Just a short tip for a next one Steve; as soon as you hit the underlayment with the cylindrical saw, you should be able to take out the pilot drill. Also, lowering the drill speed increases the impact of the sawing action. People often burn up these cylindrical saws by speeding them up and pressing the power tool too much. The sawing action doesn’t require high speed, nor pressure.
You are to drill down with a 1/8" drill bit. Then remove the drill bit from the hole saw and install the guide they gave you with it. insert it in the 1/8" hole you drilled and the cut your hole. I always cut up to the cork and then use and exacto knife to remove the cork and I have installed 8 so far and never any track damage. They work perfect.

Great video Steve. I was wondering about these, im currently using the Kadee magnetic kind and getting mixed results. Im pondering the idea of redoing my entire layout, if I do then that would be the time to install these from the top by the looks of it.
I would send feed back to the guys at rapido and let them know about this so hopefully that they will update the instructions or do a video showing the proper wiring
The mag, is so strong im think it would have pulled through your cork and roadbed? Have you tried just cutting the 3/4 plywood only? im not sure if i want to see the round disc? good video and thanks for making.
have you tried taking your trip pins off your couplers to see if it still works I was kind of curious if it but thanks for the vid didn't know these ones were around I know kadee has some
1:31 What ? The track shorting out ? That's stuff jiggling around in the white cylinder !! What does the DCC system have to do with that ?! His hands are 7" above the track shaking it....Plus Kadee has an electrified uncoupler, too.

Does this only work for those types a couplers or does it work on others?
Something you didn't mention is power supply is 12 vote DC.
The old saying - do not use uncoupling magnets on the main line, now this idea is great to have on the main line if reallyneeded.
