It's sad that Splinter is gone. He had become not only a father to the turtles but also to many kids in real life. The advice he gave the turtles was always wise and applied to everyone who listened to it. He had become a father figure to many kids, including me. On another note, I'm glad that Leo was the one who delivered the final blow. The final battle was perfect. Both sides were fueled by vengeance, but the teamwork of the turtles overcame Shredder's anger.
I think when Leo talks about being Shredder and Splinter being brothers he means it like a friendship thing, like they were so close they would call each other brother. But Shredder was also adopted by Splinter's father in this cannon so they grew up together so I guess Shredder would also be Splinter adopted brother aswell.
This is my favorite ep of the series and my favorite leo centric ep and i love the way the intro looks like during the final eps of s4 and love how leo became the sensei
In "Vengeance is Mine" they establish Shredder was adopted by Splinter's father after he destroyed a foot clan outpost and raised him as part of the hamato clan
The voice acting in the episode was great, but man, Seth Green and Kevin Michael Richardson freaking ate it in the booth! "You killed him! He was your brother and you killed him!"
Finally. We done made it. After all the fighting and war between the Foot clan and the Hamato clan, after all the struggles, Shredder is finally finished 😂
Best episode of this series and possible any TMNT ever. I stopped watching week to week half way thru season 4 as a kid but so glad I went back cuz this episode is peak.
Great finale, Shredder was adopted into the Hamato clan after Splinter's dad killed the leader of the Foot clan (Shredder's dad). I don't think Tiger Claw is over powered. (7:56) Tom, Tiger Claw could fight on all of them. He did escape an alien worm, fought the armies of kraang, and traveled through different dimensions to get back to Earth by himself.
This episode was like a game. What I mean. Every next fight was like a step to a final boss. Fishface and footbots were the first step, Bebop and Rocksteady with that trap room were the second one. And Tiger Claw is the third step before the boss. And unlike Fishface, Bebop and Rocksteady TC fought turtles and April and Casey alone like Shredder, which shows us how skilled he is.
Legendary finale, the best out of all season finales. Also, you could kind of consider this the true ending of the show and the next season is just a bunch of adventures. I find it hilarious that you put that one guy's comments about watching season 5 in production order (which he wrote like every episode) in the beginning. One thing I wanted to point out which I find disappointing is that the turtles most of the time in this show don't actually have something like a multilayered plan with different characters playing different roles. Something which I think the 2003 series did better where in most "missions" they actually have a big plan that they execute. Even though you are still far away from reacting to the 2003 series (if that happens and not another series wins) I am truly excited for that to happen. I would also be interested in seeing a reaction to the 90s movies (I've personally not seen them in a long long time but I plan to watch them soon enough).
This is what I consider the end of the show, it concluded the overarching plot of the story, which was Shredder versus the Ninja Turtles. The rest of the series is just multiple mini arcs that are mostly spread across multiple episodes that don’t add much depth to the show in my opinion. So him and Splinter were technically brothers although not by blood and that's what they are referring to here. Nevertheless, this definitely could have worked as a series finale. However, the next season is a nice epilogue to everything and follows different story arcs and that's all I'll say without giving things away lol. Lastly, 10:55 and 11:49 I think are a couple of moments that show that the retro mutagen is taking effect. The former is kind of obvious and the latter is a bit more subtle because shedder seems to be regaining his care and humanity after ridding himself of it in the last episode. In addition, the retro mutagen is probably what helped Leo be able to end him.
Splinters dad (in the hamato clan) killed shredders dad (in the foot clan) it’s not 100% clear why the foot clan and hamato clan had a rivalry but they did and when shredders dad died shredder was just a kid and was adopted by splinters dad and they were raised like brothers. so their not blood related.

Splinters death was so scary/sad and man they pushed so kucj for a nick show and now the end of the Shredder was so much needed....he was a monster that needed to be stopped once and for all and yeah Razar is dead, Stoxkman is cured and wow the final blow from Leo was a little more brutal in the original scene where they show the cut to his neck! S5 was fun and man the first arc is going to be good after this where the Turtles live without thier master/father!
You're not wrong but they are mostly really fun filler with great action. The only arc that I think wasn't super fun is the monsters arc because it's like the longest arc in the season. Usagi's arc is probably the best.
You know, after rewatching this and episodes like Tale of the Yokai I start laughing. Sure, this show feels goofy and lighthearted on the cover, but I laugh hearing anyone saying it's not dark. I mean, we've got Splinter's funeral and Shredder's head getting chopped, if that's not dark for TMNT, then I guess people are just closing their eyes on that.
Love your guys reactions i really love this show its definitely my favourite version of the turtles and splinter, so sad that he died, i never liked shredder as a character though, the voice acting was amazing and was definitely badass with his fighting, it just annoyed me how he always blamed Splinter for stealing Tang Shen and then with Karai when they were his family not his but this is just my opinion with not liking the character. I really liked the first 4 episodes of season 5 and i think you'll like them aswell.
and sadly this was the officially the last time we saw piegon pete and baxter stock man those tigers rock well the foot bots the elite foot bots they should have/could have had baxter stock man and those tigers be up in season 5 with tiger claw he could have brought back his suit that he had in season 1 and season 2 and brought back his mousers and could have brought back scum bug and those ant mutants and tiger claw could have turn those tigers into mutants tigers and rock well should have been up in season 5 in 1 or 2 episodes later on in season 5 i tell you which episodes he should have been
see this episode would have been the perfect opportunity for cirol neil to have piegon pete and mondo gecko professor honey cutt the punk frogs the mutant chicken kurtzman kirby the blind old to get kill by super shredder and be buried at the farm house with splinter and it would have really be sad for the turtles and them not only because splinter death because of there friends/allies death to and it would have had raph and mikey donnie casey jones april be like what can we do we are not strong enough to stop super shredder and then leo have an badass moment where turns to them with his white eyes and says we don't just stop him we kill him and then thats where they get to gear up and stuff
i wish that raph and mikey donnie would have different weapons like leo had different swords and not just have there weapons painted black in different spots or have donnie just have his blade come out of his staff like raph should have actual have those types of sais on 3:09 or the other sais that splinter got in the trainer room and donnie should have had one of those spears in the trainer room to and mikey should have had that chin weapon that april had back in season 1 or have rope nunchucks like in the ninja turtles 90s movie

The best part of the episode in this KID'S show is that they came to Shredder's house for murder, no other reason just pure murder
