All of this experienced information you have is creating a great product!! I really like the black paint job you put on the grinder build!! Super slick great job
Thank you Chris. I’m thinking about doing some color splatter paint on this blacked out version. Since it’s going to be covered in dust any how. Hope you’re are happy and healthy and always working for it!! #workforit
House / Work yes mate very happy and keeping healthy! I go home today for my rostered break and I will be in the shed working on something no doubt as it’s mid winter. Spatter paint is an excellent idea and I’m sure your clean working habits will have you being able to see the flash paint job for ever 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice Brian. Always innovating. Another great concept come into fruition. Keep up the great work. I totally agree that you're in it to empower people to #workforit rather then building and providing completely made parts.
No Sir, we've just made them for ourselves, I'm going to replace 3 more in my shop and I've given parts away to four new knife makers. They've been here using mine seen how much they need a real grinder!
Brian, I'm thinking 3/8"x1.5" bar stock for the tracking wheel, with a welded tube for the hinge instead of drilling 1" plate. The bar is easier to obtain than 1" for us mortals, but the tube may require some hunting. I like the two bolt design a lot! Should lock it down and keep it from moving a lot better than a single bolt. Keep up the great work and communication!
Rafael just emailed me a similar design concept. I’m going to beat this dead horse again and get another prototype out. 😁 Hope you’re doing great Jon. Stay safe and well my friend! 🚀
@@HouseMadeUS Drawing?!?! Wow, now that you mention it, that's a much better way of conveying an idea than flapping my gums, and twiddling my digits. I'm going to learn how to use some modeling software, soon, and I'll start shooting you drawings of ideas (unless I just make them first, then I'll send you pictures). ;) Cheers, Brian! Health and safety (as well as sanity!) to you and yours, brother!
Yes. I’m currently working on another tracking prototype that uses DOM to hold the bolt instead of drilling or making those brackets. Shoulder bolts kind of work the same way I imagine.
What about running 1/4" or 3/8" plate for the wheel bolt but using a round sleeve for the swing bolt? I've got another idea for a two part mounting bracket. I'll email ya!
Got one of your tracking mec. yesterday , looks good and I came back to see you were mounting it and seen the part about side play mine has a lot more than you show care to comment ? Russ
Hi JB, just wanted you to know I’m trying this idea next. You and a couple others mentioned this so I found some DOM that can work. Also I redesigned the entire mechanism since I am not happy with with the 2 bolt design as far as tuning goes. Thanks for your help.
I know the photos don’t match but what you get when you buy that one is the one you see in the video. Not sure why they did it that way. I’ve purchased a few of them and they are all like the one in my video. Thank you. 👊🏻
@@HouseMadeUS Thanks, I'll be watching. I also purchased the ultimate bundle, and I have noticed that the links in the plans and the links in your videos do not match and do not go to the same product on eBay. i.e., the drive wheel. Is there one place to find all the latest revisions. Also, I apologize in advance if this is not the place to post.
Brian - Checkout this video th-cam.com/video/DB5M-1i5z9A/w-d-xo.html . I think this the type of tracking you should consider. This style makes the adjustment for the 'skew' (yaw) fine tunable on the fly by having a pivot screw, adjustment screws & locking screws vs trial & error with just 2 screws & starting & stoping the belt.
Yeah I really like George’s grinders. I think he watches some of my videos and has commented too. Good folks over there at Reeder. I’m designing a better version of the tracking mechanism now. This design is just not what I wanted as far as tuning goes.

thk for your time in this process of building a grinder, bought you a coffee
Thank you John for the ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
That tracking mechanism is awesome. I was getting ready to buy the one off Ebay but I'll wait till yours are available to purchase 😁
tyson troxel thanks Tyson. I’ll have some made up soon. 😁🍻

I appreciate that Ian! Hope that ankle is getting better. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
@@HouseMadeUS thanks Brian. It's better then monday that's for sure. Still quite swollen and painful so I'm on crutches.
Looking good Brian! Keep it up bud!
Thanks Lee! One more design to push out on this. 😁👊🏻
Looks pretty damn good!
Thank you James! Probably another edition of this is coming soon. (Not to beat a dead horse here but so many ideas...) 🤩🚀
Awesome Job Brian, I’m going to do this on my other revolution grinders!
Thanks Dwayne! Have you guys been selling those grinders?

Awesome.Keep ripping it brother!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Pete. Yeah just dodging the virus down here in Florida. 😂

Same here, brother. I detect a quiet unease in every shop.
We have to keep calm and carry on. ✌️

Brain, love your grinder design i'll be ordering the plans soon. who and where can i get the music at the end of your videos ?
Hello, I use envato elements for my royalty free music. Really great service. Thanks again for watching.
Have you thought about using shoulder bolts so things pivot on a smooth surface?
Yes. I’m currently working on another tracking prototype that uses DOM to hold the bolt instead of drilling or making those brackets. Shoulder bolts kind of work the same way I imagine.

looks good man.

I don’t sell tracking mechanisms.
Thx 4 the motivation ❤
You’re welcome brother. Hope you are doing well and getting in lots of skate park time. 😁
Nice been waiting to see what you were gonna come up with next, question are you going to offer the new platen laser cut?
Yes, our laser guy has all the drawings, working up the laser cut prototypes. Thanks Mike. 👊🏻
@@HouseMadeUS sweet went to buy on fathers day butt you were out will wait on both by then I might have 220 ran in garage.
Yeah I couldn’t keep up with the demand and plasma just isn’t good enough to cut and sell. They need to be filed and ground to fit.
Looks like a solid design and that's definitely a weak point on my grinder.
I’ve got one more concept to push out and try. Had a lot of help from some viewers on this one.

Instead of brackets to nount the hinge bolt, why not weld a tube on to insert the bolt through?

The link for the tracking wheel does not match the one in your build video. The eBay link has no holes in the device. Thanks

I’m thinking about a month to get this sorted. I’ve got one more design I am kicking around.
