    Unbelievable how much this video has opened up my eyes. I notice lots of automotive TH-cam channels buying/leasing exotic cars as part of their content for TH-cam and I always thought to myself, how the hell can they afford it. This right here sheds just enough light to make all the pieces come together. Thanks for the for the video!

      Well, don't :P There's nothing saying you WILL make money buying a car. You "could" make money with some luck under the right circumstances. You could ofc take the gamble and go for it but there's probably way better gambles you can take :P
      I'd actually be interested to see how many people try this and fail. Screwing their whole life up.

    Why not do a survey and ask us subs if we came for the car? I did not click because of the car. Plus I don’t keep watching for the car. I’m here for you. You provide value, info, you’re relatable, you help other people, you explain things well, I’m learning a lot, I watch everything you put up. Good job keep going. Believe in yourself. It ain’t the car

    Tanner you’ve inspired me to start my own FBA business which should be launching within the next two months. I’d really like to see a video on how you keep track of money with excel spreadsheets for tax purposes. This is the part I’m most unfamiliar with and what I consider to be the “scariest” part of starting my own business.

    If you don't plan to keep the car for more than 2 years, leasing is your best bet for sure. But if you plan to keep the car for more than 5 years, it's probably smarter just to pay cash. I had an opportunity to pick up a new 2017 this month and jumped on it. Only because the dealer offered me a price i could not refuse, which was close to a 27.5% discount off sticker. A new car depreciates in value by ~19% once you drive it off the lot. I could trade it in and break even right now, that's how good of a price i got. I plan to keep this car for more than 5 years, which saves me money over 2-3 lease purchases in a 5 year period. Leasing or renting is probably a smarter choice for the wealthy as they like to make their money work for them, rather than having a liability on their hands. Owning something is usually considered a liability, unless your ownership of a car or house makes you money. -- In regards to tax write-offs, you have to prove that the car is a business expense. I don't know how you'll do that when you work online.

    Tanner, save yourself the tax on the next car by either leasing it or buying/registering it in Montana. Or, figure out a way to buy it here in Oregon...no sales tax and two year licensing is (I believe) $88. Lots of options for buying cars without being raped in California.

    • @TannerJFoxOfficial

      thepro08 he has courses on selling on amazon and other stuff he promotes so you take all of that profit and divide by how many subscribers/emails you have and that gives you your customer acquisition cost. He’s not bs-ing dude just educate yourself on this stuff before you throw hate someone’s way. It’s only jealousy why you would hate come on now.

    You leased the car. But you can only lease new cars. Wouldn't you have gotten more of a savings had you bought a used model? You would also avoid the initial depreciation hit.

    • @TannerJFoxOfficial
      @TannerJFoxOfficial  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can lease used cars idk what youre talking about. I did buy used

    • @elliottmiller3282
      @elliottmiller3282 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a good point ty for the correction.
      I tend to associate leases with used cars, but you are correct as car dealerships do sell used and certified models with leases.
      Ok one more thing I noticed. You put in the interest payments you made, but not the principle payments. Shouldn't those also factor into the depreciation? You paid 19782 on this car in payments, but, since the car went down in value, you lost both the payments AND the decrease in value.
      The subscriber thing is interesting. I think a better way of putting would be that your car converted monetary capital to social capital and you montetized that social capital. IF I bought a flashy car and it improved my own social capital, than yeah that could be a benefit but it might be hard to measure in dollar values alone.

    Passive income stream will pay for a car. Ppl don’t think/realize that. I remember “R.Kyosaki’s” wife owning a Mercedes paid for by her real estate business stated in his book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.”

  • @727skydivers
    @727skydivers 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I was younger I tried to convince myself that owning and driving a V10 supercar would cost me 0 USD for maintenance/repairs/tires. In reality not so much. You could have a string of (a couple of) lucky months with zero costs but in real life the cost of owning and driving a supercar is more or less like the sincere and adult advice from Ed Bolian/VINwiki; cost is about 1% of the car's price per month. That is; 100 months of ownership will most likely cost you about as much as you paid for the car. You could hope for appreciation, but that is just speculation. Most likely it will fail. Now just buy your dream supercar and drive it like you stole it, but do not convince yourself that it will be a free ride!

    @austinlarsh6028 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the flaw in your logic is now that you have these subscribers and sold the car, they might not have an interest in watching your videos or clicking ad revenue generating links. As you said, you need to keep those people interested for the next year generating ad revenue but you don’t have the car anymore so what you are talking about is hypothetical and might not generate that income for you. The way to properly do this is to track your ad revenue by video and determine how much revenue was generated for the lambo related videos from purchase to the date you sold. That way you can actually determine if you made money.
    You have some creative logic, I’ll give ya that.
