  • Everyman films, Mcgoohan's company along with David Tomblim and Terence Feely had plans for features to be filmed in 1968, but after a massive row Lew Grade withdrew the finance.
    Feely explains what happened.

Patrick McGoohan was an iconoclast and and a genius. His 'madness' was probably more a thorough and precise vision which he had for the projects. Being anti-authoritarian and highly suspicious of the suits in the business anyway, he blew a fuse. Regrettable. And understandable. RIP Patrick McGoohan.

Well great genious always brings some strange personality traits. The series is very prophetic and is TV s greatest work by my book

I was lucky to see a few shows in Americas, past my bed time around age 12. I still think of it today. People project the madness around them like everything else. The comprehension of the prison is inspirational.
A still tongue makes a happy life. Questions are a burden to others; a prison for oneself.
      So you say,
A still tongue makes a happy life. Questions are a burden to others; a prison for oneself.
Remember, a God, outside of fiction, failing to acquire everyone's acknowledgment, does not rate as deity.
Jesus Christ says think not I come with peace but sword & goes on & on about it. Jesus says marvel not I say you are gods, & if you had faith as a mustard seed you could move mountains with a word. That is the same as God helps those helping themselves. Jesus says a wicked generation seeks signs & proves a hypocrite, & joke, with a magic-trick in every chapter of his religious fiction.
Don't you think the good news of victory as in war, was Roman military victory when Jesus is nailed, & fails to bring himself off the cross? Who do you think was controlling literature, publications, temples? Jesus Christ is quoted as saying render to Caesar. Is Jesus Christ doing hate speech when he says think not I come with peace but sword, & goes on with horrific suggestions?

I miss PMG so much: the artistic genius and his idiosyncratic way of handling his career.
Thanks for sharing this. It's very, very interesting

But the action/thriller they’re talking about, wasn’t it done later and called “The Hard Way”, (1979) with PM and Lee Van Cleef? The plot sounds very similar.

If Pat had his own movie company free and clear, lots of money, he would have a free hand in producing and writing what he wanted to do. Like any profession, thems that have the most gold, win creative license. If you have to raise the money, chances are you lose control over your creativeness.

McGoohan definitely had a anger problem. Leo Mckern nearly had a nervous breakdown because of his intensity in acting 'Once Upon A Time' episode of The Prisoner. 'Hell Drivers' where McGoohan plays an absolute thug is a disturbing character also starring Stanley Baker and Sean Connery is very convincing.
But Patrick McGoohan was one of the most intelligent actors ever, and had high moral standards an example of this is no flirting with any actresses. At school his forte's were maths and boxing possibly giving him a superiority complex into thinking intimidation and intelligence could conquer everyone and any situation. My channel is based on The Prisoner as it's the Best TV series ever made. Be Seeing You..............

It's just as well that all the money was withdrawn. The Prisoner series burned Pat out and he obviously wasn't fit to do any more work at that time.

Not exactly sure when Ice Station Zebra was made, but that was released in Britain in 68 as well. Patrick starred in that, possibly the 2 projects combined to burn him out

What a wild story. I wonder if Pat was driven by a touch of madness, or if it was his way of getting out of the projects altogether...?

He was telling what was coming in 1969 with the perfection of the public security interests in all private property, the new money and was to get compliance. We are all secret agents for a birth certificate organization and the only way out is to resign and go into the high court of chancery to claim our Christian title rights the trustees control, the government who interrogates #6 in the show... We have the right to dominion over our life, liberty and property and #6 was recognized he was in fact whole or #1. The Dominion Mandate in the Bible. The bible being the Will of God or trust indenture in which the King takes an oath to uphold.
