The electronic music legends are hanging up their masks...for good? Lets find out.

Today, I will be going over Daft Punk, the French house electronic duo consisting of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. They created the albums Homework and Discovery as well, and Human After All. After a long science, the robots have abruptly decided to finish the robot journey with their retirement in a video titled "Epilogue". Random Access Memories was a great album as well. Daft Punk really had an amazing run with full albums and weird music video. This was a hard video to make.
I do a lot of Daft Punk Instrumental AND hip hop Instrumentals, but this time I'm doing a music breakdown / discussion of sorts on Daft Punk: Why They Split Up or Broke up.
If this video does well to me, I can continue this.
Not review, video essay, music video, playlist, or anything like that. An onlysmallbites original video. This is more of a vlog / talk video with nice drawings / art
#daftpunk #epilogue #therobots
I’m just glad that they’re still friends since most band breakups end friendships
Yea me too
Yea…
Yeah glad they still friends maybe they can come out of retirement or something idk
From what I have heard, the break up is due to one of them having a severe loss to their hearing and can't be a music creator anymore. It's sad but understandable.
I can't believe the two french robotic🤖 duo are breaking up they've done so much for every pop, R&B and hip hop artists on earth.
The biggest thing I got out of “epilogue,” was that this was (obviously,) a choice, a mutual choice, no drama, or unnecessary hate, they chose this as friends, and, despite it being sad, I’d say the love that shows is the greatest thing to happen this year so far.
Epilogue isnt saying anything except goodbye. The video was shot in 2006.
Well said. :)
Exactly, like all movies or books, they decided to make an end.
I know someone in the music industry in France. One of the “robots” has developed hearing issues that have gotten rather severe in the past few years. I’m only guessing, but I can imagine that it played a part in this decision. Which is sad. But it’s not like they didn’t conquer the world. They achieved all the success. I hope they enjoy their lives now as real humans with families and loved ones, knowing that they achieved all of their goals and changed lives and the world in incredible ways. RIP Daft Punk xo
Damn :'(
Well, dang. If this is accurate, that's honestly a real shame.
Tinnitus, or just being hit with hearing problems in general can be a real pain, and it always seems to be the people who need them the most, i.e. when it's their job or something. But as you said, they had an amazing run, and i'm sure they enjoyed living every second of it. It had to come eventually, but an end truly deserved.
Thanks for the info!
Of course something was up. "Knew it!!!"
They were supposed to perform in the Superbowl with the wknd and a fifth album in 2021. 😞
House duos "Do not break up." Kraftwerk and the chemical brothers are prime example.
@@jadeduh4555 I actually saw The Weeknd headline Lollapalooza - IN PARIS - and was 1000% SURE that the robots were going to show up. And it was 2017, no less. They have a history of doing cool live stuff every time a year ends in "7." I mean, it was THE perfect set up. The Weeknd opened with Starboy...I was holding my breath....and no Daft Punk.
This is how I came to have the talk the next day with the french music exec who happened to know the inside story. I was lamenting to him that there seemed to be no logical reason for the robots not to have shown up at The Weeknd's set - they live locally! And that's when my acquaintance told me about Thomas's hearing problems.
Undeterred, I tuned in to the Superbowl a few weeks ago, with one last burst of hope that maybe the robots would appear. But no. And....that's when I realized they really have probably already been broken up now for quite awhile. We're just now hearing about it but I think they've been done for awhile now. Happy to finally have the closure, though.
@@violetgc6049 There's I think 2 videos of Thomas Bangalter djing after 2002 and you can see him holding his ear every now and then. Really sad to see because he had a really good dj career until then.
I like that they aren't forcing themselves to make music only for their fans. Because none of it sounded forced. It all sounded like they enjoyed it. Bless Daft Punk.
I was only starting to find their music fun and interesting but when i heard they were splitting up I was so sad their music is so awesome
Aww that's always the worst, when you find someone and then this happens. We'll, least you got 'em now.
Got any fav songs so far?
Yes Give life back to music and Harder, better, faster, stronger
Saame
Sad :(
YOO EVERYTHING U SAID WAS SAME AS MEE
Daft Punk was truly one of the greats in the music industry as a whole. Not just electronic. I'm not sad they're gone. I'm happy they existed as an old comment once said.
Old comment? More like every person with social media is repeating the same shit. Dont be sad theyre gone, be happy that it happened.
Honestly if they're retiring (most likely) I feel like they deserve their time off to pursue their personal hobbies or be with family especially around these times, 28 years, im happ to be part of 23 of theose years thanks to my uncles showing me the music
I feel this 100%, I didn't mention it in the video but the duo is almost 50 years old now, so they definitely deserve time to just relax and enjoy their lives now. Have a favorite Daft punk song?
@@onlysmallbites Superheroes and One More Time, Digital Love as well hbu?
@@juan-mw2wv Face to Face is THE daft punk song for me. Superheroes is a close 2nd.
Almost 23 here 🥺
For me it was from 2010, tron legacy and my dad telling me about this duo because of it is why I became a huge fan of this band
I love how anonymous artists like Daft Punk and Sia don't have to show their faces to be successful. Their music is the face.
Yes and no. By not showing their face, they were able to create a stand out visual aesthetic which is arguably just as icon as their music. I’d say a good amount of people who know daft punk only know them as the robot DJs, without having listened to their music, or only having heard their hits in passing.
@@jasonhamm7174 I'm pretty sure most people would recognize their music over their helmets... Especially post RAM release.
Most people I know have heard HBFS, One More Time, or Da Funk but didn't even know they wore helmets until they appeared on the Grammys lol.
It’s so cool in a way. Been hoping to do something like that through my music -
Truly love the whole concept of it!
You know that people know how Sia looks right?
Sorry.Didnt knew that people know Daft punk faces too
Better to end it being legends than live long enough to be sell outs. They loved music and that’s all that mattered. At least now more people will get to know their music.
But now theire music has this weired taste
@@TimFerber Yep. It's a timeless taste. It never leaves your tongue.

I am a huge fan of daft punk, I’ve been listening to them since I was a baby, when I heard that they spilt up I was torn, then I watched the epilogue....I was actually balling my eyes out, daft punk was such a huge inspiration for me to start to play instruments and their songs really inspired me, I will forever listen to there music, probably until the day I die
Fo' sho'. Daft Punk is and probably will continue to be an inspiration to fans and musicians all over the world. Really nice comment! Got any fav daft punk songs?
@@onlysmallbites *BURGER NUGGETS FROSTY SODA*
I feel like people should say they retired rather than splitting up or quitting
Edit: apparently I guess they did split rather than retire so
Ikr it’s more comforting
The scene from Electroma is very misleading if people aren't aware that it's an actual film. I doubt Guy and Thomas would actually split up. I'm 100% certain that they retired.
Yeah, they didn't break up their friendship or anything. They just decided to discontinue Daft Punk, same with Roule and Crydamoure. What they do next is anyone's guess.
Journalists love to make it sound more intense which is misleading. Pisses me off.
yes
From the small amount of interviews they've done, you can tell they almost do this all for fun. They probably just wanna spend time with their family, or do something not tied with Daft Punk.
Like for example, taking a hike through the Italian alps.
Dude. Not gonna lie, I'm a grown ass man, and I had a big cry yesterday cuz of this.
you were certainly not alone
Grown man tears, fully understandable. Got any fav songs from them?
@@onlysmallbites voyager and Verdes quo
Damn that makes me feel better. I am 34 and I just realized I was 10 when around the world came out. Finally after work on friday I was able to go to my office and just put on my headphones and have a good ass sob session.
@@onlysmallbites Giorgio and Touch are less songs and more of a symphony but those two for sure.
They are just probably going to pursue personal projects. Thomas as well as Guy Manuel have been implied in solo projects even after Weekend collabs.
there's a Julian Casablancas (daft punk collaborator and Strokes' frontman) interview from December on theneedledrop's channel in which people asked him if he would collaborate with them again and he said that "they weren't making music right now. one of them is focused on video stuff and the other one was obsessing with ancient aliens or something like that". I guess when in heard that I kind of saw all of this coming, but it's even sadder now that it's official
Thank you, I just found it and yeah he did say that 😢 I'm a fan but I never really kept up with what they do between albums, so I just thought they'd put out some kind of farewell album or song before retiring.
Btw here's the vid if anyone's interested, he's asked about them at 43:27: th-cam.com/video/K9USppH_8eg/w-d-xo.html
Makes sense
NOOOOOOO, Thomas is the video guy, that makes Guy-Man the alien-obsessed 😂. I hope he doesn't get too much into that.
who's willing to bet Guy-Man is the one obsessed with ancient aliens?
The Footage here was filmed like 15 years back ,but just now being released , I mean great bands like Pendulum split "officially" and came back last year, while giving us Knife Party in the mean time. Ozzy and the Eagles and countless other bands have split or quit to make large comebacks, and have they really said outright that this is the end? They ain't dead ,there is hope.
This is just a guess but the death of Phillippe Zdar in 2019 could have had something to do with it. Sometimes the death of a close friend and contemporary will put things in a different perspective.
Damn never thought of that. I know I was damn sad about it, I threw a party in his name for Bastille Day.
This is understandable, and I'm not saying I disagree with it, but their last track was in 2013, so I doubt it would be something from 2019. But I'm not saying you're wrong.
I feel like I joined them too late honestly, heard them back in the Tron movie and some of it I enjoyed, (mainly the Derezzed scene and the credits music) mom showed me the rest of their work and I was instantly hooked, can’t believe that was 11 years ago, may have been a long time but to me it felt so short. Plus I mainly thought it was just them retiring due to one of them not being able to hear properly since I read stuff about it on Facebook
Hey man, better late then never! Just glad you hopped on the train! I totally understand that feeling though, happened to me too many times, but at least ya got 'em now. Got any fav punk songs?
@@onlysmallbites I’d say One More Time just because of the Interstella movie since I adore animation, can always vision that part the most when the song comes on
I sure hope that Thomas and Guy-Man do some producing behind the scenes. This retirement is really just the end of the project, and the death of the Robots. I hope the two french-men are happy, and maybe even one day the robots might be rebuilt.
Daft Punk has been there for me since day one, since I ever started listening to music. They’ll be dearly missed.
I think Thomas is married with his wife and making music behind the scenes and Thomas I have no idea.
Thomas is actually working on a ballet, last I heard.
Guy-Man, if one of the commenters is correct, might have actually developed severe hearing loss.
Guy-Man helped produce Travis Scott's newest album
For me the concept 'Discovery' and 'Interstella 5555: The story of the 5ecret 5tar 5 System' is THAT milestone. It had such an unreal impact on me compared to homework. This sets them apart from other artists so much that their legacy have to stand out clearly.
Now their brilliant evolution climaxed. Logically it must be the ending.
But hits hard as f*ck ...
BTW my all time favorite is 'Around the World'. Probably because it was released at the raising of my clubbers journey... some kind of attachment style ; )
Daft Punk - pure uniqueness!
Thanks for all that great feelings. Wich you all the best.
Around the World. Pure bliss!
They're one of the few artists who saw a vision through to it's finality. So many groups have a falling out, try to go solo, let the money or culture change them, a members die or simply bails suddenly.
So true, gotta love their determination and endless creativity while still being best buds 🙏
I remember when I saw the epilogue video, I was crying at the end, this got me to a personal level, Discovery is one of my comfort albums that I tend to listen when I have a bad day since I was 12, I really they're fine and took this decision because they got bored and not because of any health problem.
UNDER RATED TH-camR THIS VIDEO WAS GREAT
Facts
I'm one of the people who liked the second tron movie. Especially the music. Daft punk did a great job. I was hoping for another album in this style. Too bad the era already ended. Thank you daft punk for the great music!
long live the robots!
Edit: leave your favorite Daft punk song in the comments if you have one!
Aerodynamic !
Touch, Sweet touch. . . you've given me too much to feel. sweet touch . . . you've almost convinced me I'm real.
All of Alive 2007. It just blew us together so seamlessly. It's like one long song.

Odd one but “Something About Us”
Knowing that I can’t have a convo about daft punk and 15 years from now even mentioning them will date me, and the fact that no one I know looks at tron legacy the same way I do(like interstella 5555) makes me feel old. I can’t get into modern music and even modern electro sounds busy for the sake of busy. I lived at just the right time to experience daft punk, but that time is over and all I have left is reminiscing and crying in my helmet blasting alive 07 doing 100 on the highway. All of this just reminds me of how alone I am. That’s what hurts the most. I have 2 friends, one listens to mumble rap, one listens to hick-hop. Both of which aren’t remotely cultured enough to like daft punk, let alone talk about our random access memories. Makes me feel like I’m the old generation that belongs in a nursing home and a rocking chair.
I was surprised when I saw the news but I’m glad nobody passed away, the memories they created will last forever!
Great video
This is a bitter end for Daft Punk. I have just discovered them a few years back, and to see them disband just shattered my world at the seams. Though I didn’t cry, I was saddened.
i mean they are still friends but remember thomas developed a hearing problem back in 2002 and that made him not to perform in clubs anymore so they either used him or a stand in person to do the sets with guy manuel. They do have kids and i guess they just found it hard to be away from their families to give us music. im sure they will come back soon. dont be sad because its over be happy because it happened.
Why hasn’t anyone mentioned how Guy took a hiatus to research ancient aliens now?
👀?
whut?
Huh...didn't know that.
lool ofcrs he did
Where did you see that ? :0
wouldnt be surprised if the boys were producing other’s music in the bg since guy-man produced charlotte gainsbourg’s new album and that they just prefer doing that cause its easier and better in the long run for them individually
They’ve been producing other people’s albums for years though. I don’t think they’d announce a break up just so they could continue things they’ve already been doing.
I honestly believe there is no conceivable way one can hate Daft Punk. You can find their style repetitive, yes, but generally, everyone can respect their artistic dedication to their music to the point that they sacrificed their own human appearances and opportunity for worldwide fame and recognition. There are few chart topping artists nowadays with this level of musical passion.
Dude everytime I watch epilogue and touch comes on I literally start bawling, I've never felt so much raw emotion, to anything anymore even my break up. Crazy shit.
I think they called it quits because they got too popular, even hiding under the robot helmets. They just did not like fame from what I understand and decided that the concept of Daft Punk got too big and drew too much attention to themselves. I'm sure they are going to continue to make music and work on projects, but the robots are definitely dead we won't see them ever again. They had a hell of a run, but I felt their last album and the songs with The Weekend were getting too commercial. I'm just glad I got to see them live, which happens to be the greatest show I've ever seen. RIP Daft Punk!
Being one from Chicago where house music was born, I’ve always dabbled at electronica music. The first song I’ve heard in that vernacular was Donna Summers I Feel Love. But I appreciate what they’ve manage to produce that will ever go down in music history! Thank Y’all Daft Punk!!💯💯💃🏿💃🏿🙋🏾♀️❤️
I really like their Tron Legacy soundtrack. I actually bought that album.
That's dope, its a great soundtrack. Have any fav songs on it?
Imagine RTJs and Daft Punk actually performing together
Respect for bringing deadmau5, he is very underrated but famous
Deadmau5 isn't underrated at all. He's super popular in the EDM scene! Ghosts n Stuff, Strobe, Animal Rights, The Veldt... to most EDM fans, he's a household name, and to the electro-dance scene, he's up there with Daft Punk in the legacy he's created with his music.
You know just a couple days before Daft Punk split up I was just getting back into them again. I was all like "man i really hope they're in studio now" and "Gorillaz should totally collaborate with them!" then look what happened.
Truly pioneers in the genre though, they'll forever be legends in electronic music.
I kind of expected it but I didn’t want to think about it, I am gonna miss them but I will give their music a relisten for old times.
Really like the Tron Soundtrack, would've love to hear more like it in the future. Also like the various Kingdom Hearts songs you had playing in the background.
I cried super hard the day I found out, I grew up listening to discovery and watching interstellar 555, tron legacy, and loving all their performances (sad I was too young to see alive) I'm glad no one died, but especially with their send off video... there was something so truly melancholic about all of it.
Artistic Deaths turn out to be the most satisfying.
Because unlike the illusion of "life"
They create opportunities for rest
& Rebirth.
I'm okay with this ending.
It always breaks my heart hearing legacies end via death or some other unfortunate ending. But this...I'm okay with this. Those two guys deserve a good ending.
You know if you really think about it, this is OUR Mariya Takeuchi version of electronic music. Daft Punk will forever be a vibe!
I am super depressed about it ! The decades went by so fast it makes me sick.
this is a quality video, bg music is on point and you speak very clearly - thanks for making it
I remember reading that they dissolved Daft Arts (their multimedia studio in LA) in 2019. Daft Trax was also having issues. Also contemporaries Phillips Zdar and Mehdi passing away can really make you wonder what’s more important. Music isn’t everything to them.
Look up their individual projects and live mixes. Together,Roule,Le Knight Club,Da Mongoloids. Some great music came out of these two that got me looking at others like DJ Falcon,Cassius,Kavinsky,Eric Chedeville and Guy worked together for LKC and many more. Guy even has some songs from his younger brother on his Crydamoure label.
i didnt release a single tear bcs i dont feel emotions that much but inside i felt like a part of me just vanished
I think you skipped too quickly on the Tron Legacy Soundtrack :p It was a really important part of their career! And in my opinion one of their best work, this soundtrack was amazing.
I've listened to an interview of them (I'm french) where they talked about this, that without the Tron Legacy soundtrack, Random Access Memories wouldn't have existed, because working on this soundtrack, leading an orchestra and such is what opened them to working with other people, while they used to be quite shy / closed and in their bubble before that, they said it helped them trying new things and working with other artists, which then led to Random Access Memories.
This soundtrack is really part of their discography.
That's totally fair. I knew TRON was super important, but I was mainly just focusing on their major label releases for this here, but TRON is definitely underrated in the grand scheme of things, as there's some fiya stuff on there as well, and like you mentioned, helped elevate their sound to a new height. It's always interesting when an artists work outside their main stuff becomes an essential part of their catalogue, but it does happen, so that's cool.
@@onlysmallbites Yeah exactly :)
Also this video is proof that kingdom hearts soundtrack goes with every "sad" things lol
Its kinda hard to let daft punk go but its the meaning of the life sometimes a young boy not forever be a boy they become more and more older, until they one last breath of fresh air......RIP DAFT PUNK 🥺(1993-2021)
They said all that could be said with their project. Throughout their career, they wanted to create a world that humanized technology and make a case for the human soul element that persists through the digital music production in a sphere where people started getting weary of the impact digital music would have on a market that grew up around more analogue techniques of making sound. They did that with Discovery creating identity and dignity for technological approaches to sound design for the mainstream. Then, they reminisced through the origins of house music through funk in Random Access Memories. They created an homage of thanks for funk’s influence on cultivating a space for computers to flourish in music heading towards the future. They brought the future to the present, and thanked the past for the journey. What more could be said from the Daft Punk identity? Before Daft Punk announced their story’s end, i just always had a feeling RAM felt like a goodbye. And it was a beautiful goodbye at that. While Daft Punk’s story has already been written, who’s to say Le knight club wont make a reappearance, or a totally new project altogether? Or perhaps its time to let the next generation take over. Regardless Daft Punk was always hopeful for the music of the future, and we should be too and thank Daft Punk for a wonderful past
Personally, I think the Random Access Memories album was (and still is) so brilliant, it would be very hard to make another one on the same or even a higher level. Also the expectations would be so high, it wouldn't get better than average ratings and would stand in a shadow of R.A.M.
Thay have ended it at their best as they sadly should've.
I knew it was bound to happen. But i did cry. I'm still crying. I do hope that one day the do come back to us with a reunion tour!
I remember them being one of the first artists I ever listened to and this really hit me hard :( when I first listened to them I didn’t have money to get merch so I used their grammy nomination and win in the newspaper as posters ❤️
I gave RAM another listen after the announcement and actually started crying during Touch since it hit really close to home being recontextualized as their "farewell" track.
Aw heck, I'm still holding back a tear.
Sadest moment in house history. they were revolutionary in every song they made. a great loss for everyone who loves electronic music. I lost my most favourite. been sad ever since, listening to their music excessivly and with a little tear here and their. imagin how many more great songs they could have delivered,... their is no alternative to them. All good things come to an end... Good run! Got to see electroma recently. Amazing!
Old rumors were that they got their style from an old electronic group called Kraft Werk, they actually kinda sound alike just that Kraft Werk was a much older Electronic group from around the 70s or 80s 👍
Amazing video man. Thank you so much for making this...
Also shoutout to the Kingdom Hearts music starting at 3:20 :´)
I’m upset, because I’ve listened to daft punk since I was a kid. However, I’m so glad that they didn’t split due to an argument, and they went out on top, rather than losing relevancy.

Hey, cool video ! Just a bit skeptical about their reason to quit ("not interested in creating music anymore"), do you have any interview or statement they made to support what you're saying ?
Thanks for enjoyin' it.
And to answer your question, they never really do interviews or press release stuff of that matter, as they tend to keep quiet about almost everything, but I do remember back in 2015 after they signed with Columbia Records, learning that they only signed with them for a 1 album deal, which is never a good sign. In the music biz, that usually means the artist is planning their own label, which they already had [daft life], or they're getting ready to wrap it up.
The original billboard article is gone, but here's a reddit post talking about the contract:
www.reddit.com/r/DaftPunk/comments/1q7pbl/is_it_true_daft_punk_made_a_contract_with/
That coupled with artists being turned down in the years, such as Madonna, and you can begin to put two and two together, that music was not the focus at the moment.
www.thethings.com/madonna-favorite-artist-collaboration/
Comparison is akin to David Bowie with a 10 year gap between his albums, but only coming back for 2. But like I said, I think the love for music making is permeant, but as you get older and life gets in the way, your priorities change, and I assume that's what happened to these chaps and I think they realized that, probably starting around 2017, as they were really dipping from headlines around that time.
TLDR: Contract guff, sparse collabs and Old Age will eventually take the kick outta ya.
They are interested in making music still and still are producing guy man Is stated not confirmed to be helping kavinsky with his 2021 album and Thomas bangalter is probably gonna be doing solo work like 97
@@onlysmallbites Speaking of which, Guy-Manuel's name is pronounced like "E-man-you-elle". In this case, Guy rhymes with "P" and not "pie".

A little late to the party but I was able to speak to the members of Phoenix who has relations with Daft Punk and they shared with me that Guy and Thomas felt the music scene felt like 90% business and 10% fun and it wasn’t the same scene as when they started and decided it was best to hang it up as they felt they had more solo projects in mind. So fingers crossed with things such as Thomas’ opera album releasing they’ll be able to get it out of their system and return for a reunion 😔
If it does happen, it won't be for 10 years.
You forgot to mention Daft Punk produced some songs for Kanye West's yeezus album
I'm a future funk producer, it is a sample based genere to, a year ago I got into production of the french house genere. I've heard this guys for a few, but this last year they helped me a ton. So much hove to daft punk
I love Future Funk too, Daft Punk basically invented it. I wish more people realized the impact they had on various singers and songs.

now watching this video and daft punks video called epilogue I think that's what it's called, made me cry for days on end and yet i still am but what I'm trying to say is life goes on it may be sad, but things change and that, we just have to move on

i’m so happy i was able to grow up with them. i’m gonna miss them so much i’ve been so sad :(

When I heard they broke up, I actually cried. They are the reason I started my DJ career. And now, after 2 years of being a small town DJ, I'm working on making my first original song.
Since I heard their song the first time (Doin it Right), I just can’t stop listening to their musics, especially random access memories, perhaps no album would stand a position that high in my life.
Say word!! RAM really does have some gems on it, since I went on a re-listen. You have a fav song on there?
Blue Man Group actually predates Daft punk by a couple of years
Greatly put together video man
I find it quite disrespectful that you used their leaked pictures in the video. They asked for one thing, to stay faceless but "fans" like you keep circulating pictures never intended for a public audience. The pic you used for Guy-Manuel was taken when he was using a pump at a gas station for crying out loud. Bottom of the barrel paparazzi photography which you saw no issues in using in your video...
I agree, I always show people the 1993 picture when they are posing with Thomas staring at the cam and Guy smoking a cigarettes instead. He should've used the old ones as a sign of respect.
i honestly think it's quite poetic that when they split up their faces are shown. no real reason to hide it anymore.
@@cartercawthorne8858 I see your point but I would wait for them to show themselves in public first. However, there was a live set Thomas did in Paris in 2020 unmasked and everything. It was with the band that made 113
I mean... it's not like he went out there and took a picture himself. It's always been very easy to find it on Google and they've shown their faces in interviews and magazines. It's no secret.
Bruh who freakin cares ..
First the death of Phillippe Zidar from Cassius in 2019 and now this... is like a part of you dies with it.
I wasn't that surprised since, aside from their collabs, they had not release a new album from almost a decade now, but its sad anyway, they still had much to give as RAM proved.
I hope everything goes well for them, and i wish we can still see them reunited someday in the future...
even though they did not release an album in like 8 years
it shook me up when i heard this
I feel like the tron Soundtrack get less credit than deserved, it is still to this day, likely my favorite album of all time
I really love their additions to the tron legacy film. The music they made for that film was something else…
3:40 Man, Treasured Memories from Kingdom Hearts hits hard with the overall theme of the video.
I first listened to daft punk in 99... they got me hooked on electronic music.
I'm a metalhead, I've been a metalhead for 12 years, but before I got into metal I was sweating over Daft Punk. I still love their music, and I own two albums from them with my metal CD collection.
These guys where amazing I remember all we listened to in school was daft punk in music and gym class they were iconic sad to see em split but they left a mark on everyone who heard their music it's iconically legendary
I cried when they broke up
And I sobbed when you played dearly beloved at the end of the video
