I love how he's convinced during his track time that he's riding on the PCCB and that they are "absolutely tireless" but he's actually running on the steelies. it just shows how porsche's brakes are The Business (in the beginning he's running on the PCCB, but during the track event pause at 4:38 , 4:39 you clearly see its the steels)

Porsche GT3 RS vs Nissan GT-R trollers are so annoying.
You are comparing 2 completely different cars.
The GT3 RS is a specifically designed "track-day" car, whereas the GT-R is an "everyday" car that can be extremely fast around a circuit.
They have basically the same chrono performances but :
You'll die of a backache with your GT3 RS if you drive it everyday.
    or
You'll destroy your GT-R's tires after 10 laps on a racetrack.
So please, stop comparing what is not possible to compare.

345KG downforce, I thought would be like 500KG, even Laferrari claims 360KG downforce (but it's overpowered, so never make sense anyway).
But the GT3 RS still quite balanced with its power and weight. Does anyone know what is the max downforce you can apply to a road legal car? I think Radical RXC V8 has a lot, 900KG max, that is 1G for a road legal,

Down force= 110 kg front 235 kg rear. Thanks for telling. Other journalist are stupid, just saying 80% more down force than GT3 991..... This car really built for overcoming understeering. The rear steer the same way as the front means less relied on front tires. With 110 kg of Df front 235 kg Df rear, t just maximize it. Again, RWS means larger turning radius. It's like transferring understeer into distance. What I'm thinking is that when the rear steer with the front, means the rear may have to due with both forward traction and lateral grip. The rear share lateral stress with the front, it did balanced traction between all 4 wheels. But not as good as those RWD biased AWD car. I won't say the name of that car. But the RWS system on Porsche is pretty nerd, it do the same thing "balance the traction between all 4 wheels" and "avoid understeer by increase turning radius" and that XX-R will not always do the same thing. It'll bring some moderate oversteer to increase steering sharpness and put power to the front to offer front end pull. Porsche is like traction all over the place without adjust ability. I know this comment will piss all Porsche fanboys. I don't care, coz all they can do is worshiping the Porsche without knowing the facts.

LAUNCH CONTROL 東瀛戰神 Since he failed to specify the velocity at which it's generated, it still could mean almost ANYTHING....

    • @derbigpr500
      @derbigpr500 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

LAUNCH CONTROL 東瀛戰神 As a mechanical engineer who knows quite a bit about this car, I will tell you that you're literally completely clueless, and reading your comments on various car related videos is becoming annoying. You don't know what the hell you're talking about, because everything you wrote explains your lack of understanding of even the basics of this topic, so why do you feel the need to insult "Porsche fanboys" and claim they are worshiping Porsche without knowing the facts, when you yourself know nothing at all about it, and are clearly a GT-R fanboy? I usually wouldn't give someone a lesson like this one, but I've seen a bunch of your comments on various car videos, where you say something stupid that proves your lack of knowledge that's so typical for GT-R fanboys, and then you following it up with insults towards others who don't agree with you. And DO READ THIS, you'll actually learn something.
No, I'm not a Porsche fanboy, this is totally unrelated to this car, I'm talking about your general lack of understanding of cars. Next time don't try to explain a technology you don't understand, especially if you fail to explain even the most basic parts of it, and then end it all by insulting others who know infinitely more than you.
Just to highlight and quote the best-of-the-best when it comes being clueless:
      1. "The rear steer the same way as the front means less relied on front tires." - No, the rears don't steer the same way as the fronts, they steer at a far lesser angle. It means he's actually more relied on front tires, because the grip due to RWS will move towards the front of the car. He will gain more grip on the front, WITHOUT losing grip in the rear, which is what RWS does, in a regular car if you switch the balance to front tires by softening the front spring rate or making the rears stiffer, or doing the same thing with anti-roll bars, adding more camber on the front, or stiffer bump dampening, putting wider tires on front, adding more downforce to the front or reducing it at the rear, or any other way of doing it, you'll automatically lose some grip in the rear. With RWS, you gain more grip in the front, more control in the front, more precision in the front, while maintaining the grip in the rear. That's why it's used in the first place. Making it more relied on rear tires as you say would add under steer.
      2. "Again, RWS means larger turning radius.", "avoid understeer by increase turning radius" - Not even going to comment on that one, it's just pure lack of understating elementary school physics on your part. I'd just like to know - how do you avoid understeer by increasing the turning radius, when understeer happens due to the front tires losing grip and the car not being able to follow the line due to an INCREASED TURNING RADIUS. Double negative doesn't turn into a positive here, you know?
      3. "It's like transferring understeer into distance." - No...again, you clearly haven't taken high school physics yet.
      4. "means the rear may have to due with both forward traction and lateral grip" - Rear tires ALWAYS deal with longitudinal and lateral traction, especially in a car that has over 60% of the weight on the rear axle. They do play a big role in lateral grip, that's why the car wants to oversteer in the first place, because it loses lateral grip (usually in combination of losing the longitudinal grip) in the rear. Adding RWS actually increases the turning capability of the car by reducing the turning radius, even without increasing the lateral grip of the rear tires , because they're technically turning at a lesser angle in relation to the line the car is taking than they would in a car without RWS, again, that's why the system is used in the first place, because it's better than just regular RWD. Basically, RWS will give you an effect of having rear tires with more grip, without actually having to use rear tires that have more grip, and without switching the balance to the rear, adding understeer. If you put tires with more grip to the rear on a regular car, you'll get more grip in the rear, but you will get understeer in the front. With RWS, you can theoretically keep the same tires, but still gain more effective grip in the rear, without adding understeer, in fact you're doing the opposite. It's like turning the car around the central vertical axis. It's hard to explain this in a short comment without drawing it on the paper, but basically, RWS will give you more grip in the rear without losing grip in the front, and vice versa.
      5. "Porsche is like traction all over the place without adjust ability" - Actually, the AWD in the GT-R you were explaining is like that. Porsche can be adjusted a lot, due to being properly balanced. Only someone who has absolutely no clue what he's talking about could ever claim that Porsches lack adjustability and just grip all over the place...
You can induce oversteer or understeer at your will and you can play on the limit of grip very easily. AWD cars like GT-R usually don't offer that, they grip and can't be adjusted much, until you run out of grip, then the car will understeer or oversteer. You won't really adjust the GT-R much in the middle of the corner, the best you can do is flick it into the corner too hard to induce some oversteer, or floor it on the corner exit and hope you've done it aggressively enough to induce some oversteer, if you slowly add throttle mid corner, GT-R will understeer, especially in mid-speed corners on road tires, if you do it in a properly balanced RWD car, it will accelerate out of the corner following the line you want, because the slight effect of oversteer (without actually losing grip or oversteering) that the RWD adds will counter balance the larger radius required to go trough the corner due to the acceleration and increase in the speed of the car (if the speed you're traveling at is higher, the radius of the line the car is taking will be larger, if you drive in circles, the faster you travel, the larger the circle will be if you maintain the same level of lateral grip). That's the famous feeling of being pushed out of the corner that you get in proper RWD cars, instead of feeling like you're pulled out of the corner like in FWD or most AWD cars.

derbigpr500 Yes I m a GTR fanboy so? I love this car, anything wrong? Straight to the point
      1) I am not saying it steer same angle, I an saying that it steers the same WAY above 50. You probably copied what I said, RWS will steer a bit with the front means the actual turning is less sharper than it should and the turning radius will be increased. That'll avoid understeer coz the rear is helping the car to turn. However, GT3RS is RWD, the rear tire have to withstand both forward thrust and lateral force means it'll be more loose compare to non RWS car. Easier term, this system gain traction by increase turning radius above 50.
"if you switch the balance to front tires by softening the front spring rate or making the rears stiffer, or doing the same thing with anti-roll bars"
You don't want to softening the front spring rate, making rear stiffer, etc... coz again, the rear wheel will is steering a bit as well. if you light up the rear, the rear will start sliding coz RWS relied more on rear wheels than non rear wheel steer car and when you apply throttle, the rear will power oversteer. You actually want more weight transfer at the rear.
"adding more camber on the front"
Adding more front camber? The RWS had already fix the understeering issue, adding more camber means less handling on front, coz you want vertical camber on outer wheel and slightly negative camber on inner to gain some grip. When you steer, the grip of front relied on outer front, not inner. When you increased camber, both wheel might have too much camber and ruin what RWS gains. Adding tire and down force? Seriously? Still doesn't got enough tire and down force in the GT3RS?
      2) You're pretty stupid. When the rear steer the same side as the front, MEANS turning radius will be increase FOR SURE. That's not even physics, it's Grade 8 science. When the turning radius increased, will automatically require less traction, and when the rear wheel steer the same way as the front, means the turning effort will shared by the rear, less traction relied, less understeer. As simple as that.
      3) You keep saying no, explain your clever thoughts then..... Genius. Better than you saying increase camber, softness the front damper... You talk like an American engineer who build Mustang. No! We're talking about track car not Muscle car.
      4) Rear always due with forward and lateral traction for sure, but the force of lateral grip will decrease by wheelbase. However, when the rear steer as well, means the force will be increased again and depends on how much you steer. Simple physics
"that's why the car wants to oversteer in the first place, because it loses lateral grip"
Not at all, the RWS won't quite allow you to oversteer at all. It's not Audi. To oversteer a GT3RS is difficult coz when you did, (especially both front and rear steers the same side. That'll increase your turning radius even more.
"Adding RWS actually increases the turning capability of the car by reducing the turning radius"
Porsche said, below 50, the rear will steer the opposite direction. That'll decrease turning radius. NOW you're saying the turning radius will be decrease when the rear steer the same direction as front? WTF?? Do u know half of what you're saying?
"that's why the system is used in the first place, because it's better than just regular RWD."
It isn't better than regular RWD, It just works differently. Take 458 Speciale as an example, it'll gain moderate oversteer to increase steering sharpness. Means the turning radius will be decrease. On tight turns, the 458 is more agile and on fast turns, it may loose. Same goes to RWS, on tight turns, it may not steer as agile as regular RWD but on fast turns, it'll gain better traction than regular RWD.
"Adding RWS actually increases the turning capability of the car by reducing the turning radius, even without increasing the lateral grip of the rear tires , because they're technically turning at a lesser angle in relation to the line the car is taking than they would in a car without RWS"
Exactly what I'm saying, increase traction by steer with the front. Easier term, increase traction by increase turning radius. Don't tell me it won't increase turning radius when rear steer WITH the front.
However, it'll lose grip at the time it steer. What you're saying is traction while turning, what I'm saying is the moment it start turning. More steering effort means easier to lose grip. The Porsche RWS share turning force between front and rear and I'm not talking about the time you're turning, I'm talking about the moment you START steering, it might break loose instantly. With RWD layout, it'll be even worst, once the Porsche break all traction, the car will slides side ways and take a very wide turn. Not agile at all. Down side of AWD is understeer while too much power at the front, Down side of AWS is increasing turning radius and break traction on all 4 wheels like AWD. Also, steering force on tires can be decrease/ increase by shorter/ longer wheelbase. Loner wheelbase mean less forces at the rear coz effort force* effort distance= Work in. It works the same way as RWS, long wheelbase= less oversteer by increasing effort distance, short wheelbase= more oversteer by decreasing effort distance. Get it?
      5. "Actually, the AWD in the GT-R you were explaining is like that."
      Bullshit of the year.
GTR's ATTESA ET-S (GT-R) AWD system is RWD based and RWD biased. With a 1.5 way limited slip, it's insanely agile with such heavy body. Have a look at Nurburg, 17 seconds ahead 991 GT3, on a tight Brit track, only 0.2 second behind not to mention it's Standard Nismo not N attack.
Let's talk about the Nismo, The ETS AWD is one of the most adjustable handling system. 100% power will be sent to the rear most of the time. Only 50% power sent to the front when needed. The most interesting part is moderate oversteer, at mid corner, it'll send more power to the rear and the traction control+ stability control will be delayed compare to non Nismo GTR, the reason is to let the car rotate, "slide" the reason is: decrease turning radius. At turn out, it'll perform power oversteering, but not too much, you don't have to counter steer to stay in line, once it detect the raw rate is too high, the system will send power to the front. Again, down side is "if too much power at the front "open diff" it'll understeer due to too much power at the loose wheel and too much forces from different angle at the tires.
In conclusion, not AWD but GTR's AWD works better and more intelligent that Porsche AWS. My facts proved it and lap times proved it.
Best term, AWD share forward traction, AWS share lateral traction but GTR share forward traction better than Porsche share lateral traction. Probably because RWS suck in this and the program is lack of adjust ability.

Nathan Barrett you only call him random because you obviously are not knowledgable enough to know who he is. Watch the vid of Chris Harris in Spa on a Ford Falcon or the Goodwood vid and hopefully the penny will drop that Mr. Andrew Frankel is anything but a random reviewer. In the car industry he is a very well known and respected man.
If you compare the truth to your limited view it is in fact quite funny how far off you are.
