Kenny G is the greatest jazz artist of all time. He picks great songs to cover and he writes beautiful original melodies and he always experments with different sounds. That's why he is so successful. I especally love his new album Rhythum & Romance which is a Latin side to Kenny I have not seen before. He's trully an amazing performer.
@aocfreak I think you are right. I like Kenny's music I have six of his albums and he gets better as he tries to make each album sound a little different than the previous. I do not know many people except maybe Bruce Springsteen who can do that. Kenny's sound is not just jazz. Sometimes it is soul and sometimes it is Latin. He likes to break the rules and why some say he is too commerical is beyond me.
I'm glad you agree with what I said. That's why I bought G's latest album because it was something different he had never tried before. I loved the Covers but it was time for him to try something new.
@DocOfTones it is much harder to play with a good sound than in tune i believe and he is not badly out of tune. I have yet to hear a saxophone player that has great intonation
@dap1mp Well, Michael Brecker had pretty great intonation. But even guys who are sharp sometimes can sound awesome. Trane was sharp a lot of the time on soprano but he sounded badass. Kenny just doesn't.
@fruitydickhole I would not call that an awful tone. He has a bright tone which he works with pretty good and its much more of a contemporary sound not like charlie parker or cannonball adderly. I myself like a dark sound but i dont like to use it his tone is pretty bright and has some bite to it but there isnothing wrong to that. David sanborn has a rough bright sound but thats his trade mark i wouldnt call that a bad sound. people need to be open minded as far as musicianhip goes.
Kenny G is a disgrace as far as musicianship. Awful tone, shitty arrangements, sharp all the time, the louis armstrong stunt was despicable. That being said, he's is a great businessman.
I totally agree. Kenny G works harder than most musicians and because of that, he is one of the most respected in the world.

You can do anything if you have the money
just buy a Mauriat System 76 Soprano, they will play way closer to a Mark VI Soprano
