We did film at Pattycake Studios (which Layne co-owns) so we had the advantage of great space to work. I can’t wait to see what they do this year too!!!
I really enjoy your a capella reactions! VP is the absolute best with Halloween!!! Not many a capella groups can slam dunk a song that has no lyrics!! (Ptx does it with their Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies & won a Grammy for it, but these 2 groups + Home Free are the only ones I think could pull it off. VP deserve lots of Grammy's for their amazing work. We all need to write letters to somebody to get VP the recognition they deserve!!!
Layne really came into his own in this. :) Hilarious. And who knew you could do an orchestal piece a capella. These guys can do anything. One behind the scanes note: Cesar's ears were so heavy they kept slipping down so they had to keep being re-attached between takes. :)

Ding Dong was with Lauren Paley, who was one of the people to make that song famous on TikTok by singing it in a stairwell at her apartment complex. She has sung quite a few songs in that stairwell, earning her the nickname "The Stairwell Siren." That year, she also sang Ding Dong with The Bass Gang.
Elizabeth Zharoff aka Charismatic Voice, who was the ghosts in Hide and Seek, dubbed what Layne did here 'burp-boxing'. She has actually taken lessons in beatboxing from Layn Using it to very good effect in her rendition as Ursula in Poor Unfortunate Souls. That's a video I recommend for reaction by a music lover.
This is my favorite Halloween theme video. Everything is so much fun to watch. Music from 1875 Edvard Grieg and what the did with it. I grin all the way through it. I will watch on my own but with you as a reactor so much was added. Rick Underwood usually does high level makeup and in this case - prosthetics. Elizabeth had her own makeup artist/prosthetics. I wish that VoicePlay would have gotten an award for the creativity in this.
This one was such a hoot. But you have to be willing to view it with the same artistic brand of silly (or dumb, as Geoff says) with which Voiceplay created it. Elizabeth Garozzo has done two others with Voiceplay off camera and was in the Just Sing fund raising video they shot at the beginning of the pandemic. Yes, this was shot at the PattyCake Productions studio. You may have seen that dark forest backdrop in their Villains' Lair videos, and you'll see it again (along with the boulders from PCP's Fish Out of Water and Part of Your World medley videos) when Geoff releases his latest cover. Rick Underwood (Layne and Eli) and Renette Feren (Geoff, Cesar, and Elizabeth) again handled the makeup. The costumes came from PCP (Tony Wakim) and Penguin Point Productions, Fun touch: You'll notice the masks from Kidnap the Sandy Claws in the branches of the trees in the background. The one with the Barrel mask is the largest tree (they're all actually branches cut from various trees around the Oviedo Mall

@@Starrynightdiner if he was 'paid' for her collaboration, it may have caused a 'conflict of interests' with TH-cam? i understand she has other factors as well. We know how much she loves them.

Notice that every time somebody adds something to the pot then takes a sip their voice changes. Cesar and Geoff are the only ones who don’t partake. Their voices never change through the whole thing. Go back and listen to the outro. The voices in the sales pitch for the shirt are all done by Layne! This was done in one of the rooms at Pattycake and Rick and Renette, who work with PattyCake Productions, did the amazing makeup. And congrats by the way for catching on so quickly that they were all color coordinated. It took me several viewings to realize that they had creepy contacts that were color coordinated with their make up. In the background trees there are masks from Nightmare before Christmas. And leave it to the Carrot Lord to try and make his friends disappear with a faulty carrot and end up poofing himself!🥕👺💥 The piece was written by Edvard Grieg to accompany a play by Ibsen. It’s been used in cartoons and advertisements but I had never heard it like until VoicePlay did this! 👹👺 I didn’t go back to check what you have done, but I know you’ve been gone for a while. This season Geoff did a version Ghost Riders in the Sky for his Halloween selection. Rick helped out again as “Beard wrangler”. And Eli helped him out with the digital backgrounds. It is really worth watching. It’s an old country standard from a long time ago. But Geoff made it creepy. 👻🐴🤠👻
And it introduced us to Daryl! We know from Way Down that three of the clones are Jeff, Jeoph, and Goff. For GRitS he needed a fourth. Daryl is in the long coat and full beard, aka Hairy Gibb.
This is one that you should listen to the very end. You missed the funniest advertisement for their merchandise, if it wasn't all eaten. If you look in the background you'll also find the masks of Lock, Shock, and Barrel from Nightmare Before Christmas.
Look up the original orchestral version, done by some national orchestras here on YT. It is no song. It is a piece written for an bunch of professional trained musicians... go. Listen. Then come back an watch/listen to VP again. Btw. WHO on earth do we write to to get them this Grammy??
