Nearly have to agree with that as he was one of my all time favourites. I spoke to Mike Moroney about how good he was and he said he just about cried the day he broke down as he said he has never had a horse before or since that could hold a candle to him.
This Particular Horse would of been a Champion 3rd start ok f his Career he won the Derby never been done before or since in only a horses 3rd Start then of Course the Races in Aussie that Cox plate run about 7or 8 wide on the unsuitable wet Track only reason Makybe Diva beat him then 3rd in the Cup the next season could of won everything Cox Doncaster Melbourne Cup but got injured could of been the Equal of Sunline O have no doubt but we will never know it was tragic that he couldn’t race on & win everything he deserved
I'm 59 and have seen a few races, if someone can tell me about a horse in NZ or Aus that could close this fast to win, next to Winx, Winx was blocked and closed, not allowed in the race because the jockeys wanted her there and last. They did the same to Xcellent, knowing he was a very back runner. Do you people remember when Xcellent was 14 lenghts last out the barrier. He still won. Winx 2018 George Main Stakes the jockeys blocked her. Looked what happened. I rate both these races equal in the two fastest closing times at the highest level. Yes, horses can close quicker but not like these two. does anyone agree.
