    It's not about how much you work exclusively. It's a lot about timing, connections, who you meet, capitalizing on an opportunity and maximizing it etc and success breeds more success.

    • @mildabonapart

      making the right connection or the right timing is work as well :)

      @@mildabonapart "making the right timing" huh? Not really...you dont make timing, and connections arent based on hard work...hard work can often lead to connections but it's not a necessary condition.

    • @mildabonapart
      @mildabonapart 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      amnahsince87 yes they are. The most obvious example - free internships. You not only get expirience but connections as well. And exponentionally your connection become better. About the timing - yes there is a luck factor. But you can always choose to go to specific events, thus getting a better chance to be on “right time right place”. Just do your homework and know what do you need to reach a specific goal.

    • @amnahsince87

      @@mildabonapart I think we can just agree to disagree actually. I've gotten opportunities by going to a work dinner with someone who was in a position to raise my position, yes it worked, but that's not what I consider hard work or working harder than others. There are plenty of ppl that work super hard and dont achieve insane levels of success. And successful ppl shouldn't invalidate that by acting like they "worked even harder."

    Whilst I admire her hardwork and dedication, i don’t like when these supposed ‘hardworkers’ make it seem like if you sleep, or go out for drinks or have some sort of social life, or even me time lazing on the couch, that is considered lazy and not ‘hardworking’. You don’t need to sleep 2-3 hours a day to claim that you are ‘hardworking’. I know many people who only can sleep 2-3 hours a day because they are actually working hard and trying to make a living yet they reach nothing and are still struggling and believe me they work their asses of. And i also know people who sleep 12 hours a day yet they are still successful. I love jlo but its very easy for her to say all this when she has 24/7 full time help the second she asks for it and no doubt those workers are more hardworking than she is... but we dont see that behind the scenes

      You missed the entire point of her interview. She wasn't a Nepo baby that was born with money and fame. Her mom kicked her out at 16 and she was homeless. She got herself out of that situation on her own. She had to fight tooth and nail to get the level of success. White men in Hollywood get to do and act however they want because the world allows them to. Meanwhile Jennifer had degrading questions from many many reporters over the years. It has always been a different set of standards for men than women. Her level of success was achieved because she put in the work. It wasn't handed to her. You're talking about people in different circumstances so different results.

      not to mention she literally stole songs from other artists and used ghost singers. she herself didnt sing most of her hit songs, including the very first one 'if you had my love'. she got away with it because tommy mattola had a vendetta against his ex-wife mariah carey and was pushing hard for j.lo to compete with mariah despite the fact that she cant carry a tune. that's why mariah hates her.

    • @DanielAraya5
      @DanielAraya5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @Lavender Lady it's just an old tale people like to use to hate on JLo because back then she was more influential than Mariah and so the record label would give her songs that Mariah wanted for herself, same with other artists, but truth is you won't find one lawsuit against JLo for "stealing" music because it just didn't happen. However, there were actual lawsuits in multiple occasions against Mariah for stealing songs from other writers, 100% verifiable, just type Mariah Carey lawsuit plagiarism and you'll find it... Quite ironic if you ask me since Mariah fans love to say JLo stole music yet Mariah is the one who was sued lol

  • @justyna365
    @justyna365 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    OMG you guys seriously? why do you take everything so literally. Don't you see hidden meaning?
    Saying "when everybody is sleeping I’m doing more" does not mean that she is working nights and nights when we are sleeping. Might be why not, but the real thing is that she is not missing any daily goals/tasks that have to be done, she is pushing hard like a warrior no matter what, whilst many of us doing nothing, are lazy, not present, not focused, not disciplined, not determined which = "you are sleeping".
    We can sleep 8h like her but waste another 5 during the day "sleeping" and being awake at the same time.
    Sleeping means that you are wasting time. I am sure she means that.
    People who are working hard and counting every single second would understand what she means straight away, because they know the effort and pain, so think twice before you call her liar.

Usually most people can't wait to leave work at 5, get a lunch break, or a break from work in general, but then there are those that don't care about those things - that only take the break to fuel themselves longer because they're committed and truly motivated to accomplish certain goals, who stay later than 5, etc. Sometimes the things we desire most are placed out of reach so we can become the very people it takes in order to acquire them.

She gets exactly what needs to be done accomplished, either on her own or by finding people to support her or handle pieces of it for her, and you really can't fault her for that. If she didn't have all the support of these other people that make it all come together she wouldn't be where she is, but it starts with her and is up to her to see that everything is managed she's only one person; and I do believe she is the hardest worker, more than Beyonce, Lady Gaga, or any other artists, performers, et al known for their persistence and dedication

    I really love JLo, but can she really attribute all of her success in the entertainment business to her work ethic? She's J Lo! She's super gorgeous and charismatic. These aren't traits everyone can have, no matter how hard they work and sleep they miss. Also, she has had assistants working for her for likely most of her career -- makeup team, personal assistants arranging appointments/purchases/trainers/skin specialists, etc. It's sad she didn't mention them here.

      Work smarter and harder. Honestly I have worked 70 hour weeks and it is habitual , success is based off few factors. Getting enough sleep, being on time, etc. Now I am making a small business and can honestly say it is much harder because there is no mold to fit into. Success is measured solely off how I allocate my time and that is more pressure than punching the clock, which I’m still doing as well.

Instead of celebrity parties time can be spend with family. Instead of award shows time can be invested in house and gardening works. At the end of your life there is no golden medal waiting at you. If you are happy with your own level, everything is good. If you are chasing fame, money, connections, opportunities just for the sake to impress others, that‘s not it.

      AS Seriously. She had slept w/Marc Anthony in the late 90s and P.Diddy. That would help a lot. But she wanted more and her career is a testament to that. Also, she came out at the right time: Latinos we’re gaining mobility in the 90s and their music was gaining popularity everywhere. J.Lo was the US’ response in trying to capitalize in that market with the Latinos they had in the US who were looking for representation. Most of her music early on was trying to get in that “urban” crowd. Yes, she’s worked hard to be entertaining in a lot of aspects and I’ll give her that. But J.Lo’s success is simply that. Luck, and milking a market where there wasn’t a lot of players in here in the US and vice versa. If anything she’s sort of monopolized that niche big time. Don’t ever underestimate the support your own people and other minorities give you. Being underrepresented she appealed to them a lot. The black community fetished her a lot when I was growing up to the point that it many places it became a thing/goal for many black men seeing a Latina with a black man. They became seen as better than black women and there still an echo off of that. This is an observation of her career while I was growing up. Those early years from 1997-2004 were the most productive and vital of her career. I remember seeing her EVERYWHERE and in everything. And on top of it she’s built her entire career off of appealing to the minorities and representing them. She’s always been about that whole “Jenny from the Block”. Her styles, look, everything has circled on that brand. So in short, is she worthy of admiration? Yes. She built a brand and a successful one by meeting that niche. Relentlessly. Sometimes I’ve seen her in Latino shows where even if she could barely get a word out in Spanish she would still try and promote herself. You would see her holding up on her own and trying to validate her identity and worth among them. She’s recognized and respected among Latinos for that. Basically, she had knowledge of the entertainment industry thanks to her early career and filled a huge need.
