    Just makes me want my set sooner lol.
    I'm really looking forward to getting this game and of course painting all those amazing characters.

      I’ve wanted a set of MotU miniatures to paint for a long time. It’s so cool to finally have some.

    Re: the points costs not on the cards. They might be following the X-wing methodology here. In 1st edition, the points were printed. Playing clearly showed some options were overpriced (so never taken) whilst others were underpriced (often taken, or must-haves for some ships). 2nd edition X-wing removed all points costs to online only - this meant the authors could tweak points costs as the game developed or various combos appeared.
    I guess MotU learned from X-Wing and is future proofing itself here.

      Yeah, I discussed why the would have left the points off the cards in my core set review and came to that same conclusion, but they could have printed the points costs on the instruction leaflet, like they did on the back of the core rules manual. That doesn't stop them having a more updated version on the website if anything needs changing, The expansion rules don't even tell you to go to the website, and I have seen numerous people asking where the points are.

    Looks good. Beast man was the first MoTU toy i ever got. I just backed the current campaign on gamefound and can't wait to get em painted up and on the table.
    Great video

      Thanks for watching. Beast Man was one of my earliest action figures, and I do have a soft spot for that classic line-up of Beast Man, Mer-Man, Trap Jaw, Evil-Lyn, and Skeletor.

    Woot Scareglow... If memory serves, he was the very first He-Man toy I ever owned...

      This could be the only tournament game where everybody just makes teams based on their favourite childhood toys rather than sound strategies.

  • @zombiedad

    I am intrigued by scareglow. Are you going to try him in a couple of games to see how to best use him?

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh for sure. None of this stuff will just sit in the box and I will tinker with all of them, but he is my least favourite character so far, and his rules seem to be for a finesse build with a specific strategy that I’m not sure is one I would use. As a constantly evolving game, each new expansion will impact on everything too, and certain characters will become better or worse.

    I need this game in my life
    I remember getting scareglow because skeletor was sold out. When i saw the figure glow in the dark i was sold. Collected all the evil warriors and Horde figures and many of the machines.
    How cool could it be to see some of our childhood machines in the game?

      It would be interesting to see some of the battle vehicles, but I'm not sure they would work at the scale of the skirmishes in this game. I doubt there will be anything bigger than the tyrantisaurus, Battle Cat, and Panthor. I would like to see Stridor make an appearance.

    I don't even remember Scareglow.
    Then again, it has been over 35 years since I used to watch He-man.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He was a late edition to the toy line and didn’t appear in the Filmation cartoon. I was pretty much done with He-Man by the time he came out.

    Do you think the token sets will be available with each new preorder, so you would end up with plastic tokens for everything?

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I doubt it, and some characters like Mer-Man get their own unique token anyway. I know they have done health tokens, but they seem to be something that's going to be at events. I guess time will tell.

    You now have to figure out how to paint Scareglow's body with glow in the dark paint.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha. Yeah. I think I’m going to skip on that, but I do need to figure out how to do it. I’m thinking maybe Hexwraith Flame might be the answer.

    • @johnmiddleton4291
      @johnmiddleton4291 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring That might work out. I wonder if you could layer it sort of between coats of gloss varnish to get a deeper glowing look?
      I'd prob practice that on a tester mini first though.
      Looks like you have to buy pelinnor fields soon if you ever plan to. I think it still a better set than the new Osgilliath one.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@johnmiddleton4291 I saw the announcement today about the Osgiliath set and thought the same thing. It does look good, though. I don't think they should have put all the Gondor heroes sneaking around ruined terrain on their bases though. The new Gothmog miniature on the warg is fantastic. Overall though, it's not as varied or generous as Pelennor. The inclusion of so many riders, and the Fell Beast really made that box incredible value.
      As for Scareglow... I am probably going to save him for last and may well do some different test runs before I paint him. I would rather not mess up any of the MotU miniatures.

    • @johnmiddleton4291
      @johnmiddleton4291 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I agree with the ruins on the heroes. Apparently the strategic rock just wasn't strategic enough anymore.
      I can almost guarantee that the new box is not going to be as well priced as the old one either.
      You also will need loads and loads of terrain to do an Osgiliath battle. Maybe that's what GW is counting on? Lots of people would be tempted to buy more GW terrain to match their box set stuff.
      The hard part on Scareglow it the ribs and other marking that stood out on the toy when he glowed.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnmiddleton4291 They have whole strategic walls now. It's a cunning disguise. Nobody will spot all those pillars walking towards them across the battlefield. And yeah, I bet this is a much higher price point than Pelennor Fields. They will say it's because of more new sculpts and the new terrain.

      They aren’t distributing this game outside of Europe as the licence doesn’t cover that (CMoN has an MotU game in America). However a few places are supposed to have it, like Badger Games.
