A person, here on TH-cam, saying that they are sorry, but this is how I see it, makes A LOT of viewers happy. Because someone is saying what they/we are feeling every time we watch these Post. So thank you. Great Post.
One of the best reactions to this song that I've seen, and I've seen several dozen of them. Please continue with your Home Free journey and I'll be here to experience it with you.
That was Tim at the end. He’s got a 5 octave range so he can sing low and sing high. Avi with the knit hat has a beautiful voice. Austin was doing the real high notes. Home Free is so talented. They do another Johnny Cash song Folsom Prison Blues they did during Covid, it’s great. Good reaction!!! Have a wonderful Christmas! 😃😍
Thank you for your time. I've played in symphonies for 47 years. It's not uncommon to see colors while listening, playing, or singing to music. For years I kept it my secret until I saw a voice coach talking about on TH-cam. Started asking my fellow musicians and found out that 6 of us out of 70 experience this while playing. So your not different but gifted to experience music in an enhanced sensation. I have come to appreciate this gift for it truly is.
Thank you so much it’s nice to communicate with someone else who experiences this! I thought for a minute there I was potentially going insane, ha! But what a wonderful sensation it is isn’t it? I feel like everyone else is missing out
You absolutely made sense, colors and emotions definitely have a point where they meet! To each of us emotions take on different tones and hues. No reason to be embarrassed trying to help us see our favorite band through YOUR eyes. Great Reaction!
🎼🎼🤍🔥🤍🎼🎼 .... nice to meet you Alison. I also was raised on Johnny Cash ... from a father who was raised on Johnny Cash. I already loved this song , then Home Free comes along and raises it to the clouds. Tim & Avi are superb , and I had the same reactions as you the first time I listened to this one. TY for sharing.. I hope you do much more Home Free reactions , there are many turquoise gems!!! 💙💙🎼🎶🎼💙💙🎼🎶🎼💙💙🎼🎶🎼💙💙
Great reaction and a very unique way of describing what your hearing in colors. Distinguishing their different voice textures as colors, loved it. Not weirded out at all.
Throw those emotions out there, Alison. There are going to be songs that you're going to need tissues for, guaranteed, and you won't be the first one that had to use them. Slide on down the Home Free rabbit hole and enjoy the ride. There are over 200 songs to choose from and all of your questions will be answered. Just ask. New Subscriber for more Home Free.
This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.
You’re the only person reacting so far who’s gone back to listen to the backup vocals. Nicely done! They are perfectly done. Also, when Avi sings his verse, listen to Tim’s backup bass part, it’s so well written and rendered, especially the little stops in it where it doesn’t completely fill the available space. Spectacular!
How special to experience this music with such intensity. You are the first person I have ever seen experience sound with colors.... I have heard of it, so it's not crazy! Just intense. Btw, HF also has an epic version of Folsom Prison Blues that they did, appropriately enough, during lockdown. Subscribed for more.
Alison… I’m a new subscriber to your channel (fellow Aussie) & would like to wish you, your family & EVERYONE here all the best for a very Merry Christmas & a safe, prosperous & Happy New Year. All the best for 2024 🎄✌️🎅🏻🎄
What a fun reaction! I like how you hear in colors. You said you are familiar with Pentatonix, so you are probably aware that Avi left the group in 2017. Amicably, he was burnt-out, and his mom had cancer. After two years, he launched a solo career with Change in the Rise and a month ago released Healing. I would love to hear you react to Avi. His voice is sublime, and his songwriting/composing skills are outstanding. Again, great reaction, cheers!
Now, that's a colorful analysis! You are so much fun to watch react. Yes, you should definitely do "Folsom Prison Blues". Lots more colors. Also do "The Driver" a wonderful tribute to the common worker. Greetings from a Bonafide Home Fry.
#homefree does a great cover of Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. And you've discovered them just in time to react to their Christmas songs: O Holy Night, with leads by Tim and Austin; Children Go Where I Send Thee (collab with Kenny Rogers); Do You Hear What I Hear, arranged by the beatboxer, Adam Rupp. And I hope you'll do their Auld Lang Syne for New Year's: 5-part harmony with 4 solos resonating with each of the guy's true "colors."
You make a lot of sense. I fully appreciate all your emotions. I have always been an Elvis fan, but the man in black became part of my life as I grew older.
I'm also an Elvis fan! (life long! my first CD was Elvis live in the 70's!) But i do agree! I'd say with the more i experience life, and perhaps the more jaded i become, i can understand/relate to/appreciate Johnny Cash's writing and music so much more.
Never apologize! The way that you described your synesthesia was awesome! I have Tourette Syndrome and trying to describe the way it feels/just how it is to be me...can be SO difficult. So I really appreciate your synesthesia description because it was very relatable for a condition most of us will never truly understand.
I’m glad I can connect to you in someway through this! It’s like translating another language that’s up in my metaverse if you will 😅 And thank you, for taking the time to write this!
I only realised in the last few years that not every had these same sensations when they hear music, (or see specific colours with numbers and letters etc too!) I was amazed at how lucky I am to be able to feel and experience music this way!
Hey don’t apologize for your own impressions of this great performance. Music has a set of codes that literally unlock the human heart! It exists in time, both beginning and ending in silence. It reminds us of our mortality, which is a major part of our beauty and joy. Tears are a quite appropriate response! Good to see another human being tuned in to the magic!
I would recommend that you listen to all of Home Frees' performances on season 4 of tgr sing off. Watch the judges' reactions to Tim's voice. You will really enjoy it. When people hear Hone Free for the first time, they have to listen to a second. Once you go down the rabbit hole of Home Free, you'll never come out.. There is one reactor that has over 100 reactions to Home Free in just 6 months. You will never regret listening to these guy's.
Tim is classified as a bass, but I think you had a point about labeling him as a baritone, because what I hear is him singing in the baritone range for his solo, with a lot of country style.
I associate words, syllables, even whole sentences with colors. My mind "sees" language as it is spoken, so i totally understand your association of colors with music. It's a special gift
What I like the most in your reaction, is the smile on your face. For me, it feels like you're the sun : light and heat come out of you (sorry if it not a right way to say it. Being french, i don't know the right words in english to describe what it makes me feel)
Had to subscribe, you're really good at reacting, can actually tell you loved it. Check out Sea Shanty by them, think you'll enjoy it. I prefer the live version myself
Tim Foust, the guy who opens the song and sings the final base note is first and foremost a BASE singer. Now Tim can also sing everything from Tenor to Baritone, but his main focus in the group is the base lines.
While I've heard of synesthesia, I've never known (even through TH-cam) anyone who had it, and could describe what they were experiencing through it. It's very interesting and entertaining to hear that kind of perspective on videos I've seen reacted to many times, so Thank You! Another a cappella group you might enjoy is VoicePlay. I didn't seen any reactions to them on your channel, and they've got another amazing bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, who also has a solo channel - where he sings all of the parts, from bass to tenor! That might be a very interesting experience for you! VoicePlay are known as the "theater kids of a cappella", because they will often dress up and act out the parts of the songs they are performing - I'd recommend them (and Geoff) wholeheartedly!
Tim is technically a Bass Profundo, but has a remarkable 5 Octave Range. His last note was an F#1. Avi has a different, more resonant tone (which I also love) but a remarkable Bass Singer who also ranges from Bass to Baritone to Tenor. 🎷
Great reaction! If you enjoy Christmas music, and low bass voices, you must listen to Adam Rupps's (the beatboxer) arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" -- a Home Free masterpiece!
My opinion... if you have a song that's on a playlist, and you hear it fairly often... that's not 'legit' for a 'first reaction.' If you PREFACE the reaction, some would say "fine." It's different if it's a song you haven't heard in some time, that's different. As you said, you are listening more intently and critically when you are reacting. Particularly with Home Free, Pentatonix and VoicePlay... fans LOVE reactions to their favs. GO FOR IT!!!
Hello I'm new I rec voice play accapella group start with Valhalla calling a Viking cover and Geoff castelluchi deep bass cover big bad John , by Jimmy Dean enjoy
Avi Kaplan of (sometimes) Pentatonix ....bassist and friend to Home Free .... his low register is almost that of Tim Foust ... at the end he is seen grinning while Tim hits F#1 ..... just insane. GBjj
Nothing crazy at all. People have their own ways of experiencing life. Even if it were crazy, it's your crazy so OWN IT! Avi, with all the colors, is their guest bass singer. Tim, the other bass voice, delivered that final note and has a range of five octaves. I must warn you though that you are in deep trouble as these guys are seriously addicting
This was my first time seeing your reaction and it was terrific! Thanks. Home Free is fantastic and everything they do is amazing. One of my favorite groups! If you like Johnnie Cash, please, please, PLEASE check out Geoff Castellucci's version of Folsom Prison Blues. I promise you will not be ready for his bass voice and 5 octave range. He layers his videos and sings all the parts. His cover of 16 Tons is also super fun and I know you'd love it. He is the bass singer for another Acapella group called Voice Play. Voice Play is another rabbit hole I hope you delve into. They are completely different than Home Free and Pentatonix. Their versions of Valhalla Calling Me and Nothing Else Matters are great starting points.
Relating colours with sounds is a version of synathesia, a mental condition that cross-links various sensory areas of our brains. It is not common, but not vanishingly rare either.
Given that Tim is a "burgundy, like a wine," I'd be very interested to hear how you'd describe another bass named Geoff Castellucci. A good place to start would be his cover of "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" on his channel, or "Valhalla Calling," done by Voiceplay (the acapella group he sings bass for).
Great reaction 😊 They did this when they were on the Sing Off ( minus Avi ) and won that season List of the guys Tim Foust - Bass 5 + octave range had long dark hair older videos short with grey newer videos Austin Brown - High Tenor ( long wavy hair ) voice of an angel Rob Lundquist- Lead tenor ( beard & glasses very soulful voice Adam Rupp - Beatboxer ( can make any sound imaginable) Adam Chance aka Chance -Baritone / Bass ( rich silky smooth voice ) replaced Chris Rupp ( Adam’s brother) In 2016 They did a cover of the The Horses ft Travis Collins and Amy Sheppard you might like 😊
This would probably be loads of work, but a super interesting idea would be to tint the video in the background to the colours that you see as the music is playing. Idk synesthesia is fascinating and that could make for a really unique reaction video!
New subscriber here 👋✌️Avi put the cowboy hat on as a tribute to Tim hitting that low last note and I was wondering if you could do a reaction to Jelly Roll Save Me or I Need A Favor. He's incredible and proof that you can't judge a book by it's cover. 😂 Btw, WEIRD IS WONDERFUL !!! 🤗😁✌️
Synesthesia is fascinating I love that the colours you feel are (in my opinion) perfect for both Avi and Tim. Gold and teal for Avi the Californian desert dweller and maroon burgundy tan rustic colours for country Tim haha . Very interested in it for other videos if it comes to you. Is it just music that brings it on for you or in other aspects of your life?
Hello! Thank you for appreciating this unusual super power! (I like to imagine it’s a little super power sense I’m lucky enough to have). I actually first really started talking about it and asking people if they experienced it with letters and numbers, that was the first thing I actually went ‘wait… you don’t see colours with numbers and letters?’ To someone! Every number has its own colour, as well as when I think of seasons or months! For example for me, 3 is a bright pink, 7 is blue, 2 is yellow, 5 is red - and they’re always the same! Just yesterday I was trying to remember a date of a celebritie’s death, and said to my partner ‘I feel like it was august, I’m just getting bluey purple and that feels like august’ which I realise sounds so strange but I think he’s gotten fairly used to it! The thing is, I think we’re all capable of this skill! It’s like just discovering a different way to read your own thoughts, does that make sense?! I’ll have to make a little video describing it more some day! Thank you for taking a keen interest! 😅
For a little example if I’m remembering a dollar value, or phone number it’s usually in different colours, so eg: 25,688 is yellow red purple orange orange 😂😅 or 43,705 is orange pink blue white red 🤣 I sound insane hahahah
@@AlisonReacts no it’s really fascinating. Brains are a weird and wonderful thing. I get weird buzzing tinnitus when my migraine auras kick in (not as interesting haha)
If you like low, buttery smooth notes, please check out Geoff Castellucci, the bass singer for the Acapella group VoicePlay. He is hands down the "bassiest" of all the bass. singers. Definitely check VoicePlay out and Geoff's individual channel. He has a 5 octave range and sings all the parts. His cover of Folsom Prison Blues is great. Two rabbit holes you will will love jumping into!

I appreciate the that, however people generally come to my Chanel for my reaction, and due to copyrighting issues I can only show so much of the screen at a time! The full uninterrupted video link is in the description box. 😊
@@bradgardner9188 I think it differs for different people. I have noticed some people can’t manage to get more than 25 mins of a movie reaction up but then some manage to get 55 mins - it’s frustrating to have to fiddle with I must say 😅
Ahh…I see 👍🏻👍🏻. I’m not a huge country fan but I’ve listened to that song 100s of times, it’s bloody awesome. And YES PLEASE to you watching it again !
I think I will then! It blew my mind the first time and I was IMMEDIATELY excited to watch their stuff, so I remember after that being like ‘oh no I HAVE to react to these guys’
Lmao you could take less effort to just click ‘back’ or ‘exit’ but I do appreciate the traction of the comment and the time taken to scroll down and type this :)
YOUR CHANNEL HAS THE CORRECT TITLE = Alison Speaking - FAR TOO MUCH. The multiple images of you is clear evidence of your need for attention. Please consider this critique as reason for my disapproval.
You mean my thumbnails? The idea of the page is for people who would like to see my reaction. Hence the images of me reacting. I speak, because yes, that’s also the idea of the reaction channel. Typically in order to be able to upload without issue or be able to monetise (which is usually still sharing) we need to pause every other minute or so. What I do is I pause AS I have thoughts. I’d lose that thought if I waited or if I wrote it down in a notepad for after. I like to be IN the music. There’s plenty of other channels that do things differently, but as I choose to still do this as a hobby and something I enjoy, I’ll continue doing so to what feels enjoyable and natural for me. I appreciate your critique - despite it coming off as judging a book by its cover or synopsis on the back - and that’s fine, not everyone knows a good book when they see it. ✨
Great reaction! If you enjoy Christmas music, and low bass voices, you must listen to Adam Rupps's (the beatboxer) arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" -- a Home Free masterpiece!
I must say,I had quite a bit of fun editing this one 😂🎉

#homefree does a great cover of Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. And you've discovered them just in time to react to their Christmas songs: O Holy Night, with leads by Tim and Austin; Children Go Where I Send Thee (collab with Kenny Rogers); Do You Hear What I Hear, arranged by the beatboxer, Adam Rupp. And I hope you'll do their Auld Lang Syne for New Year's: 5-part harmony with 4 solos resonating with each of the guy's true "colors."
Speaker systems can't always handle Tim's bass notes. He can also go high though, and that startles people as much as his low notes.
As a Cash fan, you need to see/hear Home Free's version of "Folsom Prison Blues".
You make a lot of sense.

They did this when they were on the Sing Off ( minus Avi ) and won that season
List of the guys
Tim Foust - Bass 5 + octave range had long dark hair older videos short with grey newer videos
Austin Brown - High Tenor ( long wavy hair ) voice of an angel
Rob Lundquist- Lead tenor ( beard & glasses very soulful voice
Adam Rupp - Beatboxer ( can make any sound imaginable)
Adam Chance aka Chance -Baritone / Bass ( rich silky smooth voice ) replaced Chris Rupp ( Adam’s brother)
In 2016
They did a cover of the The Horses ft Travis Collins and Amy Sheppard you might like 😊
This would probably be loads of work, but a super interesting idea would be to tint the video in the background to the colours that you see as the music is playing. Idk synesthesia is fascinating and that could make for a really unique reaction video!
New follower mate so you just do you, From an Enoggera lad.
!! Thank you! I’ve yet to discover any Brisbane followers so this is really cool! Cheers!
If you like Just Harmonies without beatbox, check out the boys doing Auld Lang Syne... it will send your senses into overdrive
pardon: HEAR in color!
Tim is a Bass Profundo not Baritone, that’s the other singer with a goatee who is the baritone
It was just a slip from me! I know he was the bass I just got my words confused! But thank you!!!
For a little example if I’m remembering a dollar value, or phone number it’s usually in different colours, so eg: 25,688 is yellow red purple orange orange 😂😅 or 43,705 is orange pink blue white red 🤣
I sound insane hahahah
@@AlisonReacts no it’s really fascinating. Brains are a weird and wonderful thing. I get weird buzzing tinnitus when my migraine auras kick in (not as interesting haha)
You seem....stimulated by this😂
You’re babbling girl, it’s cute!
One I would love you do a reaction to is Avi Kaplan - Change On The Rise
stumbled across you the first time, thank you for your reaction. your enthusiasem has me smiling😊.
edit: sorry, just realized , you have seen my following sugestion
judging by your reaction and your comments i think you might apreciate "cakra kahns" version of tennessee whiskey th-cam.com/video/IxJotei5eY4/w-d-xo.html
have a great day
Tim is NOT a "baritone", he is a basso profundo with legit 3 octave range.
actually he has a 5 octave range
@@henrikkorshavn5702 Not surprising. Thx.
Is that a candy neckless?
Why yes yes it is! I worked a Christmas Carols event in town before it and had a little too much fun😂
TIM IS A GREAT BASS - not baritone ... though he has it as well as Tenor in his three register vocal talent. Tim Foust, Texas.
Love home free but.... While the video is playing the bubble you're in takes up half the screen....we want to see the video too please
I appreciate the that, however people generally come to my Chanel for my reaction, and due to copyrighting issues I can only show so much of the screen at a time! The full uninterrupted video link is in the description box. 😊
@@AlisonReacts oh really...I watch many reaction videos and they all show the entire screen...they just stop the video few times cause of copiwrlte
@@bradgardner9188 I think it differs for different people. I have noticed some people can’t manage to get more than 25 mins of a movie reaction up but then some manage to get 55 mins - it’s frustrating to have to fiddle with I must say 😅
What the hell was the image at 9:24 ???
A goose!!
You yapped over the best part! Missed the target
It sounds like synesthesia to me.
The singer you mean is Tim, the bass, not baritone.
I knew I got that wrong! Dang it! 😅
Mate why have you not done “Man of constant sorrow” ?? 😳😳
it was the only video of theirs i HAD seen before i started the channel! but ill happily rewatch!
@@AlisonReacts Yeah they definitely sucked me in with that one, lol.
My god lady. You keep talking....stopping. Now I don't care if I here the rest of the song. Why not let it play and comment afterwords? Bye
Lmao you could take less effort to just click ‘back’ or ‘exit’ but I do appreciate the traction of the comment and the time taken to scroll down and type this :)
I lost IQ points watching this 😢
That’s a shame🤷🏻♀️
That’s often how it feels watching literally any news that comes out of America for us here. 💁🏻♀️
✨
they have more with Mr Cash 😊
Great reaction! If you enjoy Christmas music, and low bass voices, you must listen to Adam Rupps's (the beatboxer) arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" -- a Home Free masterpiece!
