- The Lab Band is thrilled to bring you our 14th Episode - The Police. In the 6 years between 1978 and 1983 The Police released 5 albums of Punk, Jazz and Reggae inspired Rock that garnered them 6 Grammys and sold over 75 million albums worldwide. With the energy of Stewart Copeland behind the kit, the jazz sensibilities of Andy Summers on the guitar and the incredible performer and songwriter Sting, the band crafted a legacy that has them among the greatest bands of all time and earned them a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We are very excited to welcome a brand new guest artist on these 5 songs, Jake Gammon. Jake grew up in Lexington and considers Stewart Copeland as one of his influences. In addition we brought back our good friend Jonathan McKeown to sit in on guitar. We hope you'll really enjoy our tribute to The Police! Thanks for listening - LLB

Black out the display and that intro...yeah, it's the Police. First verse, it's something else...and in an GREAT way...like a whole new song. So clean, so abrupt, so hooked.

This is simply a great song. Gets played less than many other Police songs, but it is one of the best easily. Always makes me think of the days, yrs, decades that i did my back n forth commute to corporate mostly sitting in traffic (east coast on 422-the worst!!!!!) being extremely unproductive and stressed out. Best part of that was when a song like this came on(when i was heading home of course). I am now status: WFH, but sometimes drive in for the all hands on deck stuff. It gives me a big headache and restricts my bloodflow each and every single time. Someday i will be free. Did my damn time. I love this damn song. Nice job. Why am i craving Rice Krispies??

Wow!! Each part requires high levels of musicianship. For me, music from the Police is a kind of a high bar: fast tempo, very precise, and just darn good. You all nailed it!!! Wowww!!!!

This is just amazing! I can't believe the "talent scouts" aren't jumping all over you guys. These renditions are as good, if not better, than the original production. Tell me this drummer couldn't play with anybody........

Impressive vocals, and great job from all. Fabulous! The LLB and musical guests never cease to amaze me. The musicianship is so professional at all levels of the production. It is very difficult to distinguish the cover from the original. Keep it up. I am waiting for the next cover! Bob.

Four times in a row = the number of times I just listened to this song. Haven't had the opportunity to listen to LLB for a while, so of course I will make up for that tonight. Every one of you is outstanding in this video and I gotta say that Mike is so good in this. I actually like him better than Sting. I was listening to The Who and David Bowie today. I could see you guys doing either artist. Either would be a challenge, but I can see LLB nailing either one. Oh well, wishful thinking.

The hardest rocking the Police ever did and you do it justice. Great work.
This rocks for sure, but go back and listen to "Next To You."
Yeah great 3 chord tricks to sound punk. I believe Sting called it flying the flag of convenience because of what was around them in '77. He's just singing about a girl. In Synchronicity II he's snarling about a man stuck in a dead end job with a soulless family who finally breaks free...many miles away...

Secondly, The guitars and, I believe one is your don? Are Fantastic!
Thirdly, yours and the guy's arrangement is so clean and at the same time, wild. The drummer, is just amazing, what a right foot.
As I closed my eyes, it sounded like the Police reunited and, performing live.
As I met many fellow drummers in the past, as well as guitarists and many other musicians, one once said: "When the musicians and, perform well together, The Lord, wants to hear a tune." Dale and company, I agree.
You guys and when the ladies are there, replace what all of us on TH-cam, receive a gift from above. Your band is Divine!!
