Midtown Omaha here, my son and I were watching through our door and heard our tree snap in half. Really scary to watch that wind bend these huge mature trees!
Amazing capture of ball lightning at exactly 1:00 - It comes from the upper right, down a bit and zips from the to right to the left and toward the ground. Ball lightning is fairly common in electrical storms, but hard to catch if you don't know what it looks like.
Not to, ah, rain on any parades here, but in the entirety of TH-cam, there is not a single convincing specimen of ball lightning. At the very least, that dispels any notion that it's "common." It's a common wives' tale and a popular myth, but out of millions of hours of storm footage, it just hasn't manifested. You can see another of this so-called "ball lightning" at 1:14, only this time it plainly passes in front of the nearby trees, revealing that these bright spots are just foliage debris floating down and being pushed to the left by the wind. The grainy video quality (it's nighttime and cameras tend to suck at night) keeps this from being immediately obvious.
Yea i wa wondering wat that was ive never seen it before thats neat but wst cam after id pass on i live in texas panhandle and this one seemed a lil stealthy not a trait u want tonadoes to have it sounds like it came on very fast hope everyone was ok
@@ItsonlyaJimmy yeah, my family finished their steak at perfect timing when the power went out I was watching TV when it went out I ate subway for the 10th in the morning and for lunch and dinner and it was so hot without power. I think the humidity and high heat that usually causes storms I saw the radar and damn the thing got huge.

I think it was the leaves. Other people think it was ball lightning.
