  • The trees from the new Alpha Strike Box Set are a nice addition, but we can make them more functional for our games.

Came for the trees, stayed for the rambles. Definitely appreciate the quality b-tech content.
I’m really hoping that catalyst does some tree packs. I actually really like the trees for their simplicity and woods are really something that all tables should have plenty of. Perhaps a certain someone could convince Death Ray to do some mdf ones….just saying.

You could also find an old mousepad and cut out templates.

Great idea, I did the same thing for Firestorm Armada asteroid fields just using felt. The asteroids were painted lava rocks on flying peg stands so very similar to this concept. Love it!

Love this! I'll be borrowing this idea, using peel and stick vinyl tiles for my bases. Only like 2 bucks a foot!

If you want the trees to be movable and stable, I would recommend gluing them to some small round or hex shaped mdf bases

Agreed, only reason I haven't glued them in some way is I wanted to be able to put them flat into the box. In all honesty, should probably just glue them lol!

Also the free pdf has some terrain pieces that can be added to this as well

Great Idea about making templates for definetion of Forests and light/ dar green as to what Type of Forest your entering. Also, you mentioned "just moving the damned-trees-out of the way!,...Uou just need a clear boundry as where everything sits! IN/OUT!>>> Done!

Yup! I put the trees down just for a 3D representation but on the area piece they are only there as decoration, just move em when needed. :)

I have notice damage on my trees with the ends already peeling back. Any suggestions on how to seal them or protect them?

I'm unfortunately not entirely sure, you might try some PVA (white glue) on the edges. Given the type of terrain it is it's bound to fray =/

Water down some PVA glue and paint on the edges is about the best you can do.
