    Imagine the Beatles coming up with all these great songs like this when they were just teens and early twenties and all the craziness going on ... so amazing. There is nothing obvious in this chord structure .. they never stop fascinating me.

      When I try to sing like Lennon I do what I do when I try to play like him.
      Clunky.
      So all in the nose. VEry growly. Don't open yer mouth too much, don't try to sing any kind of range. Maybe chew some gum. Let someone else do the entertaining cos I've got girls to chase.

    hey george. really terrific video lesson. love your riffs, and your singing is enjoyable. dont knock it. hey just wanted your opinion. on an old live beatles utube video of she loves ypu, remastered, i see john playing a full blown d chord complete with f# on the 4 th string and the 6th string. i think it actually sounds ok . what do you think.

    When you play an open C chord, are you playing a G bass note, 6th string 3rd fret? Usually notated C/G. Thanks, great video.

    Love that people are still interested in the Beatles songs, and it's great people are sharing their knowledge.
    While I get this is for beginners and aims to provide the basic chords, a significant part of the "magic" of the Beatles is in the TIMING. Especially the strum patterns, emphasis, and subtleties are soooooo important.
    Sorry, I'm a purist when it comes to truly capturing the actual rhythm guitar and lead guitar parts correctly. This "lesson" unfortunately misses the mark totally in terms of the timing, feel, strum patterns, lead guitar notes shown - these are just wrong.
    My main concern is this fails to impart the correct information how to play the actual parts, and I hope this does not set budding players back. I suppose people with actual talent will probably develop to the point they can go to the original music and work it out note for note for themselves and recognize the intricacies.
    My suggestion to the "teacher" would be to go back to the source, trim the sounds (remix?), and isolate the individual pieces (which is easy to do with the early two channel "proto" stereo of the time where many of the instruments are panned to one side and vocals on the other), and then master the exact parts as closely as possible, note for note, chord for chord, and get the fingering and positioning right. The key is to get the syncopated strum patterns right too, and capture the "feel" of the music. That is what I wanted to see when I first started to play seriously many years ago.
    (Maybe I could get around to making one of these "how to" videos matching the best isolated focus on each instrument from the original sound and showing my best interpretation of what they were doing playing along with each individual part. Time to dust off the electric guitar in our new house :))

    • @clinnyboy
      @clinnyboy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You said it yourself that this is likely aimed at" beginners" to intermediate players and then you go on to rip the lesson to shreds. Come on man we don't all want to be perfectionists. These are great lessons enjoyed by players of all levels. Your 5th paragraph above about remixing and isolating blah. blah, blah. You think guys want to do all that work and post a video for free? If I don't like a lesson I can always search you tube for another. BUT I always enjoy and profit from these vids posted here.
