- getting back from punta cana (crazy travel day), living at autumn and landon’s bc my apartment flooded, seeing the damages at my apartment, unboxing, working out, making my oatmeal on the go, working night shifts, aut and landon get engaged in hawaii, decorating their apartment & more!!!

Although you did just move into your new apartment, one of the most important things to know about apartment hunting is making sure that there’s no signs of mold or anything dangerous like that. If the pipes bursting is a thing that’s knowing to happen in your apartment building, all of the tenants living there should file a complaint.
From my experience with issues in an apartment, as long as they are working on the issue, no law has been broken. They are drying out the units (presumably there are several since the pipe burst above the unit above Anna’s place). This will take time due to the humidity of summer. From there, they then need to get an inspector to go to all units to test for mold, and they likely have to tear out ceilings and walls, which is going to be very, very lengthy. They need to compensate each tenant for this, but they are working on it. But they need to give all tenants, including Anna, answers about timelines. NYC is not a cheap place to live and they need compensation asap.
I am a PICU nurse and absolutely love it. I love getting to know my patients and watching them come back from being really sick. The hardest part is those patients that don't recover. Some hit harder than others.
As a new grad in the PICU, I would definitely say it’s one of the hardest things I’ve experienced yet 😅 but the things you learn are insane, the skills you gain are immense and getting to help the really sick kiddies go home is the best feeling !!
I’m a picu nurse and I LOVE it. Having just 1-2 kids that you know super super well is so nice bc you get super close with them and their family bc they’re typically there for so long. And I’m an adrenaline junkie so I love it for that reason too bc it always keeps me on my toes.
I’m so happy you have such amazing friends that are not only able but willing to host you while this nightmare with your apt has happened. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. You really chose a great couple of humans for friends! ❤

Anna, check with the NYC landlord/tenant act. You can get your rent back while they fix the damage. You can also break your lease legally.

The syrup you use, if you go to certain grocery stores they sell the organic in a bigger tub instead of glass and it’s a little bit cheaper and still just as yummy!!!

Honestly, i love seeing the sick of the sickest. Even though it breaks my heart to see kids in that situation. BUT, the best part is when I see the kids getting transferred out of picu over to peds med surg.
