Music: "Christmas Eve in Washington" by Maura Sullivan I recently got the Canon HV30 and made this video testing it out! I have to say I am very pleased with the outcome.
As someone who has grown up near Washington D.C. this has become one of my favorite songs and the video went very well with it, nice job fliming it and showing the various parts of the city including the infamous metro system! thanks so much and God bless!
I've loved this song since the first time I heard it. About two years ago I was sitting down with my daughter at the closing on the first house in her name. While waiting for the papers to finish, the realtor mentioned she had done some recordings. I was fascinated, being a writer and musician myself, so I asked if I might have heard anything she'd done. You guessed it, Maura Sullivan was the realtor. Awesome lady and extremely great realtor.
Worked with Mara for many years she's a wonderful person and so talented It's a shame she never made any money from this song. It's beautiful Love to Mara
When the snow starts to fall and you go out into the chill of the night in Washington, this song hits right at home with all the monuments and people being covered in snow flakes. Washington is just a special place in the winter. This song catches the essence of how it feels to live here.
I spent far too many years of my life trying to get out of the DC area. It's funny, I've been gone 7 years, to a small town just like I wanted. Yet Christmas rolls around, I hear this song, and just for a little while, I find myself missing Christmas in the city.
Having grown up in DC this song brings back so many memories! It's truly magical during the Christmas season in Washington. So many memories of walking to MCI center to watch the Caps play! I cried when I heard we got the winter classic last year!
Some of us who are a little older can remember Garfinkel's and Woodies windows downtown on F Street. Really big beautiful displays. There was a pianist playing in the lobby of Garfinkel's during Christmas Season, anyone else remember that?
I was back in DC last CHristmas (2009) for the first time in 25 yrs. I miss it too. Living in MI during CHristmas just isn't the same either. I Love my wife and family but I miss "America's Hometown/ My Hometown"
Do you that Maureen Sullivan had lived in the Philippines when she was young at the Poro Point in Zambales, her father was in the U S Navy ..Naty Funelas
Very nice, but hard to listen to. I lived in the Washington area for 20 years, until just 3 years ago. I still miss the city sometimes, especially at Christmas. This is, in fact, the first time I listened to this song since I left.
This song is one of the few Christmas songs I turn off when I hear it on the radio....the vocals are awful and the lyrics are unimaginative....so you can name off locations and landmarks in DC/MD/VA--big whoop...just a way to try and sell records in the area....ugh.

Why could she not reap her beautiful work?
The song was released to raise money for Children’s Hospital and the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Fund.

Thanks for adding the video to go with the BEST Christmas Eve music!!!
I love this song and I'm not a Christmas person. When deployed on Christmas, this song always brought a tear to my eye.
"Mr Jefferson's standing the Mid-Watch"... Thank God!
We use to live near DC and this was my late wife's Christmas song when I hear it she is right beside me. I miss you my Love.

I LIKE THE SONG. SUNG BY MAURREN SULLIVAN THANK YOU
I do not heard it played why is that.
Christmas Eve in Washington 2015 is the warmest ever on record - A record high of 71
Yeah, fits more like The River these days. "It don't snow here, it stays pretty green."
Wow, your brave walking around dc at night.
DC or state?
@davinp greetings to you from Sterling (Loudoun County, but did use to live in Herndon long, long ago.)
Well I grew up near DC, and we rarely if ever get a "white " Christmas. When and if we did, it was definitely front page news.
I've spent each of my 33 years in Washington. This song has ruined many of them.
Indeed. It is wretched.
@kiari43 unfortunately Washington DC metro is awfully run... Hong Kong has a great subway/metro/MTR system
@iamrepublican Out of curiosity, why do you say that?
did u stop and get a hotdog, at that hotdog stand HAHAHA
What is so special about Christmas Eve in Washington? There's usually not even any snow.
+Meade Skelton then leave
Meade Music brings back a lot of memories to wish for again
Uggggggg
Then why did you come watch?
3 people know good music when they hear it. And this ain't it.
