    Still sittin the fence (after 40 years) about fishin in cemeteries! Got a church permission in the 90's. Found a casket handle. Still gives me the creeps!

      That is creepy. It was Halloween and we thought it would make a cool video , but really we wanted to just get video of the place and kind of document it. We didn't even dig one hole and left after 30 min.

      cache mole in my area there are old cemetery sites all over. They were family cemeteries maybe next to where a farm house once was. Finding them doesn't mean there was a town nearby.

    • @cachemole
      @cachemole  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      EJ Taylor Yeah very true. There is another one close by that is a family plot also in the forest. This particular spot did have a town nearby that has become pretty much a ghost town now...

    I have a permission on a farm and they also have a Cemetery on their property. The graves are from the 1800's.

    • @cachemole
      @cachemole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool! We didn't detect in the cemetery. It was mostly a day of hiking, discovery and taking video. You are lucky to get that permission, I think you are ok to detect around the cemetery but not inside it. The farmhouse should be a great spot for some goodies...what detector are you using?

    • @ChrisMcEvoy
      @ChrisMcEvoy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cachemole Yea I wouldn't detect near the graves. I have a Outbound metal detector, it is the exact same as a Bounty Hunter discovery 1100. I haven't found any old coins yet but I have found a token from 2007 and a 1960s token. I am hoping to get out and do a bit more metal detecting before the snow here comes.

      Like Sebastian said to me...it was very peaceful in there. The sun was shining through and the leaves looked so nice and were blowing around. There was a river down an embankment behind it...might go back and snoop around for bottles or any relics. I enjoyed hunting for bottles with Sebastian although we didn't find any complete ones. Really cool to stumble upon a shard of glass and see some ash and then dig and find a whole pit buried below....really neat. Sebastian found a dump and got some nice old milk bottles on a prior hunt of ours...

    • @lindanwfirefighter4973
      @lindanwfirefighter4973 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can tell Old British military roads that are long abandoned because it was built 33 feet each side. At the time many roads were just a single cart path wide, except the military roads. Eventually it became the standard for all road allowances.

    • @lindanwfirefighter4973
      @lindanwfirefighter4973 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeremy Bowers all dirt roads if that is what you mean. Many people follow hydro trucks as they cut trees down to keep the right of way clear. Anyone is allowed the trees they cut down so long as it is in the 33 feet from center of the road out. Anything past the 33 feet would be someone’s property.

    Shame about the grave yard being forgotten. Not much respect for those pioneers. I noticed that the f2 had a double d coil. I have an f2 and love it. Often thought about upgrading the coil but I'd like to hear from someone who has. Pros and cons etc and if they noticed an improvement. Hope you can help. Thanks for sharing.

    • @cachemole
      @cachemole  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. The F2 isn't mine so I cant say for sure but we have compared tones on deep coins and some signals the Safari can hear the F2 can't. The coil is only 8" wide I believe and the Safari is 11" wide. I'm sure Sebastian would hit deeper coins with a big coil. He does get some deep ones with the 8" coil but with a big coil that machine would be really good....he finds a lot of good things. His TH-cam name is 925inder if you haven't seen his channel yet.

      Fouilleuse Acadienne Hi Darlene. Thanks for subscribing and commenting. My friend found an 1830's shilling on the grass in front of a pioneer cemetery...you never know what you can find. Also when your out in the forest look around for glass shards because you may come across an old dump with vintage bottles in it. If you see ashes you should dig. The bottles can be worth more than coins and are nice to look at. Detecting and bottle hunting go hand in hand. I have some bottle hunting videos coming up within a month so you can see me doing that. Also look in my comments for 925inder. He's my main hunting partner and he has a recent bottle dig video just up. What detector do you use?

    • @fouilleuseacadienne-darlen1553
      @fouilleuseacadienne-darlen1553 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for the reply :-) I have a Bounty Hunter from Canadian Tire... it's not the best detector but it works for now anyway. I also have the Garrett pinpointer since all the other ones are not that great. I just subscribed to 925inder too! I was opening up my channel to upload something and both of you were on my 'recommended for you' and 'new' suggestions on the side of the page. I enjoy your digs and I am a little envious of the seeded coin! a REAL beauty and I'm so happy you found it! If you want to see old house interiors with most of the stuff still in it, check out my channel. I have a few digs on there too, but nothing amazing and I've yet to find a ring... or any jewelry for that matter. haha Oh well! I'm going to keep on keeping on cause it's fun and it gets me outside. Chatting with other TH-camrs is just the icing on the cake. Thanks again and I hope you find more amazing treasures! - D

    I was metal detecting in and around a cemetery just like that one around here it was getting late and for a moment I thought I seen something out of the corner of my eye so I spun around came face to face with a flock of pissed off Turkeys. I don't know who spooked who first but they sure as hell were mad two of the fat ones probably too heavy to fly took big loud hissing swipes at me as they ran past me the others flew some distance away. Relax Dude...lol. We spent all of 30 minutes there. No signals at all and we didnt even dig a single hole. We stayed away from the graves when swinging the coils. It was mostly just a visit to look around the place. So you can relax yourself. You can see we didnt have a single find from the cemetery.
