I didn't realize how much Mark Lanegan's Blues Funeral meant to me until he passed. I was a homeless junkie with ptsd from numerous things, fresh out of the ARMY...fresh from deployment...fresh from divorce. These things tend to be packaged together. That album was a lifeline for me.
I saw Mark Lanegan live(Screeming Trees) 16 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since. His singing/songwriting will be the stuff college profs assign their students in 50 years. Incredible artist!
I love qotsa sound with Josh as singer, I mean that. Homme got original and multilaterally manner/voice. But you know what? Mark lead vocal is what qotsa been missing from the beginning. Pity 8^(
That voice..omg..it's like rust growing on velvet..from the depths of his soul ..What a tragic loss we've lost this lovely bloke...fuck I.cried like a baby when Layne & Cornell died...Lanegan's death added insult to injury for us all.Rest in peace big fellow ❤🌈 x
Layne Staley and Jim Morrison gave birth (somehow) to Mark Lanegan and it all makes such … perfect … sense. The lord works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform
@@thefalselemon579 there's no percussion at this set but he performed on SFTD and toured with them during that period. He also played on a few songs for Like Clockwork
This has got to be the best song of "Songs for the Deaf," Incredible. And the Gutter Twins are awesome, just now starting to listen to some solo Lanegan stuff, started off with "Bubblegum" as the previous poster stated, it's really good too.
This record was a quantum leap for rock and roll and I feel this also catapulted Dave growls future work with foo fighters. When you are surrounded by that much talent, you can't help but elevate one another. Rip mark lanegan
I can't help but think that Josh was best left out of this song. The gruffness of Mark's voice dominates and makes Josh sound stuffy and monotone and just kind of reduces Josh to background noise. That's the kind of talent Lanegan has!
i've heard some rumors that say Mark Lanegan has actually been created by companies like Marlboro to promote cigarettes by creating the illusion that it is impossible to have such an awesome voice, and thus that it has to be because of cigarettes ... just rumors of course
Ellensburg WA’s own Mark Lanegan killing it on vocals in this song. Such a badass. Nvm his work with Screaming Trees (Singles), Kurt Kobain and Mad Season with Layne Staley and Mike McCready. Profound singer songwriter. Even worked with Anthony Bourdain (Parts Unknown).
Such a great song and amazingly performed acoustically. I don't know which version is better, but I love the little guitar licks Troy throws down here.
Well, like you just said: despite all that most people don't seem to realize it. So why do you get so upset when someone asks about it, even though you yourself admit most people don't have a clue?
we used to smoke a joint in maastricht limburg holland under the hanging tree where no one could see us but the smell only was enough for the peopleto find us
A great band would be Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums Mark Lanegan on vocals and Will Ferrel........just doing cowbell because they all look similar
RIP to a legend. His voice contained so much emotion it's hard to describe.
😓😓
💚
Same, fuckin great singer! And it's so unexpected
Just learned today....been a fan since Screaming Trees days... RIP legend.
Effortless gravel. One in a million 🖤
Mark Lanegan watched Toy Story 3 and didn't cry.
This should be revived.
I like Mark's outfit. Looks like he just rolled out from under a minivan he was fixing the transmission on.

RIP Mark Lanegan, such a unique voice
R. I. P Mark 😪
Mark & Josh's voices sound great together! They each have a uniqueness to them.
Josh is the Queen and Lanegan is the Stone Age
I love his voice
Mark Lanegan and Josh Homme's voices go so well together.
And I like Nick's bass loud.
This performance is so damn good.
I wish I would have learned how much I love QOTSA sooner than I did. These guys are just the best. RIP Sir Lanegan!
I saw Mark Lanegan live(Screeming Trees) 16 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since. His singing/songwriting will be the stuff college profs assign their students in 50 years. Incredible artist!
Mark Lanegan and Josh Homme’s vocals sound so good together, it should be illegal.
Oh boy.... His voice is something special.... Never will be forgotten
Can't believe he's gone. This man changed my life. RIP Mark
Met him a few years ago. Tremendous loss of very rare talent and true visionary. Rest In Peace, Mark. 🖤
What did happen?
@@fernandaluiz6169 I think he died from COVID complications.
@@ripperplaysclon152 Cause of death was not released. If someone claimed vaccine you would be telling them not to speculate
Lanegan is like Tom Waits meets Layne Staley and I love it.
Was one of his best friends, do yourself a favour and listen to his audiobook sideways in reverse outfickingstanding!!
@@leonardfwuckle what about sing backwards and weep? What a great book
Bubblegum has been my favorite album for the past 4 years. all his solo stuff is great but anyone new to him needs that album
Mark Lanegan will always be purely incredible! ♥️
I LOVE Mark Lanegan, he's a fine specimen of a man YUM!
last time i heard a harmony that good it was between mr staley and mr cantrell!
Imagine a cover for 'long gone day'..
I love qotsa sound with Josh as singer, I mean that. Homme got original and multilaterally manner/voice. But you know what? Mark lead vocal is what qotsa been missing from the beginning. Pity 8^(

One of my favourite all time vocalists.
Yes I was only playing winding sheet yesterday
@meandmusic1980 Mark Lanegan's darker voice really did a lot for the Deaf album. ...and when him and Homme do the chorus on this it's fuckin' trippy.
Layne Staley and Jim Morrison gave birth (somehow) to Mark Lanegan and it all makes such … perfect … sense.

Lanegan rips my heart out.
Hey, Will Ferrell has a beautiful voice.
This has got to be the best song of "Songs for the Deaf," Incredible.

+101ohok To be fair Josh is singing harmony to Mark"s lead.
The fact that Josh is such a great singer in his own right makes this insane... but yeah the song is better suited to Mark's voice!
the faces ML makes, how can you not love him :))) can't wait to see hm in Warsaw again, for the 3rd time ;))))
Goodnight, sweet prince
Эта музыка и неповторимый вокал Марка,разрушают мою душу...

Where can I find this in HD, please?
Thanks for the upload Ligia, I guess this is the upload I've been watching for 16 years.

I don't know why Screaming Trees is not famous!!
Such a great song and amazingly performed acoustically. I don't know which version is better, but I love the little guitar licks Troy throws down here.
