It lost the ARC signal as you unplugged and then shut off your (very troubled) Wii as Nintendo believed it had lost power. I had the same issue with a bastard of a PS2, but I ran it through a straight patch bay/connector bay and then into a capture card.

The lightning is the *worst* item. All it does is delay the inevitable (of everyone else beating you by a landslide) and MAYBE screw over 1 person in particular. Not to mention, you can only get this in dead last, so whoop-de-doo for you. You mildly irritate some people and maybe have a shift in positions around 7th. It is not the best, but at least the Thundercloud allows you to go ham off-road with the speed boost it gives you, so you can tag someone else.

But you probably didn't know that because you don't know the game. Imagine saying the thundercloud, which will basically end your race if you can't pass it, is a better item than the best or second best item in the game (debatable with the bullet). And what's even crazier is that the thundercloud is essentially an INDIVIDUAL SHOCK when it strikes you. It is very common to lose 3 or 4 places after getting thunferclouded. When I was a kid I spent an entire summer getting a gold rating on every single cup. I remember specifically the pain that special cup on mirror gave me. Just GETTING to rainbow road with all first places is nearly impossible because of moonview highway and the mirror traffic.
