I think the internet (especially youtube and instagram) can often negatively affect the way we live our lives/how we spend time. We feel content by just watching other people's vlogs and looking at them living their lives, and we don't end up doing much with our own. Recently I stopped watching videos that are meaningless to me and I'm only watching those (like your videos :)) that are informational or helpful and spending more time reading.
yes iam totally with you when i see others videos i feel like the negative energy is covering me which make me feel non_energytic for doing anything else >>>> it really ruin my life as a 16 years old girl like i say to myself that i do wanna make my life organised and healthy and my studying as well so when i see something on youtube i really get disappointed so i keep searching on youtube about everything totally all the detailed things i really dunno what to do
TH-cam and Google should be the main priority list apps as they give us knowledge but apps like WhatsApp Instagram and Facebook give us no use in future life so hence they should be stopped or either just keep a particular time for the apps and do work stuff or things u want to work on .. if u really want to get touch with ur friends a daily one hour could be used for WhatsApp rather simple still we don't do such stuff
So timely (ha). I struggle with the phone thing so much, as most of us do. Life is pretty hectic at the moment, so I need to take regular chill breaks, but they devolve into watching short yt clips that end up turning into an hour, or some mindless website where I gain nothing.
Dude you don't have to! Having a phone that is basically ancient that can't do anything other than make calls or send messages is really liberating. I used one for a couple of months last year and it was so good for me and I think I'm gonna do that again! And those phones are super cheap too I urge you to try it!
Loved this one! For me one of the biggest steps was deleting almost all of my social media pages. I spent so much time just going through Instagram. One day I just got tired of it all and deleted my page. I still miss it sometimes, it was a huge habit of mine, but it is definitely worth it. I started being bored more often, and being bored is actually great for starting doing creative and productive things. I started coloring, reading more, hearing more to what my husband says in our conversation instead of just listening, I feel like I am actually present, stopped caring so much for not having that "beautiful life" I thought I needed to have. It is soothing for the mind for it to live a more silent life, I think :) Next step is to establish a certain time every day to go for a run, do yoga or just workout in any other way. Start building new, greater habits, and be in control of my time.
It's very strange for me, I've done a lot of simplifying my life in the last year. I've decluttered and become quite a tidy person. I'm on top of my bills, and of most emails/phone calls, and I'm way less stressed out now. But there's an emptiness there. I have more time now, but I somehow end up filling it with mindless stuff like watching hours and hours of youtube. There's things that I'd like to be doing, like writing a book, but somehow I still can't bring myself to do it. I don't know if I lack discipline/routine, or maybe I'm just scared to commit to my dream projects, because I'm scared of failing at them. But I seriously need to get over this somehow.
MichiruEll it's your why the reason why you want to write a book. Write your why down and keep looking back at it and develop some daily rituals to get you closer to writing a book. Start small you can do this just get the car moving! Maybe just write for 5 mins everyday
MichiruEll one thing that helps me when i focus is deleting the youtube app, and other social media apps on my phone! i've tried just putting my phone across the room or turning it off but it isn't enough, and i wanna listen to music and stuff. so, i delete the apps. that way, whenever i wanna stop working and go on them i'm like "crap, i have to redownload it, sign in, and all that stuff." and it discourages me until after i finish working!!
Recently, if I’m watching Netflix, or TH-cam, I just agree to do something (however small) productive inbetween each episodes or video. It definitely helps my mental health, and prevents that feeling of “oh my god how long have I been doing nothing”. It at least breaks it up, and likely when I decided to do something small, I’ll get into the grove and do it for a little longer
I really needed that advice about stopping doing things that i don't enjoy anymore. Sometimes i feel pressured to do something because i should finish it just because i started it. Or i should read that book/watch that show bc my friend wants me to. But i could actually spend time doing stuff that i like more and WOW I'M SO GLAD I WATCHED THIS VIDEO.
I actually tried listening to a podcast and I was so impressed. When listening to music I am never satisfied with the genre and when I am I get caught up in the song. Then, yt is just a void tbh. I have my house work, home work and mindful work all set out throughout three points of the day to stay on track.
Omg I LOVED your last tip. I'm so into self improvement and have been really hard on myself trying out a ton of new things. I've been trying to build so many new habits at once and beating myself up for not being successful at it. I just need to set priorities and not be so hard on myself. You can't do everything at once! ❤
Listening to podcasts while doing my makeup or even just while going for a really long walk is one my fave hobbies. I found my knowledge on current events, and even just niche topics 10x itself by listening to more educational than empty stimuli (obvs your vids are one of those educational sources ;) )
TaylorSwiftGleek fave podcasts? Oh boy, so many. 5 of my favourites are High Resolution, TED daily talks, Stuff you should know, the Vanished and, Generation Why ! Do you have any recommendations?
Kay's Closet thank you so much! nope I don't currently listen to any podcasts but I'm definitely going to start instead of listening to the same music on repeat but didn't know where to start ... thank you!😊
No problem! There are so many different podcasts out there. There is probably one there for any hobby/interest you might have. They are also a good to use if you're trying to get better an mono-tasking!
Omg I feel the same about journaling too! And even gratitude... it worked for about a year but then turned into a bit of a chore. Your last tip was so real and not something anyone else really points out :) This was a really helpful and down to earth video, I'm subbing.
I love your last bit about not being able to let things go if they don't work for you. I put so much daily pressure on myself to maintain a morning and nighttime routine; I'm successful the majority of the time, but there's some things, such as journaling, that I don't find enjoying or helpful. It's much wiser for me to spend more of this extra time on longer meditation sessions or yoga. I really needed this so thank you!
I massively decreased the amount of time I waste by removing all game apps from my phone and limiting my social media usage to my computer. I use my laptop a lot less often than my phone, so this really works for me! Something that helps me manage my time well, but may not work for everyone, is planning tasks down to the half hour. I found over the last semester of college/university that if I gave myself more than enough time to complete a task and changed tasks every 1-1.5 hours, I was able to be much more efficient and fit in larger fun activities into my schedule as well!
distractions like social media are monsters, its insane how it sucks your attention.its so important what we consume unconsciously, i think turning off your phone and stop comitting to things that you are not 100% exciting about are my fav tips of yours :) thanks for that, you are a great inspiration for my videos xx
This was just what I needed to hear. I have struggled with a lot of the things you mentioned. I absolutely love how you said not to feel like you have to do what everyone else says to do. That has really clicked with me that I have been doing that.
This was something that I needed so bad. I think that my biggest problem is my phone and idea with reminders sounds good and I will try it for sure, thanks for your work and videos, xoxo
Suggestion: Number/List the steps in the above section, and hyperlink them so that folks like me can go straight away to them for repeated viewing. Spaced repetition is a core element of learning. I find it helpful to invest time doing things that will safe time in the long run. For example more skincare so I need less time doing my make up. Or a very good haircut that realy suits my hair so I don't need to do as much styling anymore. Or laser hair removal so I don't need to shave all the time 😊
Anja K. I do find this tip amazing and i have always thought about it like once i ll be financially abundant the first thing i will do is get rid of those three major points ! Seriously shaving doing my hair plucking waxing makeup takes almost half of my day and sometimes i even end up canceling an event or an appointment when one of these three r not checked !
I like this video especially when you said "don't listen to everyone all of the time"...this is really what I need...many times I find myself having alot of tips to make my life better, but they are too much..and I am only one person who has just one life and 24 hours/day....so this really so usefull to don't listen to everyone all of the time... yes people have awesome tips and ideas which I find it really hard to ignore them...but at last everyone is different and what works for others may not works for me.. thank you..
My boyfriend walks in and said “oh no you’re watching the British lady again. That means you’re either going to clean or re arrange your life” 😂 HELL YEAH I AM
Great video! I especially found the tips for creating a time slot for housework and fixing problems that irritate you helpful. I get super distracted by housework so finding one time to do is a great idea. I also found that laundry was something I hated doing. Separating clothes, hanging them to dry, taking them down, folding, yada yada yada, was so frustrating. I tackled this problem by minimizing my wardrobe and find I spend way less time doing laundry. Thanks for the video!
I really liked your last tip. I feel like nowadays there are so many things that are recommended which will transform your life, like journaling or yoga. I feel really pressured to accomplish all of them and all at once. But it's nice to hear someone like yourself, who is being realistic with what's possible, say that you should focus on what you enjoy and what works rather than what others say you should do. Thanks for the video Muchelle! Keep em coming 😊 REPLY
Thank you so much for reminding me that everything I hear is a suggestion and not like a dead set RULE. It's so good to remember that we can't do everything and that we are ultimately our own authorities- not those we watch/read about. I am a huge fan. Thank you!! I love hearing your in-depth thoughts and such
So I was on my normal youtube binge like I've been almost this whole summer and then this video came along. After watching, I thought "wow I've wasted a lot of time". So instead of continuing watching more videos that I was mindlessly watching, I decided to finally deep clean my room like I've meant to all summer! I just wanted to say thank you for the motivation and know that I am going to try to continue this trend until I go back to University next week. Thank you so much!!
Your channel's content is just amazing! And yes, just beacuse everybody else is doing it, it doesn't mean we have to. Suggestions are awesome and can be an inspiration as long as we don't see them as an "obligation" . Keep up the amazing videos, Muchelle. :)
Aweee! The last one was amazing haha I feel the same way with journaling! I love doing it, but in specific times when I feel I need it! GREAT TIPS! Thank you, girl! Keep crushing it!✨🙌🏼
The best way I stopped procrastinating is by building this channel and helping others. Now I don't go offroad as I have responsibility over me of my audience and I would like to thank you Muchelle as channel notes really helps me building my youtube community in a right way.
I loved your last point! It resonated with me so much. I find being grateful everyday is tough only because I am grateful for the same things everyday lol. Morning pages didn't work for me either prefer writing when I am in pain.
I just LOVE your last tip! All of your tips are incredible, like always! Do you have any tips for a person who doesn't like to go to bed? Night time is my favorite moment of the day and I don't like to sleep through.
I love your videos so far, just discovered this channel a few days ago. Very useful tips for real people. A lot of productivity videos seem v unrealistic to me and you give much more manageable suggestions on improvement
Such a good video - I find that splitting my priority list into two helps, what has to be done today and what would be nice to do today - that was it breaks them down and I'm more likely to accomplish them
I think I often fall into the category of trying to do it all at once which makes me feel guilty and a bit like a failure. I must remember to not put so much pressure on myself. Great vid girl!
Thank you so much for all of these tips, they are so helpful. For social media, I've gotten rid of all my accounts and I will try to use my time to do important things and things that will help me in the future. Thank you again
How can your videos be so perfect every single time? Your advice is always so on point. I really relate to what you said about the overwhelming amount of advice. Even if those are all wonderful habits to have it's so easy to try and do everything and feel totally exhausted. I'm always reminding myself that a complete lifestyle change isn't possible overnight. And it's also so liberating to sometimes just say fuck it I'm a big girl and if I don't want to run a fucking marathon I don't have to, no need to feel guilty about it . Thank you for creating these videos. You're awesome!❤
I'm crying - this video is perfect. On point. THANK YOU! Sometimes I am so upset cause I always stay in my old habits 😩 AND IN MY COMFORT ZONE. Why am I this way... but I keep trying! Hope u too 🙏
well done I think you have mentioned most of methods to avoid wasting time, I just want to add very important thing which is procrastinating, whenever you have task just do it, and the other thing o wasting time is over thinking. stop think just make action.
I really needed this. I'm currently trying to film videos and create more artwork as well as finish coding something before school starts and there are days where I feel I just waste away the day.
I plan on creating a channel hopefully soon, but currently the channel does not exist(it won't be this account). It's going to be an art channel that I post my videos on.
Great tips. To do lists make me 10 times more productive, when I gorget to plan the likely hood is I get side tracked and don't get what needs doing done on that day!
The whole "don't listen to everything someone you look up to" touch, really hit me. I've struggled with that my whole life: from aspiring to live my older sisters life to watching naturist vegans to the point when if I don't live that life I'm failing entirely. It's very hard for me not to feel a raging compulsion to mimic ones lifestyle and entirely become that person. This comment is honestly just me recognizing that I need to work on being positively influenced by people causing me to be more mindful of certain topics instead of what I just described. Ya, sorry for the rant.
I’m finding it so hard lately to stay off my phone while studying or watching one TH-cam video on my breaks that turns into 12 TH-cam videos then I get nothing done!! 😡 this video was really helpful, I’m loving your channel
Just signed up for skill share using your discount code. Thanks! Can't wait to try it out. I easily waste time in the mornings on Facebook tagging friends in memes and watching Netflix re-runs. After a couple of hours I'm like "What am I doing with my life!?!" These are great tips!
It’s so hard for me to put my phone away, tho I know it’s everyone’s struggle nowadays. It’s the hardest thing for me. I loved your video. New subscriber over here! 🙃❤️
Thank you :) Actually I have watched lots of such kind of videos, of course I am trying to take all of these useful tips for changing my daily routine, and even from today I set my downtime screen in my phone and remove my social media apps,it gives me more chance , energy and motivation in order to achieve my goals :)
So right that you just can’t do everything 💗. I’ve locked into my three best balancers and do those daily. There isn’t enough time in the day to do everything!
Muchelleb, thanks for uploading such useful content on this youtube. We always welcome such kind of useful and worthful videos on youtube. May god bless you.
I think the internet (especially youtube and instagram) can often negatively affect the way we live our lives/how we spend time. good for you! so true, we should watch things that make us feel good about ourselves :)
yes iam totally with you when i see others videos i feel like the negative energy is covering me which make me feel non_energytic for doing anything else >>>> it really ruin my life as a 16 years old girl like i say to myself that i do wanna make my life organised and healthy and my studying as well so when i see something on youtube i really get disappointed so i keep searching on youtube about everything totally all the detailed things i really dunno what to do
Totally agree!
yep, totally agree!!

Sometimes I honestly wish I didn't have a smartphone.
sometimes technology can be so stressful!
Klein Geld same. I spend so much time on time Dx
me as well
Same. Also, social media makes me feel awful, so I'd rather avoid it.
Dude you don't have to! Having a phone that is basically ancient that can't do anything other than make calls or send messages is really liberating. I used one for a couple of months last year and it was so good for me and I think I'm gonna do that again! And those phones are super cheap too I urge you to try it!

My socks have cows on them. Better than your socks. what potcasts are you listening to?

I was looking at your comment this entire video and waiting for what the last tip would be. Worth the anticipation.
Listening to podcasts while doing my makeup or even just while going for a really long walk is one my fave hobbies. I found my knowledge on current events, and even just niche topics 10x itself by listening to more educational than empty stimuli (obvs your vids are one of those educational sources ;) )
Kay's Closet what are your favourites ? 😊

No problem! There are so many different podcasts out there. There is probably one there for any hobby/interest you might have. They are also a good to use if you're trying to get better an mono-tasking!
i am just getting into listening to podcasts! loving them so far :)
Omg I feel the same about journaling too! And even gratitude... it worked for about a year but then turned into a bit of a chore. Your last tip was so real and not something anyone else really points out :) This was a really helpful and down to earth video, I'm subbing.

You are amazing!
I find it helpful to invest time doing things that will safe time in the long run. For example more skincare so I need less time doing my make up. Or a very good haircut that realy suits my hair so I don't need to do as much styling anymore. Or laser hair removal so I don't need to shave all the time 😊
such a good tip! :)

She's Australian :)
eba styles I know 😂 I never said she wasn’t. My boyfriend is the one who said that I was just quoting what he said.
@@LucilaRodriguez oh yeah that's cool. I'm Australian and often times people confuse the accent with the the British. Anyways, have a good day!

Finally a video that's honest! A lot of the other "motivating" videos regurgitate the same stuff. Love your channel! 🙌
Your channel's content is just amazing! And yes, just beacuse everybody else is doing it, it doesn't mean we have to. Suggestions are awesome and can be an inspiration as long as we don't see them as an "obligation" . Keep up the amazing videos, Muchelle. :)
Every bit of this was so useful thank you! Now to put it in practice.
Aweee! The last one was amazing haha I feel the same way with journaling! I love doing it, but in specific times when I feel I need it! GREAT TIPS! Thank you, girl! Keep crushing it!✨🙌🏼
thanks so much💗
can you make videos about how to set goals or how to know your talent ?! i'm in a bad need for sth like that

Thank you for the tips Michelle! I think that listening to a podcast while doing chores around the house is a great way to be productive.
i have been loving minimalist podcasts recently :)

I love the idea of listening to podcasts or inspiring videos while doing makeup. Thanks for another great video!
I'm crying - this video is perfect. On point. THANK YOU!
Sometimes I am so upset cause I always stay in my old habits 😩 AND IN MY COMFORT ZONE. Why am I this way... but I keep trying! Hope u too 🙏
well done I think you have mentioned most of methods to avoid wasting time, I just want to add very important thing which is procrastinating, whenever you have task just do it, and the other thing o wasting time is over thinking. stop think just make action.
im literally wasting time while watching this

I really needed this. I'm currently trying to film videos and create more artwork as well as finish coding something before school starts and there are days where I feel I just waste away the day.
Brooklynn Wood is there any way to see your films?
I plan on creating a channel hopefully soon, but currently the channel does not exist(it won't be this account). It's going to be an art channel that I post my videos on.
Brooklynn Wood i would love it if you could let me know about it somehow
M in between I changed my mind and actually decided to make it this channel so yeah

So true 👍
you are my inspiration thank you :)
thank you so much for sharing these tips- I'm actually convinced to be productive today and motivated to achieve something :)
Ya, sorry for the rant.
thank you so much. I am definitely going to try some of these tips.
