That's a Strada not a Sport. Sport would have different paint, a hump-back seat, clip-on handlebars, and a 'Sport' badge on the top yoke. Strada engine rated at 35 bhp (Sport 39 bhp) but in most respects the two models are the same. Not so rare here in the UK, where they also had the standard right-foot gear shifter / left foot rear brake. Exports to the US had to have the pedals reversed to comply with US regulations. Lovely bike and a good review.

The unique aspect of the engine is the Heron heads which were designed by Lambertini
I owned a 3 1/2 Strada in the 1980s here in the UK lovely bikes

Nope my frind, the engine by Lambertini was the First with Rubber belt and introduced the concept of module cylinder , that explain why Lambertini was a engineer coming from Car world

First mass produced bike with rubber belt, not first bike. Heron heads are like hemi in american cars. @@nellaRissa

My dad has the 1978 version with right-foot gear shift. Its the first bike i used after getting my driving licence. its a lot of fun to ride on bendy roads. not so much at speeds over 80 or 90 mph. between 4000 and 5500 rpm its an amazing ride. above 6500 rpm it starts to vibrate a lot. I do like your 1975 version better because of the spoke wheels.

Strada for sure - note that the clock says red line on the 8000 mark - it would say 8500 if sport clocks. Not uncommon to find sport and strada parts mixed on some restorations (often sport bottom end for example). The Strada is a lovely bike if up and running right and this one seems just fine. Good lookers these little bikes. Shame they can't manage to produce a nice, sweet handling 350 today with real world power for small backcountry scratching. The handling on these things blew the RD 350's away whilst the outright acceleration didn't quite match - the engine is easier to keep on the boil though - no power band as such, but enough torque to get back up to speed and a good surge between 6000 and 8000 revs and still almost twice the fuel mileage compared to their seventies cap competition.

Put close to 50k on a Strada... selling it was the worst decision I've ever made.

FYI, the V-angle is 1 'radian' = 72° = one fifth of a circle. Not sure if anyone else has used it, most designers seem to go for arbitrary 'round' or popular numbers like 65°, 75° etc'.

There's no way a mini van could take out Captain America. I dig that bar end mirror. Cool looking bike. Interesting exhaust pipe configuration. I wonder how hard it would be to find parts for it.

It's a Strada, not a Sport but tbh the Sport had a pretty rad riding position.
I think the Strada was a better compromise but I'm pretty big.

It’s indeed a strada. 5 speed gearbox where the sport has 6. Less compression, bhp an torque. Sport has clip-ons. Different seat. Still a very nice bike. Happy Sport owner here.

Love Morini ... just saying, this is not the Sport, it's the Touring (also known as Strada) ... but doesn't matter, it's an eye catcher anyway ;)
2020-07-04 it's kind of funny ... I saw the 2nd Moto Morini 3 1/2 Sport just the other day ... as you said you saw just 2 Morini's too.

Naughty, they don't pump oil to the rockers, rely on oil vapour condensating and dripping onto rocker assy, wait til really warm before mindlessly reving or riding....Lovely machines those but need to have required maintenance strictly adhered to, watch Paul Comptons videos to see why.

Very interesting motorcycle. Since I'm a cheapskate, I have to marvel at 700 bucks to paint two side covers and a three-gallon gas tank. Ouch. Even ouchier, 2000 bucks for a primo job.

From what I’ve seen, pretty typical. My area is loaded with patchwork. I heard about that fellow somewhere in England who “stamped” all the potholes in his town to get attention on them, pretty awesome lol.

In northern towns, yes. Frost does a job on roads, destroying them from underneath. Small towns have to pay for their own road maintenance, and most are fairly strapped for cash. I've been away from Vermont for 20 years and whenever I go back I'm surprised at the poor condition of urban streets.
