I both hate and love that jerk. The actor was so freaking good that a little part of me wanted him and Yang to have a relationship while the other part wanted him to be killed by Yang... 🤔 Characters of this show are really well written, you can hate one and in the next episode feel some compassion for him
Tangqisi never knew love. He was raised in a power greed family. He craved it from his father, when his father only ever gave praise to Wang Yu, an outsider. That always hurt him. He did love Nyang in his own way but since he never knew true love, it turned into an obsession. Tangqisi was the first man to know that Nyang was a woman. And he loved her cuz he never met a woman quite like her. Yet he witnessed Wang Yu and Nyang's love in front of his own eyes and he knew he could never beat that so his love turned into hatred and revenge. I really loved Tangqisi's character. His pain in his eyes and body language when Danasiri was hanged, broke my heart. Good job to the actor
He can't believe there's actually a woman who can defy him and although she's infront of her she can't have her either not because he can't but she don't want him the way he did for her.. Nyang has a lot of men wrap around her palm but I mean who can blame them she's irresistible.. I've never seen a woman as bad ass in any historical drama as Hajiwon portrayed the character, her transformation through out physically and all is just incredibly well put together,its just that the ending isn't how I was expecting it..
Also, I wanted to mention---I think Nyang had the best chemistry with Tanquishi and TalTal. Oddly enough. I think it's because they were the 2 extremes of love: Tanquishi had the dangerous/obsessive/possessive love for her, while TalTal had the beautiful/self-sacrificing/selfless love for her. Two sides of the spectrum. The normal male leads fell in the middle (more typical love).
WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD: I pitied Tanquishi, but I was also happy when he met his end. So I guess I had mixed feelings about his character overall (since I felt bad for him a lot of the time). He grew up around power-hungry people and an abusive father (at least from the glimpses we saw). He never seemed to know what love is because he was never shown genuine love. Praise and recognition seemed to be things he craved from his father, and his father gave that to someone like Wang Yu who was a stranger and not his own son. Tanquishi also seemed to love Nyang in his own twisted way, but of course he didn't know what real love was---so it turned into obsession. Honestly, as much as he hated her and wanted to avenge his family...I don't think he would have ever personally killed her. However, she had no problem killing him (he killed her mother after all) because he never let her see his affection or care (remember when he had a servant poison the consort because he knew she wouldn't do it and didn't want any bad consequences for her?). She had no idea he ever tried to help her or cared for her at all. Even though he sort of knew she hated him, he still seemed really surprised when she shot him with the first arrow. I think his heart broke and that's why he lived long enough to have last words to ruin her. Hurt people hurt people. He seemed in a pretty psychologically unstable state when he was saying his last words. He didn't want anyone else to have her if he couldn't (classic yandere). I think he was also reflecting on himself and how foolish he (or anyone) was to think they could compete with Wang Yu in her heart.

I like when she tells him that he killed her mother I like the part where she gives him the clothes becaise he keeps being a pest I like the part where she cuts his eye out I like the part where he eats in fronr of her and gives her the options I like the part where they were at the tent I like the part where she was smirking at Tangqishi sitting next to Lady Pak I like when he tries to kiss her but gets REJECTED I like the part where she is chosen to be concubine of the Emperor and she has dirt on him

XD Somehow, I pity him. T.T He made the drama interesting too♡ but he gotta pay for what he has done. I know he ordered to put that powder Lilac Daphne to save Yang, too. He just don't like her, must love her at the end.
