This script is SO GOOD. The specific words she uses to tell the story reveal so much depth to her character. How she can clearly relate to the story of a trapped woman, feeling like she only lives a half-life. You don't need to know the specifics, the acting and phrasing say enough, and all laced with this love for Billy and dancing, these moments of *magic* in a very real and cynical adult world she knows well. God I love this movie.
This scene is amazing because she acts so dry and is so cynical about the whole story but you can feel her love towards Billy. I love how everybody accidentally show some love to him in the end...what a great movie!
or a prior love in her life that got away, great analysis V, one of the best scenes & films of all time ! And u got to love that subtle comedic nuance of that starter on that car !
This scene never gets old, it's so damn beautiful & dramatic ! It's only a ghost story ! Then the subtle comedic nuance of that starter on that car, what writing !

This scene is pure genius. I could watch it over and over
the way she's intro slow pace of telling the story with passion and sympathy, then wraps it up so suddenly is funny, and touching.
Swan Lake is at the top of the most extraordinery ballets in the world

Tks for sharing. Great movie!
Makes me think of Dr. Schultz telling Django about the legend of Brunhilde - which also, incidentally, has a hero named Siegfried.
Poor grandma at the end 😆

1:18 That's why I like this telling of the story of Swan Lake better than the telling of Swan Lake in 'Black Swan'.
