The lyrics would upset peoples feelings. They're "misogynistic" even though some women actually like BDSM and others dont. Same with men. Should women who are nonconforming be forced to punish people who havent done anything to them or punish themselves because they belong to a certain group?!

Rachmaninoff did an adaptation of it for the piano, I think it was a bit different in the 1926 version with Nadezhda Plevitskaya singing, but I finally have a score, or something written for it. I'll try to rewrite it according to what I was on the 1926 version if this one is not adequate enough ^^

These are amazing works. Since I first heard them in the 1970s I have wondered, Why are they not more famous??? These are songs of great beauty.
I agree, I think because to this day the west tends do discourage listening to anything that sounds only the slightest bit Russian
