    Great video idea Christine. I would love to be able to talk with you about career advice and why not do a mock interview.
    I'm a business student who is interested in tech & consulting. So I'm considering doing some tech studies. But my tech experience and knowledge is limited to what I could learn on the internet on the side. I think it would be a very informative experience to do a mock interview or just get a talk with someone with experience.

    Would you recommend writing notes/key points when you’re first asked to read the case text? Or would you just read it all at once to absorb the information?

    • @ChristineWong

  • @PacManPark
    @PacManPark ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I found some of your explanations to be a little confusing. For example, why wouldn't a "high turn-over rate" be something to focus on? It hits the People aspect of PPT, and wasn't it listed under key considerations? Isn't there an imbalance if you create a consolidated tech solution but there is still a high turn over rate? Furthermore, understanding why employees are quitting could help you understand the pain points of the current tech and processes.
    @17:52 Also, aren't contingencies and risks in reference to the potential solution? Not the old technology?

    • @ChristineWong
      @ChristineWong  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can, but we can’t fix the high turnover rate as technology consultants, it’s just a consideration. That’s more of the realm of a management, strategy, or HR consultant. In terms of understanding why employees quit, that is one approach you can take it, but overall, there is a very fine line between being focused on the prompt and learning which key considerations have a bigger impact on the solution vs. focusing a little too much on one singular key consideration when the big picture needs to be considered. Everyone can technically approach the case however they want it as long as it makes logically sense and the interviewer thinks it’s a good response/flow.

    • @ChristineWong
      @ChristineWong  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most times, these cases are designed to not give you enough time to finish reading and responding to the case so you kind of have to discern what is really important and what is not as important (but still important). If the priority is on consolidation and streamlined tech because pros outweigh the cons, you can have risk mitigation for the turnover rate and the impact that has on the project.

    • @ChristineWong
      @ChristineWong  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m also not perfect either, so if you feel strongly about certain elements, make sure to stick with your guns and support it with data and evidence in your case when you interview! If everyone approached cases the same, no one would hire consultants then if we’re all the same.

    • @PacManPark
      @PacManPark ปีที่แล้ว
