- This is a quick look at how Gary's Hobbie Shop builds a Honda Gold Wing Trike in McDonough, Georgia. Sadly Gary is no longer with us, he passed away in July 2018. I'm leaving this video up as tribute to the excellent work for which he was known.

Gary was truly a one-of-kind person. We sure do miss him. 🙏We still see Barb from time-to-time.

that's cool. had no idea it was that labor intensive.
Have built one from scratch, no pre-made parts, all on me. It was the job that seemed never to end. Right now am re-doing one that was never put together even close to right. It's more work than fabbing up the first one because everything having been done wrongly, it's all got to be repaired before reassembly. I envy you kit-building people! Need an ace wrench with 40 years' experience?

I use to hate trikes and i wan't to keen on goldwings. Then a friend gave me a ride on the back of his wing trike and belive me it was awsome my face was hurting cos i could'nt laughing i now understand why people love em.

And out of curiosity what is the cost of such a project? I have a 1998 I was thinking about doing this to.
Mine is just the basic 38mm tube frame. 45 degree, 10" over front end.
Don't like all those suitcases bolted all it.
Loads of work for a kit.
But cool, if that's where you want to go...

Hi I have a Goldwing, gl1500 that has a champion kit. I found a aux tank from a 2000 goldwing. Any tapes on installing one?

Gary's Hobbie Shop specializes in Honda Gold Wing Trikes. On the cost, you'd have to give Gary a call (770-914-0407) www.garyshobbieshop.com/. There are Harley trike kits and installers out there, but I wouldn't know which ones to recommend.

Gary, i have a dumb. We had a 2018 Honda converted to a trike with a motor trike kit. My problem is the Battery is dead and I cannot figure out how to get cover off the trike to replace the battery. Do you have an idea how it do it.

Did he rake the front end? If not it will steer like a tank..ask me how I know.
Yes, generally he did, but the rake kit is a purchased option. Anyone purchasing a trike kit should always buy the rake kit. Unfortunately, we lost Gary to cancer in July 2018, his company is now out-of-business. The kits he installed were and still are made by California Side Car.

There really needs to be a clock on the wall. or a day readout.
This process took Gary an average of about two weeks or so. Before he passed away in 2018, he'd work on all the trike conversions in-between all the other Gold Wing maintenance, repairs & mods that were scheduled. He employed only one other person helping him. And, all the trike conversions he performed personally.
