IF you want to experience percussion tracks on RTR try some of the Enoch Light percussion recordings from ca. 1960. The tapes show up on ebay. I play them back on a Teac deck and they are high quality sounding consumer tapes at 7 1/2 IPS. I have avoided any of the Command tapes that were made at half that speed but the Command tapes are generally good RTR test tapes for those without access to some kind of self recorded music or master dubs. Lot of Command early tapes were mastered from that 35MM magnetic tape stuff so excellent fidelity if not material.
