    If the top Latino earners in Hollywood, of which she is certainly among, would pull their resources and started a Latino studio, things would be much different. Oprah did it on her own (no network pun intended). Tyler Perry did it on his own. Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin and Doug Fairbanks Sr. did it when they founded United Artists, which was a very successful company for decades. Why can't WE do it?

      She has her own production company, most of her movies thru the last 7 years have been through her production company

      @@angeldelvalle120 Right. And how many Latinos has she cast? How many majority-Latino casts has she cast? I'm not talking about production companies. A lot of actors have those. Aside from artistic control, to an extent, these production companies. A production company is not a film studio; soundstages, filming equipment, cameras,etc. That's what United Artists was; a film studio. That's what I'm talking about.

      @AmarNathan We are talking about LATINO AMERICANS. they might not have said that but they implied it. Also you might be satisfied with a eurocentric representation but the US is more than white. So asian American including south asian american, black american, native american, hispanic american etc do deserve representation.

    I’m Peruvian, and I find this American made up word “Latinx” f**** stupid and racist. Not because we speak the same language, we are the same. Mexican are different from Argentinians or from Peruvians or from Colombians or from Spaniards... etc. Single nouns in Spanish are masculine or feminine, doesn’t have to do anything with gender tendencies. When we say amigOs, this includes EVERYONE because in plural is considered neutral. If you don’t understand the language, then don’t speak it. The patronizing oppressive imperialistic leftist saying to the minority: “How dare you don’t like the name I gave you.” - Don’t tell me how to speak my language or tell me who I am, or we’ll call you GrigX.

  • @reubenz1480
    @reubenz1480 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Drop the X in latin. It’s insulting to us the latin community. To begin with, when you use the english version, latin, includes all. You dont say Asianx or Blackx right?! Now if you use the Spanish pronouns the rule its either latino or latina. Thats the rule and it does not exclude anyone. so please Stop trying to interfere in our language and our rules. Who ever cones up with latinx it’s ignorant and disrespectful.

    The only reason j lo gets recognition is because she’s digestible, like pit bull. J lo’s career is built on a sham. She lied her way through fame, taking credit for stuff she didn’t create. I wish we had more representation. It’s saddening to see this is the only representation we get is a liar and a thief.

    If you are really interested in diversity and inclusion, How about adding an afro Latino to your interview team, or an indigenous Latino or even a Non white presenting Latino. How seriously can I take discussion about inclusion from people who can easily sidestep the issue in life and are so lacking in self awareness that they are not able to see the lack of inclusion in their own cast.

    Oh Please Latinos are represented in a big way in movies, just not in "positive roles, it's more like they're pigeonholed into villians or villainesses, or the underbelly of the lowest common denominator s such as drug lords, gang bangers, drug dealers, lowrider street hoodlums, thugs, criminals etc...strippers, hookers, and the lesser offensive docile maids or gardeners. You get the picture, represented in all the negative roles you can think of.

    • @makeupbyagoddess
      @makeupbyagoddess 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Latin people make only 3% of Hollywood, our "representation" is normally someone who's a thug/gang member, nanny/maid, or a mom struggling with a whole bunch of kids, we barely get roles and if they do it's bc they're white passing most of the time. I never seen a girl get a big role that isn't stereotypical have dark tan skin and big curly hair like me, or a girl darker except Zoe Saldana and Rosario Dawson.
