Pau at the end is just as cute as a button. The Warning are the best!
it's great to see them immersing in the culture, and just relaxing when they're not rocking out and kicking ass on stage...
They then had a week "immersed" with the bandmaid girls. Without "adult supervision" in the studio or out eating ramen and drinking beer or just chilling and talking. Everything we know about it from the PRS interview and the Billboard interview and clips from the maids, shows it was a truly exceptional time for all eight of them.
The maids totally control their own creativity from Kanami's first demo to the final mix and artwork, and did so for the collaboration, drawing the sisters into the process and combining their working styles.
When it came to recording kanami did the Warning on one day and bandmaid the other to keep it simple once they had sorted the music online and improved miku's lyrics face to face.
The only guy definitely involved was their long time young studio engineer. Kanami had never composed and produced other people, only Mikey chan Einziger from Incubus has ever come into the studio to play with them, but that was a far simpler process, Kanami was learning and just adding her ideas.
The plan now is for bandmaid to come to Mexico and play (and record I'm sure) a song or two written by the sisters. I expect kanami to produce again because there's a lot of trust there.
I think bandmaid are also enjoying working with "people like themselves" kind of like they themselves were 10yrs ago, but sure they're not flexing the age difference they also know that at that age you also want to be respected.
I think these collabs will prove important for all eight of them. I challenge anyone to cite a time when eight highly talented female musicians were in the studio and on stage together creating on equal terms with nobody else in the loop, if ever at all, and not just to make some kind of feminist statement either, just because things are actually different for them once they are left to their own devices.
I know bandmaid were full of love and respect for the others and visa versa. I think the live performance was a bit sketchy compared to other first live performances by either band, partly because they had limited rehearsal time playing such a complex piece and had to simplify it, but also in Dany and Saiki's case because they were just so super excited to be working together.
If you look at babymetal collabs, for instance it's a totally different thing. Babymetal for a start have a totally different metabolism based on the idol industry and collabs with well established artists I'm sure would be a totally different creation process, and it is nearly always older guys. Babymetal bring one thing to the table and the collaborators another, like main course and dessert, with Kamiband filling the gaps.
With our ladies it was totally on their joint initiatives, when they first met in the flesh Dani said "we must do a collab and miku said" totally, in Japan and Mexico (bandmaid are very popular in Mexico) what miku says goes around bandmaid, they don't need to ask anyone if it's OK, after being very patient, finally kanami sent a very basic demo inviting the Warning to feel free to pile in and miku sent her usual strong but uplifting lyrics (only the second time she's written in English and they had real trouble there because of the culture clash of what women want to say to men in their respective societies, so once they got together and worked through that I think they understood a lot about each other. Obviously miku is older and has had a lot of different real world experience as well as the culture thing. Both societies have a lot of problems with machismo. Japanese women are much safer day to day but they get a lot of low key harassment.
They promised to get bandmaid singing in Spanish.
Ale is braver about food than I was at 19 and I feel Dany's "nope" at 1:25

El Purikura me da mucha risa porque para las nuevas generaciones resulta super divertido y extraordinario verse en fotos impresas ya que hoy en día toman mil foto pero solo las ven digitalmente.
Sin embargo todavía hace 35 años cuando predominaba la fotografía impresa (Kodak) habían este tipo de máquinas de fotos instantáneas en todos lados y se nos hacía de lo mas normal (y poco interesante) tomarte fotos en ellas, se usaba más bien para fotos de emergencia por algún trabajo o escuela en que te las solicitaran.
Cómo las nuevas generaciones se extrañan con algo que a nosotros se nos hace de lo más natural así como ahora Pau adora los vinilos que antes de que ella naciera era la única forma de escuchar música.
¿Será acaso que las nuevas generaciones se están volviendo anticuadas? Es divertido pensarlo.😄😄😄😄
p.d. Recuerdo que una vez escuché a Moa Kikuchi (Babymetal) platicar que se había escapado a hacerse unas purikuras con unas amigas y para ella era una cosa increíble. Y es que tienen la misma edad que las Warning. 😄😄😄😄
