I will forever do header installs this way, I’ve done a few 13s with the k member in but it literally takes an extra 30 minutes to drop it out ....... FML I love watching your VIDS
The BMR K frame really looks nice on the car but it looks like it could be weaker then the factory k frame what is the thickness and diameter of the tube steel ?
Why take out the kooks for the JBA? I know kooks are technically a mid length header but are still considered a long tube and both power and sound are pretty similar between the two?
Pretty late but It should line up with the bolts. If you’re asking about him saying you should take it to get a alignment I’m sure he meant wheel alignment.
Victor Barraza little late but yes, it can. I zip tied (14" heavy duty ties doubled up for a total of 4) mine to the front sway bar to get it out of the way.
I can't use che k-member brace with torque limiters with this. that sucks. Does anyone know what tap i need to chase the threads on those rear k-member bolt holes? I cross threaded one.
Does it matter which direction you install the front steering rack bolts. I've seen where some people say to install with the head of bolt facing the ground
Do you think it would be easier to install long tubes to drop the K member or not to. I've heard it's easier dropping the K member, but it looks like alot more work. Thanks :)
I don't find it any easier but a lot of people do. IMHO if you drop the K member you better add an aligmnent after the install which adds cost and time.
Great video! I'm curious, if I have long tube headers, would the lowered motor mounts lower the header ground clearance enough to worry about? I'm on coil overs and don't want to scrape!
It lowers the engine roughly an inch so you will be lowering the exhaust around the same. If you are low on coilovers like this car is I wouldn't go with the lowered mounts.
@2Brotherproductions1 no you have to use the supplied motor mounts they give you and you’ll get used to the vibrations that the polyurethane mounts cause
Bill Tumas OK.. silly question of the day, what would be the benefit of the lower motor mounts in a drag race application? Also, how was the fit of the JBA headers? Thanks, great video as always
Lower center of gravity helps but the real reason for those is hood clearance with larger twin screw blowers. They fit really well. The H pipe took a little work to get fitted properly but the headers cleared everything nicely.
Hello.. I thinking to lower the engine as i would like to install cobra jet for 2015 gt.. Would you suggest to buy k member or buying steeda engine mount would be enough? Bering in mind my Texas speed headers is so close to the steering rack

Bill is my spirit animal.

Do they make on for a 73 ?
Awesome video...you definitely should fo a video about total mustang weight saving and profuct oferrings like this k member
How does the car ride with the bmr motor mounts. Bad good?? Any knock??? Thanks
Is the transmission jack really holding the entire engine up? This is a lot quicker than using a engine hoist.
PullTab yeah, do it all the time. Works great
Why take out the kooks for the JBA? I know kooks are technically a mid length header but are still considered a long tube and both power and sound are pretty similar between the two?
that was a big waste of money
Awesome job, you make everything look so easy
How come you guys didn’t show how to align the k member to make sure it was centered?
Pretty late but It should line up with the bolts. If you’re asking about him saying you should take it to get a alignment I’m sure he meant wheel alignment.
I would of got rid of those stock A arms
How heavy was the chassis brace since it isn't reused
Interesting you guys took the kooks of the the jba headers which is what i have on my 2012 ....1 7/8 primaries love the way the jbas sound
On 05-09 mustangs, since it has power steering, can it stay installed on the car or does it have to come out with with k-member? Anyone know this?
Victor Barraza little late but yes, it can. I zip tied (14" heavy duty ties doubled up for a total of 4) mine to the front sway bar to get it out of the way.
THIS WAS AWESOME! *and the way you say socket made me lol...I think I may make a song out of it!*
great instructions bill ,thank u.

who replaces kooks with jba?? lol great video regardless
Will the factory bellypan and air deflector fit with the bmr k-member and radiator support?
You will have to zip tie the back of the bellypan around the tube since there are no mounts for it on the BMR.

Bill Tumas Thanks for the reply lol. I guess I should have ask which is easier if you don't have a lift.
Just remove the starter and engine mount brackets and you will have enough room.

@billtumas did you use a engine hoist or just the pole jack on the transmission to hold motor as well
Carlos Leon just the pole jack
CJ pony my question is there anything to help with the vibration of the motor I installed mine a couple days ago and the vibration drives me nuts
my guess would be the motor mounts
Can you use the OEM motor mounts with this BMR K member? Thx

@@juangonzales0710 Thanks
Is that a custom color on that mustang?
IDK BUT IT'S UUUUUUGLY
Got to have it green is the color name.
Damn, that's alot of sockets/wrenches
Why are you torquing with guesswork using an impact wrench?
raredesign
Go be a mechanic and you’ll understand.
raredesign they went back later and torqued to 85 ft lbs
Installed it and actually dislike the way it drives now, going back to stock wasnt worth the little weight saved.
How was the vibrations? Thx
Bill Tumas

1:58 "we'll tap that through the spindle"
*aggressively pounds with a hammer*
🤣
could this be used to swap a 3.7l to the 5.0? and with the same steering rack, or is the rack diffrent from the 3.7 and the 5.0
how much different is the install on a s197? I damaged my stock k member and decided I might as well get an upgraded one.
Tom Boyle Also If I get the lowered motor mounts will there be enough clearance to fit the FR intake manifold with the BMR strut tower brace?
Tom Boyle The install is pretty much identical. That would be a question for BMR, I have never tried that combination so I have no idea.
Mills Coves
Nader Groves
Why the swap to JBS whats wrong with kooks ?
Nothing wrong with the Kooks, just a little more power to be had with longtubes.
