I might be talking outta my àśś but I'm pretty sure the turfmaster is a comercial grade timemaster but that's just my guess I know the biggest issue with the timemaster was the gas tank size.

I'll stick with my Timemaster 30. Much lighter, more comfortable. I'm solo and have a ton of hours on mine. If you have a crew, stick with good quality 21 or 22" mowers. You'll have less repairs and headaches. For me, the 30" is a true time saver being solo. Great video.

I have been wondering if the timemaster would be a better option for me. I only cut twice a week with about 550 cuts a season as I do other jobs. Thinkng that with a timemaster I can replace every year or every two years before any big issues come along.

Used Timemaster 30" for the last 6 yrs for 20 lawns every 10 days. After the 3yr mark, there is a cascade of part failure besides the normal maintenance items like belts and cables, like wheel axle assembly, wheel height adjusters, handle bars snapping in half. Is the Turfmaster wear and tear on these parts the same or better? The cables seem to go quickly. I'd have extra of those on hand as well. Over those six years, about $1500 - $2000 has been spent on parts and maintenance items for the (2)Toro Timemasters. Having said all that, the Toro Timemaster has produced a superior cut that I'd assume would be the same for the Toro Turfmaster.

Excellent real life statement here!!!!. Because of the weight of these 30's(especially a 230lb scag) they beat up the crews and actually reduce productivity. I went with the YBravo Gen II 25" commercial FJ180 Fawasaki 130 lbs. not much heavier then a 21", just as manuverable, only $1400 bucks and the couple of extra inches does increase productivity.

Very interesting that you haven't noticed much difference between the Kawasaki and Kohler engines. I bought a commercial Toro 21" in the spring with the Kohler Command Pro 173 cc engine. I have been really disappointed with the mower. It has no power compared to the Kawasaki FJ180v. My dealer adjusted the rpm to 3200 and it still seems to have trouble generating enough lift to give as good of a cut as you see with the Kawasaki engine. I also had a starter rope break at 80 hours and last month, when temperatures dropped to 10 degrees celsius and lower, it would take 15-20 pulls, on average, to get it started.
