      Rob, I think I found a cool thing you might be interested in...
      When Bill is going to the manor the next day and receives his second warning at the gate, there is a shot of him getting off at specifically at Glen Cove Rd, exit 39H on some highway. I looked it up and Glen Clove is a special little city near Long Island in New York. According to Wikipedia:
      "The city was considered part of the early 20th century Gold Coast of the North Shore, as the areas along the waterfront were developed as large country estates by wealthy entrepreneurs and businessmen such as J.P. Morgan, Phipps, Pratt, and Prybil."
      I looked up Phipps and Pratt as I already knew about Morgan and they turned out to be the partner of Andrew Carnegie in Carnegie Steel and part of the Rockefeller Trust, respectfully.
      This piqued my interest and in the immediate next scene, there is a purposefully clear shot of the sign for interstate 495. I looked _this_ up and it turns out that I495 is actually in Virginia and encircles Washington DC, a totally part of the country over 250 miles away.
      Why would Kubrick make that obvious error? My working theory is that the types of people that go to these parties are not only tire upper crust of New York but also the powerful in Washington... Wasn't sure if you had caught this because I haven't seen you mention it (maybe you have) and felt compelled to share! What do you think?

      One thing you didn't notice or talk about was the train robbery in "the ninth car" article with a word description of a green jacket with red lining inside the jacket that Tom Cruise's character thumb points to in the left edge of the magazine in reading that article of the full page (not the torn version article). When you flashed back to the first bringing back from overdosing the red haired girl draped in a red blanket under the green door background Tom Cruise character stands in front of. We see Stanley Kubrick again over green tree lights over the angled red pool table where they discuss who died and why. I don't know if it is the overdosed woman stripper being interior jacketed by "green!" We are to study what the colors in the characters and their backgrounds are saying describing the action of the mood in the characters to expect. So the death of a star being "red" under the semi-calm environment "green" sort of character moods study? 🤔

    I worked in Public Relations with a police department in the U.S. for two years and I can tell you reporting "no suspicious circumstances" related to a death is fairly common, it's basically just police-talk for saying, "We don't intend to investigate this further."

      Yes it does happen in lots of cases, but it tends to only be when there are actually circumstances where there would otherwise be cause for suspicion. I gave the Michael Jackson reports as a counter example. There's also the likes of David Bowie and Jerry Lewis, no statements of "no suspicion" that I could find regarding their deaths. It's not exactly a smoking gun of course. But the statements that SK was laughing and joking before his death. You got to admit ... that's kind of odd considering the same writer had written similar about Mandy's death in the movie.

    The only reason I FEEL without a shred of proof, that Kubrick might have been killed after EWS simply because of how intelligent he was. He was often the smartest man in the room. He can make a movie and have it approved before the studio even realized what it was really about. You pointed to Deniro and the director of Starship troopers making anti establishment movies and being called fascists. Kubrick as well when he made Dr Strangelove. But Kubrick was a lot smarter and resourceful than those and harder to control. They called him a fascist once already but that didn’t stop his directing career or change his approach to making movies. Even after Kubricks death he’s rarely acknowledged or mentioned by anyone in Hollywood.

    My name is Stephen Shellen. I was an actor in Hollywood for 20 years and I did over 30 films. Your theory on Kubrick's death and him not being killed are way off the mark. You must know that scenes were cut from that film AFTER his death.He had full control over that picture as long as he was alive. Also, at least entertain that there were, according to crew members, scenes of child sexual abuse and pedophilia. (S.R.A. perhaps??) One thing I'd like to point out: the scene where Bill is about to be gang-raped but where the woman offers to take his place is likely a reference to the biblical scene where Lot's male guest is nearly gang-raped, but Lot then offers his daughter in the guest's place. In other words, this secret society's decadence is being directly compared to that of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible. I believe she was also murdered after her rape, which would make this scene a foreshadowing of her death. Although in the biblical account, it was Lot who sacrificed his daughter. Here the woman offers herself up. This would then suggest her drug overdose was deliberate but not at the hands of others but herself, ergo, a suicide. But why? Was it a subtle warning to Bill to not get too involved in the secret society? And are the parallels with Kubrick a hint that Kubrick planned and then somehow executed his own death without it being detected? Could Kubrick have been foreshadowing his own suicide?

    There's an element perhaps overlooked, broadly, by reviews of EWS. And it regards his exhibited kindness toward people repeatedly...the overdosed lady, the hooker who he pays but doesn't 'do' anything with, the costume shop girl who he defends, the bereaved wife lady who he lets down very gently...over and over the movie is wound through its beginning with him just being genuinely kind to these women, which, for them, might be somewhat exotic, really. Then, when he's discovered at the masked ball as an outsider, and he's going to be stripped if he doesn't do so.....and THAT was a tense damn scene....an unknown woman sacrifices herself for him, ostensibly taking the possible sexual attack intended for him, instead onto herself. And the rest of the movie, when he'd again see a woman, the back of my mind was wondering if each woman was THE lady who saved him. Further, it makes me wonder if every person he's talking with from then on....and even prior to that moment, was part of that ball. That part greatly screwed with my head. (and I don't believe Zeigler about the overdosed girl at his party being the lady who later on got her 'brains fucked out'. I think that was a convenient lie to make things cleaner for Bill, whom he genuinely cares about)

      Ziegler was telling the truth, and thats established with the fact that she'd OD'd multiple times before. Basically she was tired of this life she was trapped in and wanted to get out. She was revealed to be Miss NY yet Ziegler treated her as "just a hooker." It shows she was apart of something and the only way out was death. Notice she OD'd both times when sex was involved. Notice too, how she was a model, and the two models Bill spoke to at that earlier party, wanted to take him to "where the rainbow ends." Well when Bill was taken to the end of the Rainbow Costume shop (the gateway into this elite party), he saw a young girl and two men in drag, further hinting at the idea of modelling, fashion, pageantry all being connected to the debauchery of the film. remember the names that came up during the Epstein case?

    This movie has never been more relevant given the global reach of the Epstein Scandal. However, I disagree with your assessment about the emphasis on sexuality by Kubrick. The movie is about power, not sexuality or a cult of sexuality. The billiards room scene is central to this movie. I wish I could find my review from many years ago. I will watch the movie again soon and maybe find my lost thoughts on Kubrick's genius. It is also quite ironic that Tom Cruise was playing the lead role given his association with the corrupted Church of Scientology.

      bigyote Stanley Kubrick one of the movies he supposedly made was the faked moon landing. We did actually land on the moon but there was also a fake movie about it. There's 23 missing parts of eyes wide shut the way the elite kill people is primarily with cyanide it gives an indication of a heart attack. It's easy to deploy you can basically spill a liquid on somebody. Unless the toxicology report is given Within a day or two. Nothing irregular is found. This was the favorite assassination method used by the CIA and a particular Hitman for the mob who outline how he killed people in a video on TH-cam no less. There are a lot of behind the scenes individuals who have an incredible power base that allows them to do many Insidious things. The fact that many people do not do evil things does not negate the fact that some people do evil things. And when you have an elite group of people who decide who will live and who will die and who will prosper and who will not. Can you not be surprised not just by conspiracy theories but by conspiracy facts. Especially with the whole pizzagate thing and Epstein and Harvey Weinstein. There is all sorts of misconduct that is actually going on. And let's just say that you're a billionaire likes say Bill Gates. To have someone often the criminal organization the going prices around 10 grand. What if you put a million-dollar contract on somebody's life or a hundred thousand? Analysis about suggestive pedophilia would be much appreciated - i always felt there was more that was meant to be in the film, considering the costume store owner and his daughter, played by Lee Lee Sobieski (?).

    • @isaaclosh8082
      @isaaclosh8082 2 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      Pedophilia is the main message goal of the film.
      The two women at the party ask Bill, “do you want to go where the rainbow ends?”
      The costume store is called “Rainbow Fashions” where we find what goes on under the rainbow where the rainbow ends: the daughter of the costume store is a child being trafficked.
      At the end of the movie Bill and Alice and daughter are in the toy store and the daughter walks away down the isle and followers two men. These same two men were at Ziegler’s Christmas party in the beginning and they are sitting in front of the staircase. The daughter follows the two men as they go down an isle of stuffed cats, the same stuffed cat that was on the bed of the prostitute that Bill almost had sex with. The daughter follows these two men down the isle and around the corner and disappears from sight. This communicates that the daughter a young child is taken away to the pipeline of grooming and use for the secret societies.
      I believe that adult woman are portrayed at the ritual in the mansion but that’s because actually using children in those scenes would have been to nuclear and the movie would never he have seen the light of day. So adult women were used. But the message of the movie - that children are whats under the rainbow and where the rainbow ends is still communicated.

      There's a representation of girl/womanhood at all stages. Helena is the child, the costume shop daughter is the young teen, the models at the party are late teens/early 20s, Amanda Curran and other girls at somerton are late 20s to early 30s, Nicole kidman late 30s, Marion 40s, and Zigglers wife in her 50s (roughly). Very interesting. Although you didn't mention one very curious detail in the article. There is a huge error on it, last column reads:
    "She has many important friends in the fashion and entertainment worlds [no dot, no unquote mark which is odd, the text continues] "She has many important friends in the fashion and entertainment worlds and she believed she'd break through in the end. It was just a matter of time."
    Even more curious, all paragraphs in this article are written using past tenses, except for this one which uses the present tense ("She has").
    OK, I know this is sweet for Illuminati and other conspiracy theories but it is clear that Kubrick as the perfectionist he was, intentionally repeated the sentence "She has many important friends in the fashion and entertainment worlds" in a way to stress (speculation here) his own objective to expose them "and she believed she'd break through in the end. It was just a matter of time."
    The whole movie is about a high class secret society, the title of the movie is "eyes wide shut" (as many here already stressed, as a direct reference to "eyes wide open"). So, what is "wide open" for us all to see? Sexual exploitation and drug traffic running free in the "fashion and entertainment worlds". This is not even polemic nowadays (Weinstein, Les Wexner as the most prominent names).
    I do think that Kubrick's EWS has many possible interpretations, but this newspaper article linked together with the Larry Celona's real article you analyzed is really creepy.
    As a end-note, and as some here have mentioned. A real secret society which commits illegal activities does not need to be hidden, they are "open" in the sense they control the industry and therefore they can simply use the whole mystery around their existence to leave some "Easter eggs" for those who are willing to face it. if I was powerful and a part of their group, I would consider all this debate around Illuminati as rather funny. As I would know that simple folks can simply speculate about it and nothing more.
    At the end you may ask. If they are so powerful, why they bother to kill Kubrick? (again, my speculation) Maybe the EWS story is about Kubrick himself, who joined a society (crossing the rainbow) and then wanted to leave? People say that you can join them only through an invitation from a current member (in the movie represented by the piano player, Nick Nightingale - the bird itself has a strong symbolic meaning, and yes I know he is not a "real" member). So maybe he joined but he was disgusted with what he saw (in the movie symbolized by the father who sells his own daughter, in a clear moral opposition to Kubrick, who had a daughter on both real life and movie) and he decided to expose these sick deeds to the world? (therefore, violating their rules). We'll never know...

    He reported on the death of the late Seymour Hoffman too, and a contributing write.... SIEGLER!
    "Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead of an apparent drug overdose"
    Hoffman died not too long after playing a role about a Catholic Priest who molested kids.
    Celona also just wrote like 4 articles in a row about a woman and a few teens "falling to their deaths".
    All just today and yesterday. The weird just gets weirder.
    "A 15-year-old aspiring actress fell to her death at a Tribeca house party while trying climb into a locked room to get her cellphone."
    Again it has a glaring error, "trying climb".
    Maybe when he makes errors this is an inside cue to other journalists that they are lying.
    Like in V for Vendetta whenever that reporter would touch her ear or whatever to give a signal.
    The errors call attention to the lie, just like Siegler calls attention to his lie about Mandy being "fine when she left" when he throws up those Masonic hand signs. A fellow "brother" picks up on these signals and gets the truth while the rest of us masses get the lie.
    Maybe this 15 year old aspiring actress didn't really fall to her death while "trying climb".

      Per IMDB's trivia page: The letters and the newspaper read by Tom Cruise are written in Italian for the Italian version of this movie. Apparently, Stanley Kubrick shot those scenes with papers written in different languages, as he did for The Shining (1980). Also, under alternate versions: In most non-English language versions translated copies of the letter Dr. Harford recieves when returning to the front gate of the house with the "forbidden party" and of the newspaper article about the ex-Miss N.Y., Mandy, were shot and replaced the original English text.

    Hi, I remember seeing something strange in Eyes Wide Shut whilst I was studying it to write my dissertation 4 years ago. I think you'd also find it intriguing. It occurs in the first scene when Alice & Bill walk down their corridor (past their front door) to say goodbye to Helena. It's during this walk down the corridor, before entering the living room, there's a long slim window beside the front door and for a brief moment you can see a suited man (as if from the party) walking past into another room - which is odd enough, but after watching your spatial awareness in the Shining video their apartment also makes no sense - especially the front door which, from that slim window, looks to lead to another part of their apartment but later we see it leads to the outside hallway. -- I'm pretty sure this is accurate, I'm going from memory!
    Ah, another thing I remember seeing (although perhaps you flagged this up in your old video?) is in Milichs fancy dress shop - in the red backroom, the dressed up dummies often move between cuts and by the end they are all looking toward Bill/the room with Milich's daughter in - almost like the Twilight Zone.
    One last thing which might interest you is looking into the types of Venetian masks the guests wear - each mask has its own meanings, history and archetypes associated with it spanning from the traditions of Carnevale - perhaps throws clues to their character/personalities.
    Hope you have a good explore.

      Thanks. I've just checked the HD version. The "window" is a mirror showing the daughter and maid. And we see Nicole's reflection with her black coat on.
      The mannequins moving positions is a great observation. I'd not picked up on that before so will add to my notes.
      I've done some bits of research on the types of mask (for a dedicated video on the subject) and certainly several have specific meaning.

      @JustinBlazzzee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Yup I noticed the mannequins moving and the masks are 100% relevant. Look at the mask of the guy who comes to take Mandy after she offers herself to redeem Bill. The guy is wearing a plague doctor mask... A plague doctor! The plague is death. A plague doctor taking her away is death taking her away. Kubrick was a genius.

      @@corncobjohnsonreal You think Stanley Kubrick just stumbled upon the plague doctor mask on accident or used it because it looked good? If you were sick and had to see a plague doctor it meant death was coming for you and there was almost nothing you could do about it, just like with Mandy sacrificing herself for Bill at the house. Make no mistake, nothing Kubrick ever did was on accident.

    I thought that both night parties attended by Dr. Bill, referenced duality (seen with the checkerboard floor at Ziegler's party). Also, I was a bit intrigued by some of the names. For instance, if you look up the name Victor Ziegler, Victor means conquerer, and Ziegler has its roots in the name, Ziegelbrenner, which interestingly means; brick maker, perhaps referencing Free Masonry? Alice means of German nobility -(Rothschild or Alice Through The Looking Glass/MK-Ultra?), then her husband William, (Prince)? The prostitute was named Domino, which means;
    "a loose cloak, worn with a mask for the upper part of the face at masquerades." The sex slave Mandy's name means in Urban dictionary; "A shorthand term for Mandrax (pronounced "Mandrakes"), a line of highly addictive British pharmaceutical tablets no longer in legal production," and, a money hungry whore." Interesting that she OD's...Lastly, the name Nick means; the people's victory, in contrast to Ziegler's conquering victor, and Sandor means, defender of man.

    If I were a betting man, I'd say he didn't die, and this a clue to connecting the dots around that. There's a lot of history with fake celebrity deaths and maybe that's what he was hinting to - the paper is both literal and symbolic, in the movie it might be hinting at "don't believe everything you read" in real life - if we follow that same advice - maybe it didn't happen - or again, maybe there's more to the story - it's the best conclusion I can come to.

    I have to disagree about them letting her die in the hospital. I think that's more likely than them having her die at the mansion. Most people wouldn't trace her steps and would just hear she did in a hospital and never think about it again. These people work under the power of "eyes wide shut" meaning they do stuff right in the open but in a way that most people would never think twice about. If she'd died at home or especially at the mansion, most people would have an easy enough time making a connection to foul play. But of course not in a hospital, right?

    I finally heard a description of what the missing 20 minutes of footage is if anyone's interested.
    Apparently, the old guy that Nicole Kidman was dancing with convinces her to go with him and she becomes involved in the rituals/parties, was present at the party when Tom Cruise got caught and it turns out that the old guy is the cult leader. The also mentioned that they dubbed in another voice for the cult leader to change his identity in the plot.
    That's all I heard though. And in the interest of full disclosure, the source was David Wilcox, who makes pretty good money from touring and speaking at "open mind" and UFO conventions so take that for whatever it's worth.

      First of all that footage is long gone man, it's never been leaked or anything cause it was never posted to anything. Kubrick showed it to executives and they took it for themselves maybe even destroyed it. And on the second hand don't forget all the clues in this movie that are alluding to pedophilia, the costume shop owner who sold his underage daughter to the Japanese guys, and the daughter of the couple being off-screen for over 3 minutes in the end scene clearly was meant to lead into another scene where their daughter is kidnapped by the cult. Kubrick likely was going to hardcore expose the elite pedophile rings and I'd bet that's the main reason so much footage was cut from the movie.
      Alot of people who won't believe me now are the same people who didn't believe Jeffrey Epstein trafficked children on his island when it was still a conspiracy.

    Very good analysis, you really keep your eyes wide open. The title is very ironical, and remains a sort of an enigma to me, but the key to understanding the movie, is the same as the "password" used by the secret society to enter where the profane are not permitted. The all important password, provided to Bill by the "blind" piano player is Fidelio. Fidelio is the title of the only opera written by Beethoven. His opera is based on the story of the Marquis De Lafayette's imprisonment after his involvement in the defeat of the British in the American Revolutionary War. Fidelio is (was at the time of the movie) the title of the flagship magazine issued by The Schiller Institute. This magazine, more than any other, printed articles exposing the intrigues and motives of not only the British Empire, but of international oligarchy globally and historically.
    Kubrick's use of an "orgy" is a metaphor for an elite group ie, oligarchy, to get together, in secret, "to F*#K everyone's brains out". The movie went to far when it took the masks off of, not only perpetrators of this Satanic scheme, but of their victims as well. Kubrick's use of the name "Mandy" to represent the victim in the movie was also well thought out, one has to listen carefully to the Berry Manilow song of the same name, and come to your own conclusion.

    I don't think Mandy was killed. I left this comment on another video and I thought I'd leave this here too.
    Considering the ending I think one major thing thats being alluded to in this movie is how there's child grooming/trafficking. Look at the part when Bill enters the party (Pause @1:00). The women, while kneeling in their cloaks, look like kids who then stand (grow) up and disrobe as these beautiful women who then are used at these parties. Its hard to see that they're resembling kids if you've seen the movie already, because you know that they're kneeling, but on first glance you don't know that. Notice the "sacrifice" was the woman (Mandy) who 'redeemed' Bill and Zeigler said that she just got "her brains f'd out" as apart of the 'sacrifice.' That circles back to her being Miss NY who was trying to OD in the beginning of the movie, in order to escape that lifestyle she was trapped in as a young girl. If you look at her carefully in the first OD scene, she's resisting Bill's attempt to bring her back to consciousness, and Bill even alludes to the fact this wasn't the first time (notice Zieglers lack of empathy too).
    That's all connected through the idea that Bill and Alice's daughter is taken away at the end, and that the daughter of the Costume Store man was being sold to those Japanese men. But again, notice how the 'sacrifice' was Miss New York and how the daughter was being groomed by a man who owned a costume shop. The costume shop was a nod to the fashion industry (Pageantry), and did we not see fashion names come up during the Epstein saga? As a side note, also notice how the owner of that shop and his "daughter" look completely different. She's pale, blonde and blue eyed, while he's dark featured with an accent.
    EDIT: So on this video there's a further connection @13:25 Ziegler had models at his party. Those were the same models that wanted to take Bill to "where the rainbow ends." Remember the costume shop name and logo? Remember what Bill found when he was taken to the end of the store?

    • @Hunterx777x
      @Hunterx777x 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In addition to that, notice the tiger on the bed with the first prostitute that Bill goes into her apartment with (a symbol of sexy kitten programming of some sort) and when their daughter is being led away by the 2 old men at Zeigler's party, she walks through the same tiger teddy bears. Mandy too has ginger hair (like their daughter?).
      In relation to the models "where the rainbow ends" I do think that those models are essentially the grown-up version of the Rainbow Fashions shop owner's daughter. Too obvious to ignore. It is also probably why there is a lot of repeated lines in the movie as well, including the repeated lines in the news paper articles, and numerous other sentences that were repeated by Bill and others in the movie (possibly to tell us that, what goes on in the movie, also goes on in the real world, or what goes on at the first party, is what goes on at the mansion party?). Interesting stuff anyway.

    Hey, I dig your videos. One quick thing that may or may not be of note in the long run: In the old occult books, secret codes were used to pass secret knowledge to others who knew how to see it. One of the most common ways of doing this was utilizing printing errors/misspellings/offset fonts, etc. Long story short: Kubrick was the ultimate perfectionist -- yet that article is rife with mistakes. If you see anything else like that, where it seems like a banal little error, you might want to take a closer look. And I mean to the smallest detail. In this realm, the mistakes seen in that article are akin to shouting it with a bullhorn. Those old groups, and I assume the clandestine world, can get verrrrrry tricky with this. We encrypt everything, but most experts know that quantum computing will break all of this someday. If you really want to communicate secretly these days, you hide something in plain sight and only those with eyes that can see will receive the information. We are talking down to the font size of certain words being an almost imperceptibly different size. So that one would have to look through a lens to tell. Well, if you don't belong to the group that tells you to use a lens, your eyes are wide shut along with the rest of us as to what is being truly communicated. Can you get a 1:1 replica of the news articles? Is that at all possible?
    Have you noticed any random references to Spain, specifically Barcelona? Also, I should have waited to write this until I watched the whole thing. Nice catch on the printing errors. There is more to this angle... In fact, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there is hidden data in the soundtrack played backwards while listening to Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" during an eclipse. As far as paranoid conspiracy theories go, the Kubrick stuff is right there at the top of the list as far as entertainment value. Keep on truckin.

    I think Kubrick got some ideas for the Mandy plot thread from Dr. Zhivago. In that movie, Lara, as a younger woman is being 'used' at a party in a very similar way to Mandy in EWS. Lots of parallels there. The main character is a doctor, comes in, and provides the fix to the situation. In each case, the doctor is asked to not mention what happened. In each case, the person that the doctor assisted--the person who threw the party--is a person that represents wealth and influence. Now, that's where the similarity ends because each thread in each movie goes off in dissimilar directions. If you watch Dr. Z, see if you agree.

    How can there be nothing suspicious about Kubrick's death when he "died" a few days after the initial uncut version of this movie was shown to test audiences? That in of itself is extremely suspicious.. And take into account that at this screening he was seen fighting with people backstage about something afterwards.. The final version of this movie was not edited by Kubrick and I guarantee you that it would've been completely different if he lived to finish it himself

    I think this creepy parallel is intentional (it was maybe the Kubrick's idea or just the journalist knew what Kubrick's intention was). I think Kubrick's intention was to point out this inter-connectedness of fantasy and reality, but actually with more regards to reality in this movie. He featured real couple of actors (stars), used real stories in a paper and gave those references to Rothschilds' surrealist party from 1972. Maybe to highlight that his films are at the verge of reality; the movie medium actually feeds on reality and influences it at the same time. I think this was to make us reflect that seemingly dream-like entertainment (movie industry) is backed-up by very real and powerful forces/concrete people. Maybe in this movie he used more references to disturbing facts and there were more parallels to reality than he did before. Larry Celona articles are this clear parallel as well, like he is continuing this intention of Kubrick.

    I've got a theory on Kubrick films inspired by you: In every Kubrick film, the film medium itself is a part of the film. E.g. in 2001 (his only widescreen film), the film is a monolith and we are like the apes and Dave. In ACO, Alex is deconditioned from violence but we are conditioned into violence from the appealing music. How do you think this "film medium as part of the film" idea applies to EWS?
    Anyway, I'd just like to say I love your work! And more videos on EWS, please! By far the most intriguing film by Kubrick

    I have always been bothered by the headline reporting Mandy’s death: “drugs overdose “ is British vernacular; drug overdose is how an American newspaper would report it. This is indisputably an error giving away that the film is made in Britain and not New York,
    There are other errors in the film. Mandy’s body would be covered in the morgue and not rolled out stark naked as I am sure Ziegler would have covered her with a towel before the doctor’s arrival in the bathroom.
    The scene in the billiard room meanders and seems lost looking for a way out.

    There is such a great demand for the pre-cut version that it would be easy for the rights holder of the film to release a re-release without editing the material for millions will not be thrown away. In addition, one would have to ask the actors and the staff on the set - very strange that they have never said anything.

  • @olgaanadella

    Very interesting about newspaper articles and its headlines!!! in the original source, Traumnovelle (Dream Story) by Arthur Schnitzler, written in 1926, there is a story about secret society orgies, so, Kubrick definitely hasn't made it up describing some concrete society, but just adapted it to the modern society reality, you are right, it would be difficult to believe that somebody would want to kill him for just cinematization of that story as you can never be sure - was it screening or was it insinuation, why waste energy when it is not clear.
    What about Mandy's death, if you think of that as a murder, it does lack being convincing, but in the original story, as she stepped forward to offer herself as a replacement, redemption, she was going to sacrifice, to take her own life....herself....society members only asked her '"do you know what you have to do now, what price you are going to pay?" she said yes. And then she added that nobody could save her anymore from that moment. It means society members, when found guilty, had to take their own life, and as it was a kind of sect, victims didn't question that decision, they did it upon their own decision and 2 men were there just to check on her, that she didn't yield to fear and cowardness, but not really to kill her. That's why it is not as efficient as a murder, but at the same time she knew her dose, how big it would have to be not to be saved

      I only disagree because the ending scene shows Bill and Alice giving their daughter to 3 guys from Ziegler’s party early in the movie. And they wouldn’t have done that before Bill goes to the mansion and gets exposed to this world of elites and sex orgies and pedophilia and murder.

      I agree the ending makes no sense, and after all the symbology around prostitution (the first one Bill goes in to her apartment with) where she is surrounded by a Tiger teddy (hint at sex kitten programming of some sort), the costume store owner's daughter (all of the "where the rainbow ends" talk) and then the final scene of Bill's daughter being taken away by the 2 men who were at Zeigler's party (also note again, she walks through the tiger teddy bears, just like the first prostitute). All of the selling of sex, people, and young girls there are too many patterns to ignore, and nothing is by mistake in a Kubrick movie - and after all of that, to just have it end the way it ends in the final cut makes no sense. Surely the unedited footage would have had something else after that final scene.

      It's a British-style headline, talking about 'drugs overdose' rather than 'drug overdose'. Kubrick of course was an American but perhaps he'd been living in England so long, the phrasing rubbed off on him.

    • @filminginportland1654
      @filminginportland1654 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chris Wright Also some (or all) of this was shot in England at the famous studio there which Kubrick often used, if memory serves me (and we already know the NY streets were a backlot). So it could be that the crew who produced that final copy was English themselves. The one they used for the original Star Wars trilogy and the Harry Potter series as well, again if memory serves me.

    I am wondering about the 28 minutes cut from the film. the plot of the film does not really make sense as it is cut. But if the character of tom cruise thought his wife was fooling around, and he goes on this hunt to find out what is up, only to discover that the Baron she was dancing with took her to one of these parties. To me the wife comes across as a player. What is the deal about the mask on his pillow when he comes home and his wife is asleep?

    I always thought the words on the newspaper were meant to reflect his thoughts in that moment. Sort of like a comic reel.
    Seeing as how he's "Lucky To Be Alive" and he needs to play it "Cool" if he wants to stay that way. Also mirroring his instructions for discretion.

    Thinking Kubrick wasn’t Murdered because it was a bad move, especially after all of the strange things surrounding the articles, is one of the dumbest things to believe. If they made the right moves all the time you wouldn’t ever think of or hear of these things, why believe they are gods on earth who can’t mess up when they are committing crimes? Unbelievably stupid.

    Something I noticed while watching the film today: along with the echo of the Mexican restaurant, red rose, and pink pussy cat you’ve mentioned previously, as well the the duplicating lines of type in the newspaper story. When Cruise is in the jazz club with the Nightingale character, when he’s on the phone, you hear someone in the crowd clearly say “password” before Nightingale says “I know where that is”, and then writes down the password. Just a small detail that could be part of a pattern.
    Love your work!

    I just watched this movie again, but as Kubrick as the doctor. He's a guy with notoriety, a guy that can usually get what he wants. Everywhere he goes the doctor shows his card and gets what he wants, like a famous movie director. He fancies himself pretty important, and hubristically goes to the party thinking he belongs. But he doesn't. The forces he tangled with are way more powerful than he is and he's made aware of that. He peeked his head through the door and became apart of something far larger. They made it clear to he and his wife that what he had seen, what he had done, would get them all killed if it ever gets out. At the end she says "we're awake now" indicating they have seen through the veil and that they are still alive. If this was the movie that got him killed, maybe all i referenced here was about him faking the moon landing.
