  • Welcome to a product review video for these custom made hydraulic jack ramps, rated at 2 tons (per ramp).
    I had received a few questions on my How-To guide videos (please have a watch of them) about these ramps, so hopefully this will satisfy those questions.
    Anything else, get in touch. Cheers.

    This is the best idea I have seen so far on the TH-cam jack ramps.

    love this design. now i want to build a set for myself. schematics would be great. thanks. also, great idea to have the slots for bars incase anything fails. last thing you need is a bolt to break an the whole cake crumbles while you are under the vehicle. maybe im paranoid so i probably would still use jack stands as a safety precaution.

    I bought one ,2 ramps , with double hydraulic footpump,second hand 180€ .seems only Chinese make them, so I need to adjust the construction, the stop at the end I have to make it removable, so I can put it in the middle of the car. thought of making it like you did, but then this came along. ciao

    4:26 locking mechanism doesn't look very safe, it will probably work, but i have weird feeling in my gut that it can slip and come flying out or something... Maybe add some features which will positively lock these spacers in place? Otherwise very cool build!

    Paul, a question. When viewed from the side, the rear vertical arms (closer to bottle jack) appear to be longer than the front vertical arms (by the loading ramp). Is this an optical illusion? No worries on creating public plans, I'm starting construction, with a few modifications, in February.

    would like to build a similar one but use a 12 volt hydraulic pump from my rv. would you have plans with dimensions you might be willing to share. would greatly appreciate any help you could offer as i am a novice but would love to build this for my 82 year old stepfather who used to be popeye in his younger years but struggle these days but refuses to quit. again ty for the great video. i hope to see more subscribing now.

    All the jacks I have used in the past lift vertically. With the wheels already chocked, regular jacks lift the vehicle straight up, with this design, the vehicle actually moves backwards as it lifts. I don't know by how far because I don't know its measurements but I see that as a safety issue. I'm not a mechanic but like working on my cars. Care to comment?

    • @WestinghouseProductions
      @WestinghouseProductions  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark.
      That was also a concern of mine when I initially started using the jacks. When raising, the car does indeed move back, by approximately 6". To prevent any issues with the car potentially rolling off the jack, the front wheels sit in a dip and prevent this from happening. I also place a chock under each rear wheel and move them back slightly when raising the car. So far, this has proved to be a safe method of lifting and using them.
      As with all jacks and lifting systems, no matter what you use at home, there will always be a risk - Even with professional 2 / 4 post lifts there is always a risk.

    • @mariopsaila825
      @mariopsaila825 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WestinghouseProductions With the car being raised it is not such a big issue as long as you move the rear chocks 2 inches at a time. Of more concern is when lowering the car as it moves forward and would want to jump over the restrainer at the top of the ramp. The only solution that I found was to move the car backwards on the top panel of the ramp a few inches at a time - but open to any ideas!
