    You can control signal delay on every channel as a standard option without adding to your FX rack. Clicking the small D in a circle on the far right, after the master channel, will show this panel

    • @genesis_tracks
      @genesis_tracks  ปีที่แล้ว

      As I've mentioned in a previous comment, yes I am aware that this does already exist and it does have it's advantages. However, there are a few things you can't do when you have the signal delay set up that way:
      > Turn on & off signal delay throughout the track
      > Automate the signal delay amount
      > Use signal delay in individual cells of drum racks
      > Print the signal delay to stems
      Another thing is that I do these kinds of videos with non-Ableton users in mind too and some DAWs won't have that feature, so doing it this way makes it DAW inclusive. Hope this helps!

    This video was put together very well. Great knowledge centered around the delay effect. Thanks for teaching us GENES!S, keep it up brother :)

      Next one will be about frequency shifters with vocoders if that suits your fancy!

    Wait hold on. Isn't signal delay BUILT IN Ableton. I use it all the time for my basses and basically everything. U click the D button to show the delay settings

    • @junk06
      @junk06 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is

    • @wheniztheend
      @wheniztheend ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This seems like a more convoluted way to do the same thing. Unless there is something I'm missing (how it works in the effect chain).

    • @junk06
      @junk06 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wheniztheend I think it's all down to preference since I don't see any advantages of having it in the effects chain compared to using the built in feature

    • @ToxicJassassin
      @ToxicJassassin ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a couple differences I can think of, the delay track delay on the far right of ableton has the advantages of being easy to access, easy to use, and the ability to pre-delay track content, adding a delay effect (for signal delay) inside the track has the advantages of being positionable before other audio effects, being able to be applied to specific chains in the track, and being automateable.

    • @genesis_tracks
      @genesis_tracks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is built in, but apparently when it comes to rendering the choon the delays wouldn't be printed in
      if that got fixed in a later update (since i'm using an early version of ableton live 10 suite), then you can do it in whichever way you'd like!
      And plus, from my experience, it's caused latency when starting n stopping projects. The additional option of being able to automate the signal delay also helps for me in different parts of the song.
      I also made this tutorial with other DAWs in mind and some of em may not have that feature built in.
      Sorry for the wall of text but I hope it helps!

    man, beside ur incredible vids, what is your keyboard's reference ?

    • @genesis_tracks
      @genesis_tracks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do mean by keyboard's reference?
      If you're on about what MIDI keyboard I'm using, its the Komplete Kontrol m32.
      For my computer keyboard, its the YMD-96 Sandwich Kit.
      If it's something else, please let me know.
      Cheers!
