My grandpa actually found a type 92 while he was in the war. He used it for a while, but when he had to get rid of it he fired it until the barrel was red hot and then wrapped it around a tree to keep the enemy from using it.
the Type 11 is my favorite Japanese machine gun because it was they only hopper-action machine gun still being used long after the design was outdated - i know was flawed but still find it to be the most interesting
+jmantime Prior to ww2 the Russians made a DP28 with a T11 hopper magazine. It was rejected after the first prototype because it just wasn't seen as an improvement.
Can you do a video on WW2 era Japanese rocket weapons/ systems? I did a little research and amazed on the amount the Japanese thought about, from Japanese "Nebelwerfer", AA rocket barrage systems, Mortar launched rockets, truck mounted rocket barrage array systems and even tank mounted mine-sweeping rocket arrays.
FG-42 is my least reliable favorite machine gun along B.A.R and 7.7 mm Type 89 and Type 92"copies lewis gun". Japanese Military and Imperial Manchukuo Force also use Madsen and ZB vz. 26.
+Mister Bone there are 3 different models and manufactures of the type 99 - the first version was 700 RPM but later version were increased to 900 RPM similar to the Type 100 smg was increased from 450 to 800 RPM
how come ? the training gun will not be efficiently if used in fielded look at them + why didnt you add the new lmg jmantime sumimoto lmg it not 100% domestic but still have few improvedment
inoue jerry I'm not sure who your comment is directed to. I'm assuming me. I'll respond out of courtesy. I do not understand your first question, thus I cannot answer it. The type 99 is basically a modernized version of the type 96. They weren't necessarily bad guns. In fact, they were, in my opinion, the most reliable and modernized firearms fielded by the Japanese military at that time. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_99_light_machine_gun

mine is the type 100!

Ellis Young i read about that , it was rejected because the hopper could break a mans finger by accident
jmantime If there were more of them made, I'd still love to own one.
Ellis Young me too :)
Ok, i'm trying to finish a giant video on Japanese infantry weapons from 1880 to present , this is is only one part of it

I thought the Type 99 had a rate of fire of 900 rpm?

jmantime Ah, okay. Thanks a lot! =]
It's ironic how their training MGs appear to be a lot more efficiently designed than their fielded ones, lol.
i said the same thing :)
