Shit was my thought too. Should have just built a small base down there until they got some cryopods. It will be far more entertaining to see them attempt to keep them alive though. Who knows maybe one will survive.

you guys should know that you should only have 2 gachas next to eachother and another pair 12 foundations away. AND they have to be opposite genders, if you dont then they will literally become depressed, with a sad face and refusing to look at you. not just that but they will also not produce gacha crystals. there is also a menu wheel for them where you can select the resources they produce. every gacha produces different resources. also they like to eat everything BUT normal food so get a bunch of stone for them to eat to make crystals, and owl pellets to increase the chances of better loot such as guns and armor.

Apprsro, there's a trick you can do to keep the pillars from protruding through ceilings.
First, place the pillar to the higher snap point on the ceiling. It will look like the ceilings roughly in the middle of the pillar.
Next, snap a pillar below onto the first pillar, there are two snap points, you want the lower one, this will leave the second pillar level with the top of the ceiling. Then just continue the pillar column into the ground.
You can then just get rid of the first pillar and that will leave your ceiling supported with no nubs!

Big trees, big roots. Aim for the roots and you'll hit it every time. Also noticed the multiple levels on that bridge at Neebs base they left behind. Using a foundation, then ceiling tiles makes two different levels. Add a ceiling tile to the top of the foundation, and it will even out the levels.
Also, standard build for Ark has elevators, but you'll need to have a fabricator, electronics, polymers, ingots, and make the tracks, then the elevator platforms. Tek are more teleporters, so you will need two of them, a starting and an end point.
This will be buried as all the other comments are in quick, just in hopes for Commenting on Comments. Love your gaming character, Simon, and Thick44. Neebs, you're growing on me again, and I can't wait until you do another 7DaysToDie series. There is no more loss of health from dying, only temporary debuffs. Use plain bandages to heal, and pills to fill hp meter again.

He could always just go back to Ragnarok and transfer over his wyverns I believe. Unless Ark won't allow them on Extinction which I haven't heard. Personally I wish they'd bring some high level animals over to help them at the start since they aren't seemingly playing it to beat the game but more to have fun.

Pro tip: When my wife and I ran to the forest areas to get gachas, two Reapers LITERALLY FELL FROM THE SKY to kill us and all of our dinos. You guys need to send a flier to scout ahead, then sneak your gachas around to the city terminal that's nearby (i.e. the thing Thick used to make his enforcers. There's one on the ledge above the entrance to the underground forest) so you can upload them, and then download them in the city. Otherwise, I give you a 3.2% chance of surviving.

The Gacha crystals work like airdrops or loot crates. In them, you can get even up to ascendant items! There are different levels to them though, normal, green, blue and purple's the best I believe.

Yay! You built your main base where we built ours! Defenders and spiders are the only things that spawn above the waterfalls. Once in a while those leaping gators (Kapsomethingsomething) will spawn in pools but it's fairly rare and you have beaver dams in the rivers. It's a good spot.

Gacha's have feeling and you need to keep a breeding pair together or they will not produce crystals they will be sad
For more pellets, make the snow owl to do the ice thing until he/she runs out of stamina and then press the button to take a poop/throw up. Usually you need to lose stamina 2 times for he/she to poop/throw up. Put the pellets with s*it loads of stone into Gachas inventory and see the magic happen. I suggest you to put all the level ups Gacha is gaining into the grafting skill, gives you better magic that happens ;)
Never put two male/female Gachas next to each other. It makes them sad, but the male and female next to each other gives them mate boost.

I always build a base on that lip above the three waterfalls. Its super safe, and has a convenient ramp right off the side. It has a great view, and easy 'highway' access. Great place 10/10 would recommend

Appsro! My architect enthusiast friend, to avoid the tasteless “Nubs” you just need to build up from ONE stack of pillars to get the desired height, then you just need to build out from the bottom using the auto snap feature One pillar at a time, starting from main pillar to get your layout. As long as there’s One pillar under where your building you can build out, this also works if you need to build from ceiling to ground, once that last pillar is attached to ground, you can delete all the others and thus sparing you from Uggoing up your pristine smooth ceilings/floors. Happy Building! Yeeeeeah!
Some tips guys:
1) Keep the gachas in couples (1 male and 1 female), NOT 2 of the same gender close to eachothers or they will become sad, stop looking at ur chars and stop creating crystals.
2)Appsro and neebs u choose the same place i choose for my home at my day one in extinction :D, if u didnt saw it there is a VERY SAFE place just in those building behind u, at 15:50 u are in it! Around that tree there is a big circular room and bridges in all directions, u can move upside and down easily and build on both the roofs, the bridges and more!
3) REMEMBER u can transfer ur characters on other maps (like schorced earth or aberration) in ur single player mode of ark, learn the engrams u need or desire and then transfer again into Extinction, just remember to have the "download survivors" activated in ur server settings :), it costs nothing and u can upload and download urselfes in every obelisk or terminal u found in all maps.
4)U guys should do an O.S.D, orbital supply drops! In ur case u must start with a blue one that are really easy, only dilos and some stego come at u. From this drops u can find Cryopods! Usefull items that works like pokeballs for DINOS! So u can pack them up in ur inventory and move around in ur fliers, this way u will both keep safe lot of animals and move faster , skipping all the "walk walk walk" thing that make u lose time.

Appsro If you place two walls under the floor that needs a pillar then a ceiling connected to the bottom of the first wall. You can attach a pillar to this lower ceiling and it won't stick through the floor of the upper ceiling.
Also if you place your first foundation then a ceiling next to it you can place a foundation under the ceiling. Then remove the first foundation and place a ceiling everywhere you want a floor and foundations under those to get a perfectly smooth flooring. I use stone foundations with wood ceilings for a hard wood floor look. Simon will appreciate that fact.
Remember, any where you need a pillar you can use walls instead until you get to the ground then use ceilings and foundations or ceilings and pillars at the ground level.
You guys need to get a doedicurus and hit lamppost and cables and chairs you will get a lot of metal and element dust,electronics and Crystal
With pillars, a second ceiling directly over the first can be used to hide the nub (and also conceal wires (if sandwiched between). A clean look can be achieved from the outside by putting ramps or railings around the structure. (If you choose railings make sure you snap a fence foundation onto the foundation and then on the ground in front of that before putting any walls to that edge). Love the content guys, every one of you is awesome. (Even Simon) Hope that helps you guys out making the buildings you guys want to build. Keep up the good work, good luck, and happy hunting.

I’m glad you guys test things out “for science”. Reminds me of the early days of Ark. Nowadays, people look things up online so much, they know how to do things before the dlc ever hits. Thank you for the struggle that survivor games are supposed to give.

Just find a city terminal and upload the gatchas to that. Once they are uploaded to it you can go to the arena next to neebs and appsro's base and there is another terminal right there where you can take the gatchas back out. I dont know why im commenting this since you will probably get everything killed before you get out of the forest biome.
Just some tips:
- Appsro if you want to build pillars so that they don't leave a "nub", you start by placing the first part of the pillar underneath an existing ceiling and then working your way down instead of up. This way the pillar's nub won't go through the ceiling, but the ground instead when you eventually build the entire pillar. (Bit of a pain but what the heck..)
- Thick getting all those Gachas may have been a terrible mistake (if they even survive the trek back home). Gachas get depressed when they are near another gacha of the same gender. You can tell if one is depressed since they have a literal sad face. Depressed gachas will refuse to produce crystals and even refuse to eat. 2 gachas of the same gender need to be at least 12 ceiling panels away from each other for them not to be depressed.

You should be able to build all the aberration stuff on this map. Check the top right corner of the crafting screen and you should see an icon for the different maps, just click on aberration and you have wing suits climbing picks and elevators.

If you use Structures Plus you can press "G" to enable corner snapping with pillars. That will help hide those ugly wooden pillars. Also, thanks for the great episode guys. Helped my wife and I recover from a bad day in our own Ark Server.

Appsro if you don’t like the “little nubs” when building pillars and ceilings, then start from the ceiling and work your way down with the pillars. That way the “little nubs” will be In the ground and not in your house.
So glad Neebs and Apsro are finally building a 'real' base. Hope it brings more life to the Extinction series, because so far it hasnt been so great compared to Scorted and Rag. APPSRO: Place fence foundations at the exterior edges of ceilings or foundations, then the game will allow you to snap pillars to the outside of ceilings and foundations instead of the annoying center. Makes crappy boxy buildings look better too.

To not have the pillar nubs sticking through the ceilings place the pillars first, and then place the ceilings on top of the pillars. You can still build in that same spot -- just build down with the nub pillars and snap new pillars to the nub pillars once you're at the ground beneath. Then delete the nub pillars and replace them working your way up (you'll have the snap point from the other pillars you just placed). You'll have to replace the ceilings once you get to that level, but you should be able to sit the ceilings on top if the pillars. Hope this helps!

Snow pellet + stone = spiecal crystals that give pretty nice gear. Pump crafting. 1m/1f pair together, keep pairs apart about 10 foundation spaces from each (they will smile if good, kinda frown if others are too close). Of course all that is if they are not murdered on surface 😁
Commenting on comments, can you guys please do a play through of horizon zero dawn, or maybe the second one when it comes out?
Apsro, you get rid of the 'nubs' by placing your pillar so that its halfway through the platform. You then go underneath the platform and place another pillar over the sticky out one, you can pull down the green ghost of the new pillar down so only the tip touches the underside of your platform/ceiling and click to place it. You then go back up top and delete the pillar that sticks through the platform and BAM! smoooooooth platforms baby. Kisses!

Keep a male and female together and keep the pair 12 foundation lengths away from other gachas or they get depressed, you'll be able to tell by the expression on their faces when they are happy or not, owl pellets boost the crafting for a while, also they must have food in their inventory to craft. So just drop stone in front of them or place it in their inventory!

@JonnyEthco 19:15 To avoid nubs, try using Fence Supports instead of Pillars. They act like foundation (if they touch the ground), more predictably than Pillars. Once ya stack some walls on them ya can place ceilings on the walls (or use double door frames, for aesthetics). To link em up, put the second Fence Support on the previous one and tap Q until it gets the angle ya want for the next one. They can look a little janky, but if you use the S+ ones, you can make them invisible. They also make good fences, as the name suggests, as most dinos can't pass through them, but you can. If ya end up building in such a way they start hovering over the ground and stop working as foundation, add more fence supports beneath them until they touch the ground.
I look forward to you guys videos every day even if they arent coming out that day. You guys just make me laugh and this has been a very difficult year for me....you guys are beautiful people and really help people out going through difficult stuff
Appsro, if you want to hide your pillar nubs, build fencing and use the S+ wheel to change it to a half wall. Line your floor with these half walls, then plop ceilings down as your new, clean flooring.
@NeebsGaming. Helpful facts about the Gotchas.
1. The better stuff you feed the Gotchas, the better the Loot Crystals they drop.
2. Gotchas have a machanic where they don't like being around more than 1 or 2 of their same species, and won't produce as great Loot Crystals when they are unhappy. You can tell when they are unhappy because they literally will have a frown on their face, and act mopey.

just an fya when you park your gachas. set them up in mated pairs. no closer than 12 foundations length of another mated pair. they wont produce crystals if they arent happy. best way to find out if they are happy is get in their face, if they turn their head away they're upset, if they smile back at you they are happy.

Have been waiting this whole series for the gacha episode. If they don't use the terminal up there to transfer them then they will be lucky to cross the wasteland alive. Keep owl pellets in there inventory and drop a bunch of stone in front of them for maximum farming. If your lucky enough to find an element dust gacha keep it safe they are very rare.

All the guys at neebs gaming don't realise how many peoples day they make better. I look through comments and find so many people talking about how neebs and the guys got them through hard times, or help with their depression and anxiety. It's when you watch them it's like you are part of the crew. Like you're right there building, taming, fighting, and dying right beside them.
Hey neebs, when you guys were looking at the waterfalls there is a very big platform above you which is amazing place to build and there are only flyers up there which are rarely agresive. Check it out when u can, it's pretty safe for dino storage. Also since you guys are in the tech like future you might want the teleporters mod or the pick up relic so u can put basicly any Dino on your shoulder. Just to help you move your dinos around a but easier.
Ps.the awsome spyglass is a life saver if your interested, and the s+ mod could save you alot of headaches and help keep the progression and fun going. You guys are awesome and keep up the great work!
The way to get rid of the nubs from the pillars is to place down the pillars first before you place the ceilings, you just have to make sure the pillars are in the right spot
