YES ! heavier sailors in some respects can "de-power" a little less than the lighter weight sailers. depending on conditions, point of sail, etc.
also, if you are going to completely un-tension the cunningham, be sure to cleat it anyway and give it a little tug into the teeth of the clam cleat, so that if you take a spill, the mast does not un-step and go into the drink

I've just found out that I've set my cunningham always wrong, I have a radial and I weight 63Kg on a 170cm, so I'll totally loosen it compared on how I kept it until now.

Great video and production. But question: is there a contradiction? In the beginning it says the Cunningham mainly flattens the top of sail, and i have seen other articles and diagrams show this (outhaul adjusts bottom, vang middle, Cunningham top of sail). But later in video when boat is sideways, it looks like it’s flattening more the middle than the top. Also, they say Cunningham also promotes twist at the top, which also seems to say Cunningham is more flattening the middle than the top. Any explanation? Thanks!
