Thank you for sharing this. God bless you, too! No surprise, Elvis is such a good and decent man. He is so considerate, hear, what a great listener he is. He asks about the other person and listens what the other says. The other is not such a great listener. Elvis is such a blessed soul, kind and considerate. He was a blessed soul. Eternal love for you, Elvis.
I used to have the full recording of this conversation in the 80's. One of Elvis' band Mates was teaching music at the high school I went to in Houston. He confirmed it was Elvis.
It is fantastic to hear such a casual conversation, reminds us all that Elvis was a human. Love how he talks about the family and it is interesting how they are doing interior decorations around the time when Priscilla would have been thinking about leaving Elvis. Funny how Elvis responds to the earthquake with his gun and flashlight. Its fantastic to know how much time Elvis had for the regular person and that he would take a call and have such a relaxed conversation. You do get the impression that the cop is still a little in awe of Elvis during the call. One thing that did strike me is the fact that obviously the cop recorded the conversation and would Elvis have known he was being recorded and maybe he was always on guard to such phone conversations in case he was being recorded. Thanks for such a great find.
Thanks for watching this Steve! I appreciate it!! I wondered about the recording also but I read that phone conversations in police departments are recorded automatically but I am not sure how true that is.So it's possible that he called Elvis from the department and it was recorded and on record.I think that makes the most sense because I don't think Ron being a police officer at the time would do something like that considering it could violate a law or 2.Atlwast I would like to think so anyway.I may have to look further into it down the road as to who actually released this recording and that would probably answer alot of questions. Thanks again for watching Steve! It's much appreciated!!

I knew about this recording, like all of the private phone recordings, I don't feel good about any that have been circulating since his death. Personally, I feel all were an Invasion of his privacy, recorded for their personal gain, to eventually benefit💲💲 Anytime ELVIS was recorded without his Knowledge, it wasn't for the good. Most fans today will know, there's at least 4 recorded phone calls of ELVIS, which includes this one, that are circulating often. Like usual, like everything else, the person or persons responsible for the tapes, didn't wait long to dig them up. Your right, there's No way... ELVIS would like what's going on if he was here today or not, why would he? who would? The small-minded ppl that recorded their calls and saved them for their future gains, didn't respect ELVIS, Not a Friend to him, in any sense of the Word. ELVIS was the Best Friend they had, they could always count on ELVIS for anything and everything.
Hi Cynthia. Thanks for your comment and for watching. From what I read, depending on the state, most Police department phone calls are recorded. It is possible that Ron called Elvis from the department he worked in therefore their conversation may have been recorded automatically and not by Ron himself.Knowing the law, I doubt Ron, as a Police officer knowing the laws would intentionally call Elvis and record him. This recording must have been released from police station recordings somehow and I don't believe Ron ever wrote a book or anything with this conversation in it.So therefore it is hard to say who exactly released this conversation to the public.
I agree that's invasion of his privacy. But people only saw him as bank, to go get money. Not really a friend. So sad. Even his wife didn't love him, like she said she did. She just wanted his money. She's still trying to get his money. And she's an exxxxxx.
Cynthia, i totally agree with you, I've heard all the recorded calls too, and you're right someone at Graceland recording Elvis, private calls , disgraceful. 😠 😡

Thanks Rich. Such a good find. I’ve only heard the long Anita Wood conversation with Elvis while he was in Germany. Oh and then there is one out around early 70s. The woman talks to Elvis ask him how he is doing. She asked about all the guys. Then she even ask about Priscilla and she ends up telling him that she was getting divorced. I don’t believe I ever heard who the woman was on the other end of the phone. If you listen to a close, I don’t think Elvis even knew who he was talking to. It amazes me how people would tape conversations back in the day and hang onto them for all these years.. gosh, with my cell phone if I wanted to tape a call I don’t think I know how . 🤣 I’ll try to catch your live today

Glad you enjoyed it Dave!! I also have heard that conversation between Elvis and Anita but it wasn't pleasant and I don't think Elvis would appreciate anyone sharing that one.Just my opinion. It is good in the sense that its rare but I don't think it would be appropriate to air that because I don't think there's anything to gain by listening to 2 people fighting on the phone and I like I said I don't think Elvis would appreciate me doing that either if he were here. Thanks so much for watching Dave,,I really appreciate it!!
This is spectacular for us to hear, now, but did Elvis know he was being recorded? If not, this is kind of sad that his friend would record him unaware.
I have this from the FTD Moody Blue bootleg which came out in 94 .I wonder why this conversation was recorded? There's a short one from 1970 with Arlene Cogan.
Hi Amy! Thank you for watching!!It is possible the call might have been placed from the police department where Ron was at.If that is the case I believe all or most conversations made within the department are automatically recorded. As to who released it into the public,I am still not sure on but I have a hard time believing Ron would do that knowing it there could be consequences if he did.I am still actively looking into this because I am curious about that.
@@elvisfortherecord Hi -Yes it might have been but i'd be surprised if personal calls were allowed. If it was from his police department maybe there was more to it.Apparently Elvis was in Memphis when the call was made so i'm guess he was speaking from Gracelands it early in April 71.
It's so sad that people record their conversations with Elvis.. Definitely not true friends .This is one of the reasons Elvis didn't know who he could trust...
You're right, I did enjoy this Rich. Love to know more of the dialect before the conversation that led to Elvis being cool with having Ron record their phone call.
I was curious if there was also but who knows if there is.Ron may have placed the call from the Police department and I could be mistaken but I think calls within the department are automatically recorded. Therefore I don't believe it was Ron's intent to purposely record Elvis given that it could somehow be invasion of privacy or something similar to that.I don't believe Ron ever wrote a book either so I don't think he would be looking for financial gain of any kind.As to how this got out into the public is something that I am not really sure of.
It's been said by ppl close to ELVIS, that he guarded his personal privacy, as much as he could. It's unlikely he was aware of this or any other recordings of himself. When you listen, you can tell by his manner of dialogue that he wasn't aware of his conversation being recorded, just as he wasn't aware of Red West...recording him in 1976, 10... months before ELVIS passed away.
