Wow, what a beauty. A small motorcycle shop, where I used to live, had one of these in their front window. I would stop, wish, and drool. One of my favorite Harley models.
I bought this about 47 years ago from a small Harley dealer in Seneca, Pennsylvania . The closest larger town is Oil City, PA. I live in Florida now. Thanks for commenting.
Superb machine. My Dad had a '71 1200 Night Train in white. I loved it , but the tail section was wierd. I like the traditional fender like yours. No bike had a better front fender IMO. New Harleys pale in the looks dept. Especially the Sportster S. Fast, but butt Ugly! Thanks .
That is absolutely beautiful!!! My first HD was a 1982 FXR Shovelhead. Seeing your scooter brings back fond memories. I'm Still riding but I've got a geezzer glide now.
Thank you. I don't ride this much, I just wax it. I also have a '13 Road King when I feel like riding. I am also in the geezer status because I am a geezer 71 yrs. I bought that bike new , it is all original. Me not so much!
Tom I completely understand ! I'm still all original parts but they have high mileage. I'm a 1947 model myself...lol. But my current HD is a 2011 Road Glide. I bought it new but it only has about 17K miles on it. Don't ride that much anymore... just local stuff. God Bless and remember to "keep the shiny side up"... JP
Was around 22, just back from the Nam and bought myself this bad boy. Good days....I'd lived, I rode this same bike (same color or almost mine was factory) I was young and I was free. Like I said good bike, good days.
+Randy Taylor, Hey thanks for looking. I bought this new. It has never been painted or restored. Paint is what was on it when I bought it. I have taken care of this bike for 43 years. It is just like it was when it came out of the box. Yes sir it's my baby!
Spectacular ! My friend had a 1971 FX bought used, my first H-D was a 1976 FXE bought new. I could have had a 72, but, I wanted the disc brakes. Ride it with Pride Bro.
I just added a video with it running. I have owned this bike for 44 years and never get tired of listening to it run. The mirrors on this bike only let you see two things in them, Day or Night. But I love it. When I posted this video You tube stated that the video was a little shaky and would I like them to fix it? Hell no Harley has been working on that for fifty years.
Harley's 2nd weirdest production chain guard, Kayaba front fork tubes/lower legs, DYF/DRT drum brakes. Yep, an old school Super Glide. And a nice one at that
Hey Tom, if you ever sell it can I be on your list? I almost bought a '72 in the mid '70s but didn't have quite enough cash and the seller wouldn't budge on the price, still regret not having the extra cash at the time, I've had many Harley's since then but that's the one I think about.
Nice 👍🏼! Is enclosed chain original? How about the shift , is the upside down lever give a normal comfortable shift? I remember when they were new I was 10.
Music ruined the video. Clearly NOT necessary. Nice looking bike though. But why own it if you only ride 1 time a year? That's wasted tax money & all ($s) needed to make it legal.
My grandfather bought a 1972 Harley Davidson Superglide that same blue brand new. It had the big white spring seat, and white side carriers. It also had a dealer installed fairing on it. He gave it to me in his will, but my a$$hole uncle sold it out from under me when my grandfather passed away.
Thank You, I have owned it for 47 years, but you can still catch me in the garage sitting and staring at it like I just bought it. Thanks for your comment!
@@jonnysl6560 , I really don't know who the music is buy, when I posted it to you tube it was my first time posting anything, you tube had an option to add music so I did. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I'm glad you liked the bike.
I really enjoy coming back from time to time to watch this video. I had one just like here for 10 years
The apex of Harley Davidson right here. IMHO, they have never improved past this.

I bought my first Harley-Davidson, a 1973 SuperGlide while stationed at the Little Creek Amphibious Base, Little Creek VA.
Thanks .
It’s really is one of the best HD ever made an it’s beautiful 🇦🇺🇺🇸

Original OCD owner is the only way to produce a bike this original, clean and stunning from 1972. Never seen a '72 that amazingly fresh. Wow.
Thank You for your remarks, very much appreciated.
What a beauty...!

That is one beautiful bike Tom, I'd love hear it running in another video.

yeah, I do the same with my 73, just sit and stare!
Out-fricken-standing!
Nice, keep it just like that. They are only original once!
I thought the music was great, love the lead guitar! Semperfi, Jeff

What color of blue is that
Is it secondary belt drive..??
Superb
They quit making the super glide after this beautiful machine !
Lovely looking bike - would've been nice to hear what you said if it hadn't been for tha 'music'....
Makes you realise modern Harley’s just don’t cut the mustard...
Just 1st class all the way...
Absolutely right! And thank you
is that a one year only chain guard?
Norman Buffett ,that was actually a FLH option.
for sale?
It would have been a much better video if you started it instead of the corny music.
What ! No Emmy?
ya that music is really hard to handle. wow...
Agreed. The bike looks nice, but this video sucks.
Nice Superglide, My Brother had one just like it!!!
Real nice bike. Real bad music.....let us hear the bike instead.
There is a video of it running. It's under 1972 Superglide.
No start???? Why would I give you a thumbs up?
Get rid of the chain guard cover..
Music ruined the video. Clearly NOT necessary. Nice looking bike though. But why own it if you only ride 1 time a year? That's wasted tax money & all ($s) needed to make it legal.
?
we could do without the music.
Noutious hold the phone still !
TERRIFIC

Ted cruze on the lawn WTF

Thanks Joe, I have owned it since 1972 not about to change it now.
Hey Hands , how'd you like the music?
Who did that music ????
@@jonnysl6560 , I really don't know who the music is buy, when I posted it to you tube it was my first time posting anything, you tube had an option to add music so I did. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Since you probably have two of them, I would like to make suggestion where you can put them.
