Victor Buono, by all accounts a fine and generous, kind man of the greatest character, seemed to take an inordinate delight in playing the heavy. Couldn't resist. Fond memories of his grand performances, just shy enough of over-the-top, and his audiences loved every minute of it.
Victor Charles was such a wonderful and talented man!! Such beautiful eyes too! It is difficult to believe that he was only on his 30's when this was filmed. He always looked so much older than he was. Sadly he died so young. Nice to see Richard Pryor in the small bit at the 4m25s mark!
This show and BATMAN were my 2 favorites as a kid! I just turned 54 in May. I forgot what a STUD " Mr. West' was! Robert Conrad! Also Victor Bouno was a great actor who passed at just 43 on New Year's day 1982.( Heart attack) " King Tut" in Batman! ( Adam West just passed on June 9, 2017 at 88')...Such a CLASSIC ERA of so many greats! Also @ 4:10 ..It's Richard fucking Pryor!!
Oh of course he did. Victor Buono was a shameless ham and reveled in being such, much to the endless entertainment of millions. The same whenever he played King Tut on Batman.
Loveless was overused and the scripts in later episodes some were really terrible . Especially the robin hood and the one were West and the Indian princess are shrunk by loveless , just bad.
Dr. Loveless portrayed by the late diminutive Michael Dunn and Count Carlos Lorenzo Roughsphier Manzeppi brought to life by the late Victor Buono both gave villians a certain sophistication and intelligence that villians portrayed on other Westerns could never duplicate.
Well "overused" or not Dr. Loveless portrayed by the late diminutive Michael Dunn certainly "overused" all those money deposit slips at his Bank when he went there to cash all his checks💰💵💰💵💰 from The Wild Wild West. Now go run and tell that😏
Same, I love Micheal Dunn, a great man but hated Dr. Loveless as he loved to cause pain, Manzeppi seemed more to respect Gordon and West than actively hate them. Sure he tried to kill them but he did not really try to humiliate them like Dr. Loveless.
@@nathangoedeke694 I love this show as a kid. I still do. In my head My dream episode would be a two or three parter where Dr. Loveless, Count Manzeppi, Emma Valentine and Tycho(Raven) all teamed up to take out West and Gordon for good.
No respectable cowboy in the Wild West would never have their trousers fit so tight as Mr. West's. I just could not get into the mind set of a really pretty cowpoke. I mean...never a bruise, a cut, a wound.....his are never moved. Wild Wild West was a Wild Wild Mess. I like Conrad...but not in this farce. Now, Buono is playing it for all the camp possible...and he is carrying it off fairly well. I miss his performances....loved him in What ever happened to Baby Jane....he was a real talent in the character genre...too bad they never let him star or co star in some nice period piece or perhaps a John Wayne Gacy movie. But, alas he pasted away too soon. Seemed like such a fun guy......he reminded me of Perry Mason,,,sort of...They both had very striking eyes....and they were both gay...Talent will out!

I love VICTOR BUONO, a highly underrated actor.
Buono usually played much older characters due to his weight. He was only age 28 in 1966.

They don't have actors like this anymore that and this show are not even close to being Replaced

ACTOR VICTOR BUONO HAD STYLE
I think Victor Buono RELISHED being "The Count."
Oh of course he did. Victor Buono was a shameless ham and reveled in being such, much to the endless entertainment of millions. The same whenever he played King Tut on Batman.
@@LordZontar agreed. I wish he had a couple more episodes as The Count. He really did seem to be enjoying himself.
I think he relished every evil villain part he played
I much preferred Count Manzeppi to Doctor Loveless.

@@williamjones6276 And don't forget at least a TOUCH of humor!
RICHARD PRYOR cameo at 4:10!! Still love Victor as this character.
I just love the music at 0:00 and 1:48.
Artemus: "You're a Count, why don't you count?" 🤣 🤣 🤣
Funny clip. I see a very young Richard Pryor at 4:10
I thought I was seeing things for a second!
Victor Buono was 28 here. TWENTY. EIGHT.
I actually preferred Count Mazeppi to Dr. Loveless.
Same, I love Micheal Dunn, a great man but hated Dr. Loveless as he loved to cause pain, Manzeppi seemed more to respect Gordon and West than actively hate them. Sure he tried to kill them but he did not really try to humiliate them like Dr. Loveless.
You just don’t see tans like that anymore.
Victor was so god damn hot! Especially as Manzeppi, where they let him show off some of his best qualities.
It was never discussed but was the Count just a clever magician or was he an actual Sorcerer?
Most of what he does is just clever tricks but it is heavily implied that he has some real magic as well

Time Lord renegade.
I thought he was a sorcerer myself.
Mount Canzeppi
Nothing, except die.

He was dead at 43 looking like he was 63 as Jim Ignatowski's father. So long Dad.
