I live in Virginia too. My Momma grew up in Mississippi, and then she had to move to Virginia. That's where the rest of her family was. She always felt like there was an empty spot in her soul after that. The two of you feel the same way. So I really hope you find everything you feel like you have lost with in the years that went by.
@@morganproffitt5886 where i live we have been over ran with NY and NJ folks. Unfortunately they brought their culture with them and it has taken over most places. There are still pockets of good ole southern folks but it has changed drastically. I'm on the eastern shore. Tourism has it's price. Thank you and God bless.
I actually know exactly how you feel on that subject. I live near a very popular lake, and every year, people (mostly from New York) come in the late spring or early summer for their vacations. They will stay for months at a time. Now, I've met a handful really of really nice and upbeat New Yorkers, and a ton of really rude, negative, and mean spirited ones. I love all different kinds of people from all different walks of life, but I don't understand why a lot of New York people are hateful like that. They seem like they are so unhappy, even when they are trying to escape their city and spend quality time with their loved ones. People around here have also made restraunts, stores, gift shops, and just everything for them, to bring in money. And it works. But, I don't like it because, the hateful ones look down on us country folks. They think we are stupid and garbage, when we aren't. I know this because a New York man told me that to my face. It hurt my feelings so bad and it also caused a huge fight. So I understand all that your saying and feeling. God bless you too friend and I'll be praying for you.

I have to sneak in here and apologize for any New Jerseyans who were not appreciative guests! It’s hard to accept that someone from here could be disrespectful to the people who live where they visit. It happens here, too, especially down the shore. I think they just aren’t teaching courtesy any more. I hope that the good visitors outweigh the inconsiderate ones!

We had a friendly bf family in the woods around here that would throw a rock on our request just to let us know they were there when we hung out in the woods at night a very cool experience so many ways letting us know they are very intelligent we enjoyed their presence oh and Happy Birthday Linda

I'm only 24, I'm so happy to hear people getting up to that age and still making friends amd telling their stories over the internet. My Granny is a widow and I watched how it makes people feel, not looking forward to going through that with my husband, or him having to go through it. Hope I never have to go through being widowed, cant imagine life without him. And happy birthday Linda.

I guess you would just automatically blurt out the word "murder" if you saw an animal ripped limb for limb and heard it's bones being crunched. My two cats, as well fed as they are, constantly murder mice, squirrels, birds and lizards and invite me to partake of their bounty by meowing loudly for me to come join in on the squirrel guts they sometimes leave under the kitchen table for me. It's murder if you constantly have to clean up the crime scene, like I do.

Cam, Just to let you know, I know, that doing this channel is much more than just reading these stories to us. I also know that editing these stories is work, and just going thru your emails is time consuming, and at the same time, working a job. I, for one, really appreciate this channel. I am 70 now and have had several joint replacements and have had to 'laying around' so accessing this channel makes my life a little better. I have always been an outdoors person, hiking, canoeing and such. Anyway, this channel is as close as I can get to the outdoors. Thank you for all your dedication to this channel !!

Ricker....I know you are right. Our family was down at Turkey Run State Park....had a run in with one on a hike by Camels Back in the park. Heard strange screams that night. Loud ones that shook your breast bone. Ranger came by and said to stay close by our cabins. This was 1958. Oh, they are in Indiana..my Mothers family are Hoosiers....know a Lot about them woodboogers!😉
