Uncle Arthur is right up there with Aunt Clara for the title of “Best Relative!” Fun Fact: Paul Lynde originally appeared in the Season 1 episode “Driving is the Only Way to Fly” as Harold Harold, Samantha’s nervous driving instructor. He got along so well with Elizabeth Montgomery and the rest of the crew that they decided to create the role of Uncle Arthur just for him! :D
I think one of the reasons I liked Uncle Arthur so much as a kid was that my real life uncles were dreary and depressing. What kid wouldn't want an uncle like Uncle Arthur? I would have loved it. And Paul Lynde played him beautifully.

The best Uncle Arthur was when he was teaching Darren to put a spell on Endora. Remember it ALL these years. Arthur said said "say Yagasoozo, yagazooza, yagazooza zem"Then ring this magic bell 3 times... and blow the whistle. Never laughed so hard. Why is it never shown any more??
Samantha and Darrin reminded me of my own parents. 😁Mom and I used to watch this every morning before school. And we used to laugh hysterically at Uncle Arthur and his antics. His laugh was infectious.😂

There was a great gag where Arthur comes in and says he has to sit down because his feet were killing him. Camera pans down to his feet where two revolvers go off. The result is his laughing and Sam looking exasperated. It's a great sight gag, especially if you see it before any written synopsis of the scene!
My late sister Linda said she met Paul Lynde when she was part of the backstage crew of John Kenley's "The Kenley Players" in Akron, Ohio during the late 1970's.

His 2 greatest pranks were the "yagga zuzzi" spell a la Darrin, and the voice switch! I always love episodes where someone has a voice problem! But I really must say that the Napoleon one was an accident rather than a prank.
Paul Lynde was so funny as Uncle Arthur of Samantha relatives l loved that he brought the funniest and humor to Bewitched on his visits to see Samantha and Tabitha he was a funny Warlock l liked Uncle Arthur .
Paul Lynde was also the voice of Mildew Wolf from the Cattonooga Cats kids show...another great memory from my childhood of the early 70's...along with Banana Splits...priceless..
