That is indeed the legendary Boogaloo Sam dancing, but this was not "Team of Boogaloo Sam". The group was called STREETSCAPE, a pioneering Canadian group instrumental in introducing Popping, Boogaloo and Funk styles to Canada between 1981-1985. Boogaloo Sam came up and joined us for a number of performances in 1984 when this was taped after a recommendation from his brother, dance legend Popin Pete, and friend Roderick Calhoun. Thanks for the post. It was an honor to learn and perform with him - Bradley "Shooz" Rapier (founder of The Groovaloos / original member of StreetScape:)
@@StreetfighterTips Thanks Jeff! If you would like to catch more Streetscape videos, you can see them on my youtube channel: th-cam.com/users/BradleyRapier
This was STREETSCAPE - a pioneering Canadian street dance group,1982-'85. Formed in Calgary, Alberta by Colin "Steamboat" Bloudoff (the white guy:) Founding members were: Colin, Wayne "The Saint" Headley, Bradley "Breakin' Brad" Rapier, and Paul "Ripple" Lewis. Boogaloo Sam danced with them in 1984. This taping was on The Don Harron Show, a national talk show, November 21st, '84.
Awesome !.Love it ! ❤️🔥 True Old School.pioneers . Originators. .Much , much respect . 💯 I'm almost 56 . Been a huge fan of popping / electric Boogaloo and music my entire life. I remember when the robot came out in the 70s okay.
This is Canada's first street dance group STREET SCAPE. Boogaloo Sam came in as a guest. He was there their mentor. This is from the early 80s. The members of Street Scape are Bradley Rapier (founder of the Groovaloos), Wayne Headley, Colin Bloudoff (white guy), and Paul Lewis.
white guy is Colin "Steamboat" Bloudoff. He's from Canada and was one of the founding members of the group Streetscape. Boogaloo Sam danced with the group in Canada for about 4 months. The other popper was Wayne "The Saint" Headley, the other founding member. The other two street dancers, also members of Streetscape, are Paul "The Ripple" Lewis, and Bradley "Shooz" Rapier (now the founder of The Groovaloos).
Much respect to Boogaloo Sam and his crew! True pioneers of the art of locking, pop'n and Boogaloo'n. Im an OG B-Boy myself and can still get off 😎 ✌To Dion,Bobby B, Taron,Bobbles,Clarky, tru p-town poppers. and Troy Hollis for taking me to a contest 1980
By today's standards this all seems slow and basic (though it still entertaine me to no end). But, back in the day, this was off the hook. I'd love to see some kids take us 20 years into the future by jumping from today's styles into hyper dance. Any links for that?
Where, I can't see any? There might not be any actual Charleston, but they are doing some toprock, which has some Charleston inspired moves such as the Charley-Rock.
