    Nice scenery, polite talking. Like how you guide her through. But for lord's sake tell her to HOLD HER WRISTS STRAIGHT! She might hurt herself real bad holding handle bar like that.

    Great video. One of those fun hazard rides if you go too fast you can get into trouble.
    cruise was in control. Thuong is a real trooper. good job.check your bikes over after
    that one. the camera must be on fast shutter speed and anti shake,clear video even
    over the bumps. exhilarating good ride. LETS GOOOO.

    I am very proud of her. My wife wouldn’t had done any of it. I was watching her posture on the bike and she was doing a great job. Yes, standing would had helped as well. Her hands hurt because she was gripping too hard but expected for her first time. You are teaching her well. 👍🏻

  • @altern8tive

    The length of descent made the almost non-stop climb up more impressive. Personally if I had to stop on a steep section like 6:08 I would lock the fork to stop it diving and throwing the weight shift forwards. Awesome job 👍🏻

    Great site! Pleasure to watch, what is counterintuitive is that you acturally ride it safer with bigger momentum. But as Cruise said, you need experience to do that correctly and of course - remember the path. Great video, though!

  • @PL-fh8cz
    @PL-fh8cz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    A couple of simple beginner MTB tips on the descent; 1) yes, lower the tire pressure a little but not too much, 2) stand on the pedals especially on the more technical sections, 3) keep the pedals at 9 & 3 for better balance, and 4) lower the saddle height a little because it makes it easier to move around on the bike for balance and traction.
    Thuong did great because there aren't too many woman who would take on this challenge.

    Thuong did absolutely great for the first time. I give her a 8/10...😀👍👌👊. The downhill descent made me nervous once you got on the payment. Lots of concentration needed riding down that mountain track. Many big nasty rocks waiting for you to skid on gravel and sand and come off on one. Enjoyed the trip home.
    That's a pet peeve about Japan. Drivers not stopping at pedestrian crossings and vehicles stopping anywhere just cause they have hazard lights going.

  • @jazzechos1372
    @jazzechos1372 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice ride thanks for bringing us along. Riding blind is always a lot of fun. I think Thuong would blow through most of that trail if she had an inexpensive dropper but that could also be a bad thing. :)

  • @ma61
    @ma61 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    my wife and I were saying the same thing about going down random roads and trails only to find it goes nowhere. we have designated those days as adventure days so the point is to go down a new path just to see where it goes if anywhere. We have been able to link some very fun and very hidden trails together to make a fun ride away from cars and people for the most part.

    My brakes are burning! Good call man better safe than sorry with downhills. Unlike the road where its mostly flat, trails have rocks and steep drop-offs that can really hurt you and with the current state of the medical care environment, its best to play it safe.

    Thinking about buying a carbon hardtail. How's your bike holding up? Have you ever crashed on it or are you ever worried that it might just up and break on you? I've never owned a carbon bike before but I've heard some stories about them. Not sure what to think.

    Around my home town here in The Netherlands there are a few MTB trails that I know about. My son (11) has a MTB. I have a Dutch upright bike with a 7-speed internal gear hub. Together we ride these trails. She seems very used to riding her MTB. I've seen your video where you gave her that bike.
    On TH-cam there are videos about angry American people in traffic. Search for "Road rage America".
    On TH-cam there is also a nice video about a monorail switch in Japan. th-cam.com/video/70SOmeF3K9U/w-d-xo.html

    You guys do not wear the proper gear to go down the mountain. No knees protectors, no elbows, not even gloves... I know you are going very slow, but, that's not wise. You fall all the time on the mountains.
