When I hear celebrities say they been depressed, had a eating disorder or been suicidal it’s an eye opener because they are people just like us. I used to say celebrities don’t have anything to worry about because they rich they wouldn’t understand what it means to struggle or feel regular. But that’s not the case … they still go through things internally. It’s refreshing knowing how successful and poised Kerry Washington is but still had internal issues just like me. I see now that no matter how I feel I’m getting through these hardships and to stay strong and that one phase in your life does not determine the rest of your life. Thank you Mrs. Kerry for showing us your vulnerability. I’m going to buy this book right now !

Fantastic interview. Always been a fan. Thank you for bringing up abortion, and suicide as women of colour from all around the world I know hearing these stories meant everything. I recently had an abortion and I'm still recovering from everything, its hard to navigate these decisions but hearing other people share their experiences makes it less hard.
