    UPDATE: I set 12 of these traps in my yard, in mole tunnels. I was left the traps undisturbed for a few days. Tonight I started digging up the traps. I caught a HUGE mole! He was 5.5 inches long, and was rather pudgy. I was so proud of myself. So far 2 small moles using the mousetrap with peanut butter trick. And the Grand Daddy was caught with a trapline trap. I am hoping I have them all! IF not I have the traps. Thanks TrapLine!

    I got a set of these. They work awesome, I did have to get the location correct before I caught the mole, but I only had one mole and I have a large yard. I bought two and put them facing opposite directions in the tunnel so no matter which direction the mole came from I would have a trap waiting. THANKS!!

    It worked! I bought 2 of these traps from the trapline website, and just had a catch today.

    These traps are the bomb, SO much better than your average hardware store scissor kind. I am ordering 4 more.

    Best mole traps ever made. I own 4 of them. Last year I trapped 7 moles in my garden with them. Just FANTASTIC!

    These work great. I was skeptical, but I bought 8 traps and have probably caught 50 voles so far.
    I have encountered some voles that are very smart and push the trap out the hole and then fill it in with dirt. I haven’t figured out how to fix that yet.

    I have not used my traps in a while until yesterday, keep loaning them out, and have to buy more as they never come back : ) Set the trap last night, big mole caught this morning.

    This is a good trap. The only challenge with it is you need to “know” the direction the mole is taking. As silly as it sounds, if the mole trap is set in the opposite pathway of his burrow, you have to wait and potentially flip it around. Or lay down two traps in opposite directions. Thats what I do and works effectively.

      I think this is why they are sold in pairs. I just bought two pairs so I'd have two opportunities to catch some very destructive moles before the ground freezes.

    I have been trapping moles for the past 30+ years , and can say these traps work great ......not 100% of the time , I haven't had a single one back filled with soil , like the Duffus traps get , mainly set of by improper setting in tunnels (my fault) , but on the whole , a very good trap, so much so I now have 2000 of them for my business .

      Im thinking of getting intobthe mole removal business ..ive always used scissor traps...why did you decide on these trap line traps ?

  • @jpozenel
    @jpozenel 15 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Once you have them in your lawn you won't feel sorry for them. They're very destructive and I've found them to be nearly impossible to get rid of.
    I've tried other traps without any success so I think I might get a couple of these.

    I just finished setting two traps and when I went to cover my work I saw one of the traps start to move. Over the next 30-60 seconds the trap's trigger end started moving outwards and upwards. The mole must have been pushing down and back on the jaws end which lifted the trigger end and the vole just kept going until the trap was completely out of the tunnel. After the show I've re-set the traps. This time I dug the jaws end in much deeper into the dirt. Hope to see a dead vole or two but am worried that learned behavior is going to foil my attempts.

  • @PLEDGEY
    @PLEDGEY 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    how would you cover it?, what if the mole comes from the other direction?,, i use duffus traps, you can cover them with soil without the run filling up, and sometimes you can catch 2 moles in one trap. they are also know as break back traps.

    When I first moved to my property here in Montana (7 yrs ago)........there were TONS of pocket gophers. (15, to be exact).
    They DESTROYED the yard. I couldn't mow or I would hit the mounds and dull the blades.
    I bought 4 of these traps (2 medium, 2 large). In 10 days I COMPLETELY ELIMINATED ALL the gophers. These are THE BEST
    traps money can buy. AND.......I consider them EXTREMELY CHEAP for what they do. (At the time, $7 ea.)

  • @LarsonsMom

    I bought 12 of these traps, I have them all set out in my backyard now. I plan to check them in a few days. With any luck, I will have the little critter. I am aiming at the very least to maim him! They are destroying my yard!

    • @steveday5309
      @steveday5309 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a lot of times when your yard is all tore up and you would think there has to be 15-20 moles , and may only be 2 or 3. one mole can do a lot of digging in a day. work on a fresh tunnel that you see getting longer .

    does this trap work in only one direction? so, one needs two of these traps with the jaws facing "outwards" away from each other when placed in an active tunnel

    • @steveday5309

      unless you can see the end of the tunnel in the middle of your yard, its only going to come from one direction

    how do you know if/when the trap went off?

    • @jackboot5321
      @jackboot5321 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually, you will see the hole looks like it's filled in again. MAKE SURE YOU ATTACH A HEAVY STRING or CHAIN
      to the trap, or the little sucker might take it into the tunnel(s) before it dies. But it WILL die. I tie the little chain to
      a huge 12" steel spike I punch into the ground about a foot from the hole. They I just slowly pull the chain and remove the critter.

    The main reason I dont like these is, its a one way trap, lots of little metal areas for debris to get caught up in and jam or slow the trap. The pincer traps are a two way trap with a center lever so if the mole comes from any direction he can spring it. YMMV.. but the hardy pincer traps work much better IMO.

    Gosh!
    Some people are persistently stupid aren't they.
    Wasting time on nonsense questions is certainly no way to run a business.
    Some people need "a little help" with everything in life - that's there excuse
    Mole traps are for moles
    Gopher traps are for gophers
    Mole traps can be used on shrews, mice and voles when in the ground.
    How could they make it any clearer.
