Peter My ultra wide angle lens is a 8mm 3.5 Samyang A lens you set the Aperture through the camera wide open its fisheye stopped down its ultra wide angle lens I have used it to photograph buildings and churches when you have no option but to get close to the subject.
I have a 7Artisans 12mm f2.8 which I use for street photography , architecture and some landscape .Its a good lens especially at the price of £149 sterling !! Its sharper than I expected and although its fully manual only , I have not found this to be a problem. At first the weight issue was a bit of an issue but I've got used to it now ! For the money its certainly a bargain !!
My widest is 14mm (FF equivalent) but in general I seldom shoot wider than 20'ish mm (FF) Handy inside churches, cathedrals, temples and tight indoor spaces (museums for example)
For mykorfour system, this lens is equivalent to 20mm focal length? I have Olympus lens 12-40 mm corresponding to 24..Do not see the point with 20 mm focal length, other than larger light opening?
A wide lens to think wide :) The smaller the focal length, the greater the fear of distortion; based on your images I assume this lens is rectlinear and it woks well. I like the images you posted and I also appreciate the view at 1:56 (in video mode); in this image I would have seen an "undarknessing" of the lower part with a flash. In your experience, is flash shooting possible in street photography or is it too demanding to hope for satisfaction? Thank you for this discovery of a very affordable lens for those who want to discover the wide-angle mode.
It is not complitely rectlinear, but the distortions are not that bad. Flash can be used in street photography. It is a slightly different approach. It is hard to be invisible when the flash goes on. In some contrasty situation a flash could be helpful. I have not really used flash in my street photography. If I was, I would use it when there is a lot of sunlight and deep shadows.
The price is good, it's nice to have such a lens for general use : street, architecture, landscape. The weakness of this lens is flare. If you are shooting frecvently against the sun (sunrises, sunsets), this lens is not the best choice. My favourite wide lens is a Samyang 7.5mm F/3.5 fisheye. It's sharp and decent against sun. Now I bought Nisi 9mm F/2.8 and I am curious how it will perform, maybe this will become my favourite wide lens.
The widest I've ever used is 21mm on my film cameras. However, I just find it too difficult to use and never pursued it since with digital. Framing and composition becomes a real challenge, especially when the main subject matter needs to be positioned carefully as it can easily get lost amongst the background.
The widest lens I have is the Olympus 12mm f2.0. I mainly use it for indoors and landscapes.
I have a 7artisans 7.5mm f2.8.. got me best ever street shots with it in Morocco..😍

Great video Thanks Peter. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thank you.
Hi Peter, I've been doing some B&W street photography this morning, with an analog Olympus Pen half frame!
Cool! It is a marvelous camera. I have one too. Have not used it that much. I should use it a lot more.

I also have this lens. It can produce amazing street photography pictures from low angle (ground level).
True, that would be a good use for it.

I have the Nisi 9mm F2.8 lens. Here is my video about it: th-cam.com/video/qoW-Puh5MTM/w-d-xo.html
Yes, I know your video about Nisi 9mm. I watched it when you launched it.
Widest....the wide end of my Olympus 12-45 f/4 (14-90mm FF equiv). But I rarely use wider than 35mm (FF equiv).

I agree that wide-angle is challenging in many situations.
Ill use my 6mm Laowa for my om1 lol. Thats a fun lens
I agree, it is a fun lens.
How does the IBIS work during video shooting with this lens?
Quite well.
